Bayfield Village - Vader Cottage - Ontario

The Vader Cottage is a chalet style winterized cottage nestled on a very private treed lot in the Village of Bayfield. Located within walking distance of the historic Bayfield shopping district and Lake Huron beaches, fine dining, flea markets and beautiful sunsets are all readily available. The cottage is located within easy walking distance of all the Village attractions and is situated on a dead-end residential street near the south end of town. Well appointed with three bedrooms and recently renovated kitchen and baths, the cottage is also equipped with a natural gas barbecue, washer/dryer, wifi internet access and a fire pit (wood provided). The open concept recreation room with vaulted ceilings has a gas fireplace, TV and DVD player. The kitchen is fully stocked with fridge, microwave, gas stove, Keurig coffee maker and all the necessities needed to prepare your meals at home. Central air conditioning will keep you cool during the hot summer months. The large front deck comes equipped with a full size picnic table and plenty of chairs for relaxing and enjoying the quiet atmosphere. Parking is available for three vehicles in the drive. A wagon and other children's accessories are available (high chair) upon request as well as board games, videos, books and puzzles. The beach is a short 10 minute walk from the cottage as are other Bayfield Village amenities such as award-winning restaurants, children's playground and splash pad in Clan Gregor Square, and numerous gift shops to satisfy all your shopping needs. The cottage water supply is provided by the Municipality and is the same water source as the City of London. Bayfield is trying to reduce it's use of bottled water so be assured that the water supply is safe.
Visit the historic Bayfield downtown shopping district to enjoy fine dining at one of our award winning restaurants or browse the many gift shops that grace the downtown. Located only 10 minutes from the cottage, the Village also boasts a flea market on Sundays, a grocery store, LCBO and harbour with boat launch. At least 5 golf courses are located within a 15 minute drive of the cottage or, if golfing is not your thing, try your hand at fishing in either the Bayfield or Maitland Rivers.

Great comfortable cottage close to everything

Very nice spacious cottage for the whole family with 2 bathrooms and 3 bedrooms. Living room is very cozy for reading books, playing games and TV.Walked my dog to lake Huron every morning. About 15 min to the shore and little longer to Glass street stairs.15 min walj yo main street restaurants. Kelly dupplied us with everything for bonfire.

Tranquil property located within minutes of the quaint town of Bayfield

My wife and I have just spent a wonderful 3 days at Kelly’s property and everything was as we’d hoped. The property was spotless and we loved the fact we were in a secluded spot yet Bayfield’s Main Street was just a 5 minute walk away as were numerous beaches. There were lovely places in Bayfield itself to eat and drink and we also enjoyed the short trip up to Goderich.

Our names are Rob and Kelly Vader and we live right next door to the cottage. We have owned the property since 1992 and have been renting it out as a vacation rental property since 1996. We love meeting new people and have made many lifelong friends from the cottagers who visit us on an annual basis.

We live and work in the Bayfield area and have raised our three children here. We love the quiet atmosphere of the community and know you will love it too once you have stayed here. We have slowly been upgrading the cottage over the years to make it more inviting for renters. We added a rear yard patio in 2017 and a new downstairs bathroom and shower in 2018.

Living next door makes is convenient for us to respond to any concerns from renters and address any issues that might arise.

A beautiful chalet-style cottage located right next door to our own property seemed like an opportunity that was too good to miss.

What makes this property unique

The cottage is on Stark Street which is a dead-end street at the south end of Bayfield. Stark is one of the nicest streets in the village with a good mix of full time and seasonal properties. The cottage is very private with mature pine trees around the perimeter and large cedars screening the deck from the road as well as from neighbours.
