About this property
NEAR FRENCH QUARTER, 4 or 8 King beds, Sleeps 8 - 16 - safest area
GREAT AREA, Safe, No Crime! This is two, 4 bedroom homes in Arabi. Arabi is in St. Bernard Parish (County). Arabi has a superior law enforcement that does not tolerate crime. When you stay in Arabi, you can go enjoy all of the fun things that New Orleans has to offer, but you return to sleep in Arabi without any worries of someone breaking into your house or car. Also, you can safely walk the streets at night in this neighborhood. Don't take a chance. Have a crime free vacation by staying at this house!
This is a beautifully restored home four miles from the French Quarter. Very safe neighborhood. Plenty of Parking. Also, very close to a boat launch which offers the best fishing in the country. Stay an extra day or two. Bring a boat or charter a fishing captain and go fishing.
The house has 4 king beds. There are 3 full baths and a half bath. We completed remodeling the house in July 2014. Next door is a another house with 4 king beds and 3.5 baths. We completed remodeling the second house in February, 2020. We have central air and heat and a washer/dryer in the house. The house has a nice porch table and chairs. The front porch is a nice place to sit in the afternoons with sun setting behind the house. From the porch, you can watch the cruse liners, paddle boats and cargo ships go up and down the Mississippi river. This is Southern relaxation at it's best. The French Quarter is 10-15 minutes away.
No Smoking. No Pets. Early check-ins are available at $50 per each hour prior to 4:00 p.m. Late check-outs are free if available.

We loved our stay and it was as a great location. The house worked great for our family. The check in and out was easy and the host responded very quickly.
The home was perfect. The house was very clean and comfortable. It was in a great area to explore New Orleans and the surrounding areaOne thing though make sure you pack some bath soap and shampoo, other than those things the house was complete. The back patio was perfect for a glass of wine, catching up with your day and relaxing.I would definitely rent this house again
Great communication with the host. House is in a quiet neighborhood about 15 min from the French Quarter and 30 min from the airport. Plenty of street parking, which is a huge bonus in NOLA. House has great character, clean and nicely appointed. House could use a little TLC here and there, but overall in good condition. Beds were very comfortable.

Liked: Check-in, location, listing accuracy
Disliked: Communication
Pros: spacious, enough room for us all Minimum traffic on the street in the daytime. Comfortable as far as air conditioning. Quaint and cute.Cons: no communication with host. Attempted several times to reach out to him, and he did not respond back. Big gaps in entry/exit doors, had to put towels between the gaps and felt very unsafe because kitchen door was not sturdy and needed to be replaced. Bathroom leaked at bottom in last bathroom. Reached out to host and no response. Termites noted on kitchen island. Could use a good high cleaning for cobwebs. Was asked to wash towels, but there were no detergent in the house. We were not told that there were tenants upstairs and we kept hearing footsteps and noises. Because of all of these issues, i would not use this host again. Also at night, there was a lot of cars going up and down the street and was very noisy, making it difficult to rest on the front bedroom. Remote did not work in bedroom #3.
Amazing start, beautiful home. Enough space to accommodate My family. We will definitely love to stay at this property again. Larry was very responsive..
The rooms are spacious, and there are plenty of bathrooms. The neighborhood is quiet and the neighbors would wave as they walked by with their dogs. A nice quiet place for our group to share a meal together and sleep in comfort.
We had a nice stay -thank you. we were welcome by a classic old house with huge porch and high ceilings. the house was perfect for our multigenerational group of 6. Property was very close to listing- the beds all clean and king size. No pictures of bathrooms but they too were clean and great. 2 tubs and one walk in shower . There was a small half bath off dining room that no one even needed to use but an option if needed.Kitchen pretty well stocked with basics. Plenty of towels - old but clean. Freezer door handle was nearly falling off - we needed to shut ice maker it was making noise at night ( but no ice) Temperature control was great- used extra blankets first evening as it was cold ( each room also had space heaters and some fans for hot days). Think there was AC but we didn’t need. Many TVs but we didn’t use any so can’t say if they work. 2 hair dryers Our only concern not knowing area at all was the flimsy locks on all doors and front room window/doors. Arriving at night it felt a bit unsafe but we were there for 3nights and it was fine. The house is old but modern at same time. Interior is beautiful and classy ( better than photos) It was overall quiet however you should know that the front room can hear car traffic and oddly on Thursday evening there was an unusual amount of cars driving by at 11-12. We assumed it was overflow from sugar factory up the street which the person sleeping in front room said they could hear a humming all night.
The home was even better than expected. Close to a donut shop and grocery store, nice front porch to enjoy our morning coffee before headed off to the french quarter. Would stay here again!!
The house had a lot of character and is in a nice location! The owner was extremely helpful and speedy and responsive when it came to communication! The house is huge and beds were comfy! Great stay!!
Excellent location and the whole house was comfortable and easy to maneuver. Having the washer and dryer was a plus as we were staying in the area for about week in total.
When the Vrbo site wouldn't give me the access information, the owner was in top of it making sure we had a great time!
We had a great time staying at the house. It was very clean and super spacious! My party of 8 all enjoyed our stay. I loved the high ceiling with the chandeliers and the beds we’re comfortable. I definitely would stay here again. Getting an Uber or Lyft was super easy and didnt have to wait very long.
The spacious ground floor apartment is a comfortable accommodation near enough to the French Quarter to quickly access by car, but far enough away to escape the overenergized bar scenes and throngs of tourists. We highly recommend!
My husband & I, along with two other couples who are dear, lifelong friends, take an annual trip together. We call ourselves the “Travel Buddies”. NOLA is now at the top of the ranking of the best trip ever!
Our authentic low country 1905 bungalow was the crowning jewel of our trip!
Excellent stay in a quiet neighborhood only a fifteen minute drive to the French Quarter, where the parades and festivities were. Plenty of parking for the vehicles we rented, and bus stops a few blocks walk away. There were several small shops within walking distance, but many were closed for the celebrations. Larry was easy to reach when we needed anything. The house was clean and bright. Well stocked cooking and eating necessities, but we did buy more toilet paper, as there was only enough for a couple days, and no laundry soap. Would definitely recommend for a small group or family vacation!

Beautiful home
Larry and his son are great and very accommodating. The home is pretty and very comfortable and the neighborhood is safe. We meet a few of the neighbors and even they were as sweet as pie too! Location wise though we wish the house was a little closer to the French quarter and other landmarks as it turned out to be costly to catch uber or a taxi to travel back and forth

Well, there are ways to look at the location. Yes, it is 3 miles down river from the French Quarter and you have to pay a cab to go there, however the rental cost is half compared to the rentals near the French Quarter. Also, there is the safety issue. This house is in the safest neighborhood in New Orleans. There are no worries about feeling safe at this house. I cannot say the same about the neighborhoods surrounding the French Quarter. I know this because I do own other houses by the French Quarter and the rent is double, but they are walking distance to the French Quarter. So there are pros and cons to both locations.

I live in this area all of my life. My family has been living in this neighborhood for more than 100 years. I am the property owner.
Why they chose this property
Why This Property? Because it is not in New Orleans, but only minutes away. I make this point because of the New Orleans Crime. I enjoy all that New Orleans has to offer, but I love coming back and sleeping in a safe crime free neighborhood.
I bought this house because it is a great historic home. It's in a wonderful neighborhood. I remember this home as a child growing up. I was happy to have the opportunity to purchase and restore this old treasure.
What makes this property unique
The best that New Orleans has to offer is just minutes away. This house is close to many waterways, offering charter fishing.
