About this property
3-Bedroom Cabin Getaway With Rustic Charm
This characteristic cabin getaway is located on a historic railroad street nestled in a charming village within the Housatonic River Valley. There are beautiful natural views, deep woods off the outdoor shower, a fully equipped kitchen, and an indoor & outdoor surround sound system. Escape the city and surround yourself in this quiet valley and the calm of small village life, located just 2 hours from NYC. This location offers year-round access to nature & outdoor activities.
Our cabin home is well-built and insulated with warm and rustic finishes. There are unique touches throughout the living areas and it is fully stocked with everything you need for a fun and relaxing getaway. The space itself has strong WIFI, TV with Roku and all the streaming apps, record player, Bluetooth-enabled surround sound stereo system (upstairs, downstairs & outside), and full amenity appliances (including washer/dryer, dishwasher, gas stove, oven, microwave, and accompanying supplies). The tub is a large sunken design (please note for those with limited mobility). We even have an outdoor shower and an outdoor Argentinian BBQ grill!
There is pristine hiking such as the Appalachian Trail as close as 10 minutes away that is accessible all year round. Beyond that, there are many state parks and state forests including Kent Falls and Mohawk that are closeby spots for fall foliage viewing. For the winter months, we have snowshoes for those looking for beautiful snowy scenery. And for more adventures, Mohawk Ski Resort is only an 8-minute drive away. During warmer months, the Housatonic River offers popular activities like fly-fishing, white-water kayaking, flat-water canoeing, and swimming.
Down the street and walking distance from the cottage, there are artists' shops, a local farmers' market, an electric bike rental, and a Michelin-starred chef's private restaurant. And for more restaurants and exploration, Kent, Salisbury, and Litchfield are all within a 20-minutes drive.
