About this property
Harts Landing - A cozy forest getaway for friends & family at Stag Leap Cabins!
This spacious cabin has plenty of room for the whole family but is also cozy enough for a couple's getaway! It is set on a sloping hill that leads down to the beautiful Bonaldo Creek.
Harts Landing is a two-bedroom/two-bath cabin hidden at the bottom of a hill just above Bonaldo Creek. It's perfect for families or two couples who want their own private bedroom and bath. Due to the extra storage and space it offers, it’s also a great cabin for extended stays.
The main room is an open-concept living area and kitchen and has a built-in daybed for additional sleeping. A leather reclining sofa, oversized occasional chair, and dining table with chairs provide ample seating for relaxing, visiting, and game-playing. A large smart TV provides our guests with additional entertainment options. This room’s pine wood floors add a natural, rustic appeal, and all the windows allow our guests to enjoy the beautiful East Texas forest while in the comfort of the indoors.
Unique granite countertops offer the perfect backdrop for preparing a tasty meal or snack in the kitchen. This area is equipped with an efficiency-sized stove/oven, a microwave, a standard coffee pot, cookware, and dinnerware. A small nook off the side of the kitchen leads to a refrigerator/freezer, a toaster, and the entrance to the master suite.
The master suite has a king bed, a Jacuzzi tub, a large vanity, and a private toilet room. A unique palladium window above the bed and a sliding glass door beckons nature inside this luxurious space. Black-out curtains can be pulled to ensure a restful night’s sleep.
Off the master suite is a private deck with chairs and a small table. It’s the perfect place to listen to morning songbirds with a cup of coffee or reminisce as romantic moonbeams filter through the trees.
The second bedroom has a beautiful queen-size poster bed and a small desk. This room also has a closet and a private bathroom with a shower and additional storage.
A covered porch with patio furniture and an extended wood deck with a picnic table and grill provide guests with plenty of outside seating for dining, visiting, and enjoying the natural setting.
The cabin is kept comfortable with central heat and air. It is located close to the shared property hot tub, which can be reserved for private use in one-hour increments.
***IMPORTANT NOTES ABOUT THIS CABIN & OUR PROPERTY***
The hot tub, laundry room, and activity field are shared amenities. The hot tub is not too far from this cabin and can be accessed by a fairly short walk, but as noted above, this cabin does have an indoor jacuzzi tub. The hot tub may be reserved for an hour of private use; however, you do not have to reserve it to use it. All other amenities are available on a first-come-first-serve basis.
We have a NO PETS & NO SMOKING/VAPING policy. Smoking is only allowed outside the cabin, away from open doors and windows. Extra fees will be charged if we determine smoking has occurred inside the cabin.

About the host
Hosted by Sabrina Collins

My husband, Kirby, and I grew up in the Lufkin/Nacogdoches area, so this has always been home to us. We love to travel (especially to mountainous areas), but cruising the dirt roads in our Jeep is our favorite pastime. We started the cabin rental business shortly after we were married in 1993, and we love giving our guests a true East Texas experience.
Kirby's parents, Wayne and Mattie, own the property. They live in the main house, which also serves as the office. Mattie will most likely greet you upon arrival as she really enjoys meeting our guests.

Why they chose this property
Growing up in rural East Texas has given us a deep appreciation for natural settings. We love our tall pine and oak trees and the creek that runs through our property. Having a lot of acreage adds to our feeling of safety and privacy and gives us plenty of roaming room.
Being close to Lake Nacogdoches is a real plus, too. We have spent many summers boating on the lake with our children. Stag Leap is an easy drive to both Nacogdoches and Lufkin. Both towns have great downtown areas for shopping and special events, and each offers unique places to visit and explore. We definitely enjoy the small-town feel with many great shopping, dining, and entertainment options.

What makes this property unique
Stag Leap is on a 250+-acre woodland with secluded cabins scattered along the sandy-bottom Bonaldo Creek. We are the perfect getaway for a romantic weekend, family reunions, small group retreats, or extended stays. Our relaxing, cozy, home-like setting doesn’t compare to what you’ll find in a hotel!
We are close to numerous popular activities and attractions. We are ten minutes from historic downtown Nacogdoches with its brick streets, quaint antique shops, and numerous museums and historical landmarks. A short drive from our property is Stephen F. Austin University, home of the Lumberjacks and its state-recognized azalea gardens, the largest in Texas. Nacogdoches is also a prime destination for pickleball and disc golf enthusiasts, and fishermen love that we are just four miles from Lake Nacogdoches, which provides boating, swimming, fishing, and disc golf opportunities. As part of the Texas Parks and Wildlife Pineywood Trail, we also offer excellent opportunities for bird watching and other wildlife without ever leaving our property, so bring your binoculars!
We offer seven uniquely decorated cabins that are private and secluded from each other. Our cabins offer various sleeping accommodations and have fully stocked kitchens, free WiFi, satellite television, charcoal grills, and air conditioning. Most have whirlpool Jacuzzi tubs (inside or outside) and electric log fireplaces for a romantic ambience. All linens (sheets, towels, washcloths, dish towels) are provided.
A large, centrally located hot tub is available for all guests but may be reserved for private use for an hour at a time. We also offer other amenities and activities such as golf cart rentals, disc golf, basketball, horseshoes, and hiking.
