New 2024 Darling 1930s beach cabin-newly remodeled
Stay in a piece of Bandon history! Mere steps from the beach, the 1930’s era Barton Cabin has been recently remodeled, featuring all-new modern amenities while maintaining its original rustic feel. Everything about the cabin is cozy, with one bedroom and bath upstairs (including a queen bed and compact washer and dryer) and one tiny bedroom downstairs (also with a queen bed) along with a second bath and fully equipped kitchen. Located 3/4 of the way down the bluff, it’s sixty stair-steps from the parking area to the cabin, but it’s worth the walk: the cabin has private beach access a few more steps further down, shared only with one set of neighbors. The views from inside and out are as good as any beach views in Oregon; sit on the couch or deck and watch the surf crash into rock formations from Face Rock to Elephant Rock. The neighborhood is friendly and walkable. Lord Bennett’s restaurant is practically across the street, and the shops and restaurants of Bandon are all only a mile away.

This place is a dream! The views are magnificent and the home is clean, stylish and comfortable. We have found our spot for years to come! The beach access couldnt be easier and is just steps from the door.
We had a perfect stay at the Barton Cabin….. The house was perfect and comfortable amenities. Lots of stairs but the views, privacy and location more than made up for that! Thank You.Rob
Location! The 60 stairs up to the parking area weren't bad, and the dozen or so to the beach were great. We enjoyed the nonstop sound of the waves, which we went to sleep and woke up to.
This place was amazing, so cozy and comfortable. The host thought of lots of little extra touches that make this place special. Cute extra touch was the basket of dog toys that our dog really enjoyed. The view was amazing with a really nice deck and seating to enjoy it. Everything was very comfortable (beds, pillows, couches) and very clean. Only con, which cannot be helped, is the 60 stairs to get in/out, so pack light and enjoy the extra exercise.
Absolutely the best view on Bandon Beach. Although this is a small accommodation, it is beautifully arranged, and decorated. The kitchen has everything you need to cook a nice meal and watch the view from the dining table. Be aware that the stairs going to the upper level are very narrow and the steps up and down will keep you in shape. We would love to come back here again! This is the most beautiful beach in Oregon, and this is one of the best places to take in the incredible vista!
Excellent accommodations! The owner has thought of everything and provides top notch bedding, towels, kitchen equipment etc. Sam’s customer service is excellent and above and beyond. Everyone is absolutely correct about all the stairs - not for the faint of heart for sure. The photos cannot possibly do justice to the absolutely breathtaking surroundings…
Yes, there are a lot of steps; yes, the place is compact; yes, luggage and groceries are a hassle. But none of this matters. The setting is out of this world! It is a fairy land of spires and sea stacks, with an endless beach. The restoration of the cottage was done very tastefully. It’s pretty well equipped and very comfortable. We stayed for 6 days and loved it. Looking forward to returning. Highly recommended for a beach experience.
This was the absolute cleanest, well appointed cabin we have ever stayed in. Every detail was captured. Upscale decor, linens and furniture were lovely. The cabin smelled fresh and clean and was the perfect size for the two of us and our Yorkie! We felt right at home as soon as we walked in. The remodel is stunning. My husband is a finish carpenter and gave his two thumbs up on the quality craftsmanship. Can’t say enough about the views and the beach. We didn’t mind the stairs to the parking area and actually had fun unloading and loading using the pulley. There was a lovely coffee bar with quality coffee and a bag of ice in the freezer. Everything in the kitchen was perfect. There were extra blankets to help us stay cozy plus lots of towels and toiletries. This is just the best cabin. We’re already planning another trip. Thank you for making Barton Cabin feel like home.
Very cute cabin with an incredible view. We carted most of our stuff in backpacks which made the stairs much easier. Highly recommend for a cozy getaway.
Surpassed all photos. Wonderful experience. And this is our 1st vrbo experience when we didn’t have to contact host or management about ANYTHING! We had everything we needed and the place was set up just great.
This property is perfect for small groups! The view was priceless and interior was clean and functional. Be prepared to walk up/down 50 steps to access the property.
Can’t beat the view or access to the beach. Cabin was clean and cozy and had a well equipped kitchen. We baked bread twice. There are Sea Lions and pups regularly sunning themselves on the rocks about a 10 minute walk North (do not disturb!) We enjoyed a horseback ride along the beach one day. Cloudy a good part of the time and there’s a cool breeze out of the North ALL of the time.
Loved the house and especially the incredible view from the deck. We were lucky to have clear and relatively warm weather. The luggage slide was very helpful and we were glad it was dry weather. We would definitely stay here again. Regards, Ken
Loved this cabin. It was clean and uncluttered. Views from every room. The beach is mindblowing! Notes: bring earmuffs to block the wind and an eye mask for sleeping. Also, a shoe rack and coat hooks would help keep the small space tidy.
I have been to Bandon many times, but never stayed anywhere as wonderful at The Barton Cabin. The location couldn't get any better. It's perched halfway down the cliffs with easy access to the beach. We got luck with sunny weather, but if it were raining there is a partially covered porch to enjoy the deck. The cabin is appointed extremely well, the beds extra comfortable, and the house is light and bright. You do need to be in decent shape to climb the stairs, but the hike is worth it.
Such a beautiful beach cottage for 2! My husband & I enjoyed the Christmas holiday watching 30 foot waves roll in from the Pacific. The storm watching was amazing. The cottage is perfectly renovated and decorated. Very simple, clean, everything we needed. The property manager was also so helpful! Thank you for the perfect stay. We will definitely book again!
The house was fantastic! My family of 4 really enjoyed everything about our stay. We loved that this house was right on the beach with breathtaking views from the deck and quick access down to the beach. The house had everything we needed for our stay and was perfect! The stairs down to the house were not a problem for us. We liked that the grocery store was nearby. I would not have wanted to stay anywhere else!!!
This was such a cute place! Very well redone, with everything you need. Easy access to the beach. There are 60 steps just to get into the place! But there is a pulley system you can put your stuff in to lower up and down.
I would return to this place in a heartbeat!!
Entering the Barton Cabin we were immediately struck by its charm and the breathtaking views. It is truly obvious how much love and care was given to renovate without losing any of the original warmth of the home. The kitchen is perfectly appointed, along with both bathrooms. Great big fluffy towels and high end fixtures. We loved the view from the second floor bedroom and the comfortable bed was made more cozy by the great linens not to mention the wonderful sound of the waves. We sat on the deck and reveled looking at the dramatic rocks and the waves, we relaxed on the couch in front of the electric fireplace in the evening and took many walks on the beach. At times it seemed like we were in our own romance novel.
Won’t deny there are 50 plus steps straight down from the car to the house, but I guarantee the steps are absolutely worth it.
