About the host
Your host
I am from Ohio originally, but have lived in the PNW for 35 years. I enjoy the abundance of natural areas, proximity to the ocean, and hanging out in Portland. I enjoy hearing from guests why they are visiting, and also just enjoy providing people a nice place to stay.
Why they chose this property
I've lived in this neighborhood for 20 years and it has changed a LOT in that time. It is a really fun place to hang out and in particular it is nice that it is not super large (really only about six blocks) so it lends itself to some walking, but also just hanging out.
What makes this property unique
Visually what is different is the clear-stained wood siding on the house, even though it was built in 1900. I get many comments from people as they walk by. There are also a lot of VERY old roses along the front. Finally, the mansard roof is uncommon now, but was common with the small Victorian house such as mine. There is some detail work in the gable end in the front, and also I have left a little bit of the original paint along the roof line.
