Drift Away is a vacation rental that sits at the edge of the shoreline and boasts iconic views of the ocean. Right outside your door are shallow, turquoise waters, great for swimming, paddle-boarding, kayaking or exploring, and just 1 mile away is the pristine, white sand beach that stretches the whole northern shore of Spanish Wells.
Drift Away has 2 en-suite bedrooms/bathrooms, both with breath-taking views of the sea. The guest bedroom upstairs also opens onto it's own private deck. The cottage has an open living and kitchen area with nice, high ceilings and opens onto a covered porch, great for enjoying evening cocktails or a relaxing cup of morning coffee. The living room has a queen pull-out sofa that can also sleep 2 people.
Drift Away has a large, manicured yard with lots of room for the kids to run and play and also a gazebo that sits right over the water; great for relaxing while keeping an eye on the kids or for a barbecue with the family. Also included are 2 kayaks for exploring the shoreline or surrounding areas, and an outdoor shower!

The house was exactly as pictured. It was peaceful and secluded but also a quick golf cart ride away from town. Becky made the check in a breeze by reserving our transportation from the airport to the ferry and having our golf cart waiting at the dock. The kitchen has everything that you would need and then some. We will definitely be back soon!!

Breathtaking! Peaceful! Rebecca is the best host! Everything was a 10. House is fully stocked- thinking of everything. Outside- the private cay was so nice and easy to get into water. I would highly recommend Drift Away! Rebecca will arrange everything for you from ferry, golf carts, lists of restaurants and excursions!

Amazing property

My husband and I just returned from this amazing property. If you have been to this island that you know it is pretty laid back. This property is so beautiful and we laid out all day everyday on that back deck. Although there are neighbors it is very quiet. The home is well stocked for cooking (not that we did it often) and also has some floats in addition to the Kayaks. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing stay.

Exceeded High Expectations

Drift Away is an incredible property! It has beautiful views, great bedrooms and great outdoor areas. We used the kayaks and floats and spent lots of time in the outdoor areas, including the fantastic waterfront sitting areas. The house itself has everything one would need. We will definitely be back and highly recommend it!

Million Dollar View

We have stayed in Spanish Wells/Russell Island several times, this house and the view is in the top tier of houses we have stayed at. The view is well worth being a short golf cart from Spanish Wells and the main parts of town. I highly recommend staying here.

Amazing!

This was our second stay here and loved it again! The house is amazing, but the property is even better! Daily visits by sea turtles and Sting Rays! Great view of fireworks from the park! What more could you ask for! If there was a 6 star this place would get it!

Perfection

This is our second stay at Driftaway, and there are no words to express how perfect this was for our family. The beautiful Bahamian waters just steps away, a comfortable home away from home. We loved everything about this property and this lovely island.

Tropical Paradise!

A perfect tropical family getaway! The house was clean, spacious and we loved the ocean decor! We had a great day with "Captain Kid and son" exploring by boat with a delicious lobster lunch on a private beach! Our favorite place to eat was the Shipyard Resturante!

Drift Away was such a gem! Beyond our expectations, very comfortable, updated furniture and the outside area was outstanding. Very private. The only thing I would add, is that it would have been nice to have a small ( drawer) dishwasher. We ate in quite a bit and it would have been nice to pop everything in a dishwasher.

Peaceful paradise

This lovely house was a perfect getaway for two sisters from hectic California. Beautiful warm waters just steps away from the house. A gentle splashing of waves carried in with the cool breeze. Clean, comfortable, modern accommodations. It just doesn't get better. We had a blast learning our way around Spanish Wells in our golf cart.

Dreaming of Drift Away

As you pull into the property- you are greeted by a beautifully painted driftwood sign with Driftaway - that takes your eyes down the impeccably landscaped property - and landing on the magnificent bougainvillea that surround the front entrance of the cottage. Your eyes travel immediately from the front entrance- through the windows of the back of the house -permeated with the many shades of emerald and turquoise of the ocean. The pictures online do not do this property justice- as if possible- is more beautiful than we could have imagined. Every detail thought of, everything looks brand new. From the beautifully appointed furnishings, to the pristine and healing colors of paint on the walls. The kitchen - held every utensil and fully stocked with all the essentials needed. The outside area- could not be more surreal, comfortable, and picturesque. Lounge chairs situated in the perfect spot- surrounded by tropical shrubs, allowing for a feeling of privacy and complete tranquility. Beach towels galore- Not to mention- Kayaks and an incredibly crafted kayak ramp to make even that effortless. A hammock for an afternoon nap, or to star gaze at night. The owners- a dream team of craft and design to make this a dream come true. Thank you for sharing this dream house with us all.

We absolutely loved everything about this house! Being so close to the water was payless. It is like you‘re living in paradise. A dream!

If you’ve found this spot, you should book it with no hesitation. You will have private waterfront access, on a property and in a home that is meticulously maintained and contains all the amenities you could need. There is a list provided of many of the food, groceries, water jug refills, activities, etc on the island - with contact info, hours, etc - as well as menus for many of the popular spots to eat. On top of this, lots of info about the house itself is written and provided. Amongst all of this are business cards for local charters and activities as well. It was nice to have a full-sized washer and dryer for clothes. It was also nice to have air conditioning for sleeping - but it wasn’t necessary during the day, as we simply opened all of the windows to cool down the big, airy living space. The kitchen is fully stocked with cookware, bakeware, and appliances, plus some spices, oils, and condiments. Beach and water gear is provided (rafts and chairs), though we only found a single beach chair.Kayaks are provided as well, and there is a helpful kayak ramp along the rocks to help you get the kayaks down from the house to the water without damaging the boats. There are child and adult life vests as well. There are some books, a pair of binoculars, and smart TVs (which we used to stream some music while we ate some dinners at the house). The wifi works well.A dream of a stay.

Wonderful

My husband and I stayed here for his 50th bday. The property is beautiful. We plan to rebook for next year. We spent 10 days just relaxing and exploring the island. There is a nice beach nearby, but we soent every day on the sun deck, walking 20 steps to the water to cool off. The house really has everything you need! The master bed is very comfortable. We only used the AC one night as you get a nice ocean breeze.

Perfection

There isn’t a detail that was missed on this rental. My husband and I came to Spanish Wells for our anniversary and rented this house and we loved it! From the porch to the deck to the dock to the decor and fresh flowers, it couldn’t have been anymore perfect. We were able to cook ourselves breakfast (house was stocked with basics we needed), go out on the dock to watch the sunrise/sunset, kayak, bone fish right in front of the house, and explore the island with the golf cart we rented. We hired a few guides to take us bone fishing and swimming with pigs. What a relaxing weekend and a really neat island.
