About this property
Wooded Lakefront Oasis w/ Kayaks, Game room & Lakeside Fire Ring
Immerse yourself in the nature of the Catskills at this pet-friendly lakefront retreat. Nestled among the trees, the property offers:
o 5.5 acres to explore with private shoreline, wooded trails, and limestone cliffs;
o Skiing, snow tubing, ice skating, & fat biking within 25 minutes;
o Gameroom with ping pong, air hockey, foosball, and Xbox; and
o Extras like snow shoes, fire pit, coffee bar, reading nook & wood-burning stove.
You will have exclusive access to the property's private lakefront shoreline, with many activities right on the property.
In the winter, you can enjoy your time at the lake by...
o Using the snowshoes we provide to explore the 5.5 acre property’s winding trails, limestone cliffs, and winter views of surrounding mountains;
o Gathering around the crackling firepit directly on the shore, roasting marshmallows under a starlit sky;
o Relaxing on the spacious wrap-around deck, with views of the pristine lake and a propane fire table to keep you warm;
o Igniting some friendly competition in the game room with its 6’ ping pong table, X box (with free access to a plethora of games), tabletop air hockey and foosball, and large collection of classic board games;
o Taking advantage of the cozy “extras” that make this property unique – including its reading nook, towel-warmer, and coffee bar with a variety of coffee, tea, and hot cocoa options.
As part of a private community, the lake is not accessible to the public, helping it remain pristine year after year. You will be surrounded by nature, but you will also be able to access...
o Skiing and snowtubing at Plattekill Mountain – considered a locals’ favorite and a hidden gem for skiing in the Catskills – within 25 minutes;
o Cross-country skiing, ice skating, fat biking, and sledding at Mine Kill State Park and Bearpen Mountain (within a half hour drive);
o Other Catskills skiing resorts like Belleayre Mountain (45 minutes away) and Windham and Hunter Mountains (both less than an hour away); and
o Groceries, restaurants, gas stations, and even a gym offering day passes within a 15 minute drive.
In warmer weather, the property transforms into an aquatic haven for activity. Cool off with a swim in the refreshing waters, explore the lake in a kayak or paddleboat, cast a line for your own freshly-caught trout, or challenge your friends to a game of croquet, badminton, or volleyball on the expansive lawn. Don't worry about packing extras – we've included the following for your convenience:
o two kayaks,
o a paddleboat,
o life vests,
o fishing rods,
o badminton/volleyball net and equipment, and
o lawn games like croquet and cornhole.
The property's prime location allows you to explore so many Catskills activities:
o Walk, run, or bike the Catskill Scenic Trail as you take in the beauty of the surrounding mountains and forest (5 minute drive to entry point)
o Fly fish or take a river tube down the west branch of the Delaware river (5 minute drive to an entry point)
o Reach any of the Catskills’ four ski mountains in less than an hour. Plattekill Mountain is the closest (25 minutes away). In addition to being a locals' favorite for skiing, snowboarding, and tubing in the winter, the mountain offers summer activities as well, with its hiking trails, lift-accessed mountain biking, and summer concert series. Windham and Belleayre mountains are both 45 minutes away and you can reach Hunter Mountain in less than an hour.
o Explore multiple waterfalls and well-known hikes like Mount Utsayantha and Pratt Rock (all within a 30 minute drive)
o View Mine Kill Falls’ 80-feet of cascading water at Mine Kill State Park, where you can also hike or mountain bike on its 8 miles of trails, use its boat launch, or enjoy the mountain views surrounding its free seasonal Olympic-sized pool. In the winter, the park also offers ice skating, sledding, and snow-shoeing, with equipment rentals on-site. (20 minutes away)
o Take a subterranean boat ride or participate in a spelunking tour as you explore Howe Caverns, a limestone cave system carved by an underground river over millions of years

o Browse books of every genre in the town of Hobart, the only "book village" east of the Mississippi River (less than 10 minutes away)
o Other destinations less than an hour away include the National Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, Kaaterskill Falls, Ashokan Reservoir, SUNY Delhi, multiple farmers markets, and a number of breweries and cideries

About the host
Hosted by Nicole Cotrino

We live in NJ and love coming up to the Catskills to enjoy the nature in the area. The waterfalls and mountains are gorgeous year-round, and we love skiing at Plattekill and Belleayre in the winter. We have enjoyed hosting because it lets us share this beautiful place with others!
Why they chose this property
While there are a number of houses surrounding the lake, they are each set back from the water's edge. While you look out at the lake, you don't see many other houses - instead, it feels as if you are one of the only properties on the lake, and you are just surrounded by trees and wilderness. We also enjoy having the ability to hike on the trails on the wooded part of the property, where you can explore limestone cliffs, winter views, and be truly surrounded by the wilderness of the Western Catskills.
What makes this property unique
The property is unique because it is on a gorgeous lake surrounded by trees and mountains, while also offering 5.5 acres to explore. It's also unique in the chalet experience it offers, with a wood-burning stove and high slanted ceilings with wooden beams. Lastly, the property offers so many activities right on site - we provide tons of activities in the game room (ping pong, air hockey, X-box, etc.) and lots of outdoor equipment as well (kayaks, paddleboat, badminton, croquet, snowshoes, firepit, etc.).
