Quiet retreat

We used this home as our base as we explored Cape Cod. It was nice to return to a comfortable and quiet place to unwind after a busy day. The location was convenient with restaurants and shopping a few minutes away.

Lovely winter break in Cape Cod

We loved our stay in this home, which was exatly as described in the listing. Great location, much to do for kids and adults in the area and surrounding towns. Great property, great location

Property located in quiet neighborhood and location is a short drive to beaches, shopping, restaurants, etc. Downtown Falmouth about 15 minute drive while Hyannis is about 25 minutes. Lots of fine restaurants and attractions for every taste. Recommend the Cape Cod Dinner Train and Whale Watching out of Barnstable. And I would be remiss if I did not mention that Don and Joanne are absolutely great hosts that made us feel at home in their well appointed property

Fourth stay!

This was our fourth stay at this home. It was perfect for us as always. The owners always welcome us with warmth and the home is comfortable and well stocked with anything we might need, including sweet Portuguese bread and jam. We would highly recommend this East Falmouth home, any time of year.

Amazing home and owners

I couldn't be more happy about staying in this home with my wife and toddler. The property was clean, spacious, close to many attractions, and exactly what we needed. We stayed at Don and Joanne's house for five splendid days, enjoying the Fall at Cape Cod. The house is well appointed, clean, comfortable, and can accommodate 6 to 8 guests. The bathrooms are on the small side, but that's normal for this area. They are spread out over different levels. The hosts are delightful and very helpful.

Cape Cod Hideaway

Quiet home in East Falmouth which is a central location for many activities. 15 minutes to Old Silver or Chappy beach. Close location to Shining Sea Bike path and rental in addition to Island Queen Ferry. Close to Falmouth Commodores field as well. Home is spacious with more amentities than listed on site. Yard with fire pit and gas grill. Home owners very thoughtful and provided beach chairs and towels .

Cape Vacation

Having previously stayed on cape at a resort we wanted to try renting to enjoy a slower paced, more private vacation. We had an excellent expansion in East Falmouth thanks to the property owners Don and Joanne. Their home was warm and inviting with small touches to make our experience feel special. Each room has its own air-conditioner to help beat the heat. Don and Joanne's restaurant/shoppe recommendations were spot on! We would definitely stay there again. East Falmouth is much quieter than the Hyannis area and perfect for families.

Perfect home for family of 5!

Donald and Joann are the perfect hosts. Their home is immaculately clean and they provided everything we needed for our vacation. We had plenty of space for our family of five. They also had AC which was much appreciated during our summer visit. The location of the home is perfectly located a short drive from multiple beaches, a short drive to the MV ferry, and was a 30 minuted drive to most of the other things we wanted to do like a whale watching trip, the Nantucket ferry, and the Heritage Museum and Gardens in Sandwich. We loved the home and the area and will definitely stay here again!

Peaceful getaway

This lovely, clean, well-cared for & well-appointed property has plenty of room for a family to stay. The house has everything you need to enjoy a lovely vacation. A car is needed to get to any stores, beach, etc. but nothing is very far away. The owners Joanne & Don McCarthy are a lovely couple & attentive owners- greeting us upon arrival to make sure we had everything we needed. My husband & I would highly recommend this property & will not hesitate to rent it again in the future.

We moved to the Cape in 1971 from the Boston area and raised 5 children here. This particular home was the grandparent's home since 1970 the land had been in the family since the turn of the century. In the last 2 years this home was totally refurbished and now is available to rent. After raising 5 children Joanne went back to school and received her master's degree in marriage and family therapy and presently works with parents of autistic children. Don worked in insurance and started his own agency in 1979 finally slowing down and selling it 10 years ago but still remains working part-time for the new owners. We have 9 wonderful grandchildren and all but one live close by so we are kept very busy with the ongoings of the grandchildren.

Why they chose this property

This house was built by Joanne's parents in 1970 so the grandparents were able to see their grandchildren grow and raise their own children. With the grandfather now deceased and the grandmother in a nursing home the decision was made to keep the home in the family renovate it and rent it. It has been a wonderful place to raise our children.

What makes this property unique

One of the unique benefits of this home is that every thing in the home is new. New floors, carpeting, furniture, bedrooms sets and mattresses as well as new stainless steel appliances. We also put in a new heating system. Front porch is pleasant to sit on as well as the back deck. We also have a 3 season room with 14 new windows which lets in a lot of sunlight. The family room is one of the favorite rooms in the house with a comfortable sectional to relax on as you watch the large flat screen TV or enjoy a game of cards at the table at the other end of the room.
