This cozy cottage is an economical getaway for a couple or a small family. Billings Spit Cottage offers the perfect base from which to explore the Sooke area with its walking, cycling, beachcombing opportunities. The Sooke River Potholes are not far away either. A family with bicycles could make the Sooke River Potholes a destination for the day. The cottage sleeps up to 4 people. The main bedroom has a queen bed, and the living room has a double pullout sofa. The well maintained gardens and lawn offer a nice space for an evening BBQ. Access to the beach is just steps away, 25 metres at the end of the street. Follow up your BBQ with a walk on the beach! This protected beach is an excellent place to launch a kayak.

Billings Spit Cottage is located about 5 minutes (3 km) from the town centre of Sooke BC.

This reservation has a Firm cancellation policy - refunds will be issued up to 60 days prior to the check in date.
A 100% refund is provided for travellers cancelling at least 60 days before check-in. A 50% refund is provided for travellers cancelling from 30 to 59 days before check-in. No refunds are provided for travellers cancelling less than 30 days prior to check-in.
Our house rules: primary renter must be 25 or older, no smoking, no parties or events, pets permitted.
Guest must sign a Guest Agreement and return it to Island Vacation Homes Ltd before arrival. A credit card is required for a $500 (minimum) damage or excessive cleaning deposit. This is a temporary hold on the account and it expires after the guest's departure.

Check-in is 5pm. Check-out is 11am, except in high season when it is 10am

Long Weekend Visit

Lovely, well equipped cottage with lots of charm. Comfortable, quiet and well cared for. We so enjoyed being close to the shore for great walks in the mornings. We plan to stay again next time we’re in the area, and would definitely recommend this property for couples wanting a quiet getaway.

I have stayed here often - love that I can walk to the rocky beach in one minute. It has everything needed for your stay. Bed is comfortable. Rooster in neighbours yard add character. Check in is easy and Robert is prompt to answer any questions.

Cosy little beachhouse

The charme of Tuscanny close to a bay of the Pacific Ocean is something special to enjoy in this house. On the other side it's really run down, same furniture like 5 years ago when we first spend a week there. Bathroom is very tiny. But, our dog loved the garden.

A Comfortable Stay in a Charming Cottage

A charming cottage, it was well stocked and very comfortable. The location, steps away from the ocean, was ideal, as was access to the area. The drive down to the cottage was suspect but the destination was worth it.

I rented this property for my mother to stay in while visiting me in the area and she loved it! The location was perfect right next to the beach for her very quiet. The cottage was clean and tidy and the check in/check out process was easy and quick. She definitely wants to stay again!

Musty smelling

Location was great. Small but ok for the two of us. However, the cottage smelled musty. There was mildew along windows and the basement where laundry is was damp and moldy. There is a dehumidifier but it was full when we arrived. Place was superficially cleaned but there was layer of dust under bed and we vacuumed significant amount of dirt from the rugs. We won’t be back.

Thanks for the feedback. I will discuss cleaning issues with the cleaner and budget for a deep clean. If you had reached out to me about your concerns, I could have arranged for some cleaning during your stay. About the dampness, we had an extremely wet fall season for weeks ahead of your booking and during your booking. The property is at sea level, so a damp basement is to be expected. We keep the heat on in the cottage and the dehumidifier running quietly on auto in the basement set for 60% humidity. It has a hose that drains continuously, so it was not shut down waiting to be emptied. Except for the laundry the basement is not a place where guests need to spend any time. We get a lot positive comments about the cottage. Billings Spit Cottage has a significant following of repeat guests.

Although the cottage is located beside light industrial area it is extremely quiet and 1 minute walk to the ocean and Billings Spit.. exactly as indicated in pictures online. Robert made check in and out very easy. Thank you

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this quaint little cottage. Perfect for 1 or 2 guests. 20 second walk to the water was perfect. And in the heat the cabin stayed nice and cool. The communication with the owner was too notch. Would most definitely stay here again.
