We had such a wonderful time. Everything was perfect. We had a big group of all ages and we all had so much fun swimming, boating and hanging out in the boathouse. The views are spectacular, the place is clean and the owners were lovely. We will definitely rent here again.
The cottage was very accomodating, clean and comfortable. My group and I had a wonderful time, thanks to Wayne, Brenda and Larry.
The lake access was great and the beach house/dock held many toys for the days spent in the water.
Thank you to Wayne, Brenda and Larry for a fabulous getaway! We hope to return next year :)

We enjoyed great family time at this location. Everyone had a wonderful time.
The lake was beautiful and the cottage was very clean. Furniture and beds were very comfortable. The beach area could use more beach area for young children. Otherwise a great place.

Hi Pam I'm glad you enjoyed your stay at the cottage. As for the beach All the locals are upset at the township for not bringing more sand to the beach. They have said for years now that they will not bring in outside sand to add to the lake because of environmental reasons . They have been adding sand for the last 40 years that I know off but apparently they are not allowed to anymore. Very frustrating. Larry
The cottage is cute and simple. It is much bigger on the inside than it looks on the outside. It does get hot but they provided 2 fans and we had brought a third. The location is fantastic. The lake is shallow so the water is quite warm. The sunsets are beautiful. The kids fished right off the dock and caught several little fish!
Wayne is a thoughtful host who made our stay even more memorable by doing several extras for us. So close to a small but great little beach.
Our children aged almost 3 to almost 9yrs old had a blast, as did the adults. Very relaxing. Lots to do inside if there’s a rainy day. Thank you for the memories.

Thank you for posting the review and leaving the cottage so clean! It was great getting to meet your families and knowing they had a special stay on Gunter Lake. Please consider us in the future, we would love to have you back. - Wayne
We came to this cottage for a family vacation with our son, daughter, their spouses and our four grandchildren. Our grandchildren are between the ages of eight and three. This cottage is great for children. It has a dock with a huge slide, a row boat, canoe, and paddle boat as well as a small sand beach close by. The boathouse contains all the things you need for being in the water with children, with plenty of life jackets (for all ages), swim noodles, sand toys and water guns. The cottage itself has dishes, games and toys for small children as well.
The beds are all very comfy. There are lots of pots, pans, crock pot, coffee pot, kettle and bakeware so you can cook or bake anything you can think of. We had a great time around the firepit many evenings with the dry wood that was also supplied.
The hosts were very friendly and responded quickly to any of our questions.
This is an older cottage so no air conditioning, but with the many fans it was comfortable.
It was a wonderful holiday with our family. I would certainly come back again.

Thanks for the great review. We’re glad you and your family had a fun time. We tried to model it for our own kids and grandkids. Hope to see you again. Larry
My four grandsons, aged 6, 6, 8, and 9, loved this place. They heavily used the tiny beach straight across the road. The boathouse is well stocked with all kinds of water toys, and there are about 15 life jackets (pfds) in all sizes. There is a large box of lego which was in constant use. The boys ignored the collection of indoor games and videos. Two of the upstairs bedrooms also have a twin bed besides the queen, which was very useful.
When the barbecue stopped working, Wayne put in a new propane tank. This is a good vacation place for families with kids.
The description has "NOTE !! Must supply own linens for beds and bath towels." Linens are sheets and pillowcases. We arrived without blankets. Later in the description is "bedding", but it would be helpful to either not use "linens" or to list everything needed for a bed like, "sheets, pillowcases, and blankets or comforters". The mattresses have mattress pads.
One of our group had a Chatr sim card. It turns out that Gunter Lake is not covered. But our other cells had good service.

Hi Doug glad your kids had a great time. Our grandkids love it too. Thanks for the feedback on the bedding and linens descriptions. We will try to clarify it better. Keep us in mind for the future. Larry
We loved the variety of options, relaxing in the house, the boat house, the beach etc. The hosts were kind enough to offer us a sunset cruise in their pantoon boat, so that added to the charm of this peaceful setting. Would definitely consider this as a future possibility.
Very clean, lots of space. Hosts were very nice and laid back. Little yard was fenced and perfect to keep our dog safe from the road. Much bigger than it looks especially second floor with lots of rooms. My kids loved playing the games. Highly recommended.
The lake is quiet with little boat traffic so is great for a scenic canoe ride or paddleboard ride.
The floating raft with slide was great for the kids and got a lot of use. The lake bottom is a little mushy, but is better at the beach a stone's throw away, or you can swim over.
Fishing was great for the kids right off the dock and off the float raft. Nothing huge, but lots of catches for the little ones.
The cottage was well maintained, and spaceous and the owners were super ... Responsive and providing a lot of information and assistance.
Great spot and great owners. Would definitely recommend

Perfect for our family
This cottage is so spacious. It was perfect for my large family. Everyone had their own room as there are 5 bedrooms. The waterfront was lovely, and had all the toys we wanted. Paddle boat, canoe,,lots of chairs and areas to sit and relax. We also brought our pet, so it was great that the yard is completely fenced in.
The cottage was super clean when we arrived and had everything we needed and we lucked out with a perfect weather weekend. Beds were nice and comfy too.
My kids also enjoyed the floating dock and slide into the water.
All in all, the perfect weekend for us. I would go back again, and highly recommend to others.
A great value for the cost. Loved it. Would be a great space for a girls weekend away too.
