We planned this trip very last minute and Gus was very helpful and responsive to our messages. The cottage is very lovely and being off the grid for a few days was quite nice. It was a quick trip into Bancroft for some groceries or to Papineau beach for a lovely beach day. Definitely would love to go back again and recommend it if you’d like a relaxing vacation in a beautiful setting.
Beautifully ensconced among pines with the soothing sound of rapids from a river adjacent to our cottage provided us with a wonderfully relaxing vacation. And Gus was ever ready to make our stay a most enjoyable experience. Making time to take me paddling through Conroys Marsh was a much appreciative highlight.
This was a perfect getaway for our family! While there were many things to do (canoe, kayak, hike, etc.) we spent most of our time enjoying the beautiful property and swimming in the rapids in front of the cottage! Gus was a great host and very welcoming. Would not hesitate to book this experience again. Thanks Gus!

We spent 4 days enjoying some quality quiet time by the river. With all the rain we had, the water level in river was a bit high. Played board games, spent time swimming and hiking. Gus had some well marked trails for us to hike.
Gus was a great host. Will be back again.
This place was perfect for us. 2020 has been a challenging year and we just needed to get away from it all. Such a beautiful spot and we were so thankful to be able to experience the peacefulness and serenity this spot has to offer. We walked all the trails surrounding this cottage and used the canoes for some paddles in the river. Coffee in the morning was enjoyed by the water as well as cocktails in the late afternoon/evening. This place was pure heaven for us.

This is truly a beautiful place. We loved our peaceful canoe rides in the river and hikes through the mossy forest. A highlight was photographing the night sky and spotting a few shooting stars. Gus is a wonderful, helpful host and we're looking forward to visiting him and his beautiful property again soon!
Morning coffees by the river. Afternoon paddles into the marsh. Evenings by the fire. Our two week stay was perfect. Gus was a great host, making us feel completely welcome.

We loved staying at Gus’ cottage tucked away in the woods with the most beautiful view of the river. The property is amazing and the cottage was tidy, cozy, and well stocked. Gus was available to help when needed and also took us on a canoe trip through the Conroy Marsh which was very beautiful. Definitely coming back again. Thanks Gus!

Truly private
Older cottage and decidedly rustic but super clean, cozy and well-provided. Beds comfortable. The location and surroundings are the real stars of this rental. Beautiful spot and definitely would return. Gus was the perfect host, very knowledgeable about the area and generous with information, we really enjoyed his stories.
Beautifully situated property beside a lovely river and the ever present sound of gurgling rapids. Spent much of the time sitting in a breeze reading under pine trees in Gus’s wonderfully made Muskoka chairs, we had a wonderful and relaxing time. Setting was picture postcard perfect. Gus was more than helpful and interesting, really enjoyed the paddle he took me on exploring Conroys Marsh. An absolutely perfect holiday!
