We had a lovely time at Cobblestone cottage. The kitchen has all the basic equipment necessary to make meals and while the water isn't potable it does get nice and hot which was lovely for showers after long hikes. In general it was a place that reminds you to slow down and enjoy. The turkey vultures we saw while bird watching were an added bonus!

Liked: Check-in, communication, location
The property represented good value relative to others in the area. The property could use a fair bit of freshening up and the water situation was a bit of a surprise. I would suggest even some water in the fridge to get people started would be cheap and appreciated but to not have any drinking water on arrival was disappointing Quiet and secluded location though
This is a wonderful place to escape into nature and peaceful back to basics life. The cottage was stocked well with necessities and provided comfy girls get away for 2. I would stay again in a heartbeat:)

We are so glad you had a wonderful time away. Cobblestone is a little gem that we are happy to share! thank you for all your updates they are very much appreciated :)
Lived the beauty and serenity of the place. The interior was cosy and homely.Every item needed in the kitchen was handy. Place was clean.Suggest suggestion about location, please put an arrow sign for the driveway to avoid confusion and ensure we are on the right track to the cottage.
Had a very enjoyable time at this quiet, cute, little cottage. So nice to get away from cell service and listen to the quietness of nature. Would visit again.
Quiet, private, restful setting in lovely, forested grounds. Genuine old stone cottage, comfortable, well-equipped. Good location for visiting Bruce Peninsula National Park and Fathom Five National Marine Park - which were amazing experiences. The water in Lake Huron was so beautiful. Swimming was wonderful.
The best things about the cottage was its privacy, ambience, decor, cleanliness, well stocked with daily essentials. Barrow Bay was close to all of the activities that we were interested in doing. The single issue we had was with the blue sofa. Although it looked new and was comfortable it smelled strongly of wet dog.
We drove by the driveway but easily corrected course. Gorgeous cottage - rustic little gem. We repaired a part of the stone patio with stones from not of the beaches we visited, to ease a potential tripping hazard. Septic system was not acting well, but we made the best of it. Temperature was comfortable, kitchen well appointed, and the fridge, stove and BBQ clean. All in all, we'd go there again!
This little cottage is like something from a fairytale :) We absolutely loved it and would happily go back. The kitchen was very well equipped and the location of this cottage is great if you want to explore some of the less busy parts of the peninsula. The owners have a fantastic map of south peninsula hikes!
What a great place to stay! We brought our dog with us and the property had two sections of grass areas that were lined by forest for her so it felt contained and quiet. The cottage was clean and had everything we needed in the kitchen for our stay. There’s a great fire pit on the large flagstone patio and great wildlife. We saw a hummingbird feeding in the large white-flowering bush beside the patio, and down the street we spotted a red tanager and an osprey flying overhead! We hiked out to the Lion’s Head lookout, visited the Grotto, and took a boat tour to Flowerpot Island during our visit, so a great location to experience the Bruce Peninsula. We’ll definitely return because there is so much more to do in the area.
I recently had the pleasure of staying at this charming cottage, and I can’t say enough good things about it. From the moment we arrived, we felt right at home. The cottage itself is beautifully maintained, with all the comforts you could wish for. It’s clear that a lot of thought and care has gone into making this a perfect getaway spot.
The setting is tranquil and serene, providing the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Whether it was enjoying coffee on the porch, soaking in the peaceful surroundings, or exploring the nearby trails, every moment was a delight.
I highly recommend this cottage to anyone looking for a relaxing and rejuvenating retreat.

About the host

Paul and Liz moved from UK 20 years ago. One of the reasons they love Cobblestone so much is because it reminds them of the UK. They are happy to share their little unique cottage with you.
Why they chose this property
Barrow Bay can easily be missed to drive through but it’s central to so many places. It is a beautiful area which is extrememly popular for hikers.
What makes this property unique
Cobble stone is Rustic, very comfortable but at the same time basic accomodation. It is an original stone cottage a nostalgic feel to it. Cobblestone property provides complete privacy. As you drive up the winding driveway through an archway of old trees the first thing that greets you are 2 old stone gateway post. It’s a bit like coming through the wardrobe in Narnia and there tucked away is this little cottage. We love it.
