About this property

Large family mountain retreat on Buck Run with a stocked pond in Leetonia Pa.

Note: the property has been winterized and will reopen in april. The pristine remote location makes this cabin extra fun and the large fabulous home welcomes families. It is a perfect place to wind down and explore the Pine Creek Gorge area. Please note, there is no wifi or cell coverage at this location!

Located on Buck Run with a beautiful stocked pond, yard, plaza with large outdoor firepit and gas grill. Four bedrooms and three and a half baths, great for families and groups. Nice pets are welcome. Room for RV's and extra cars. This is great for hunters, bike riders, hikers, motorcyclers, writers, nature lovers and fishermen. There is a very nice , clean and well lit kitchen. The huge dining room table is the home's center. Also in the kitchen area is the living room with a huge stone fireplace. The large great room has another fireplace, kids area, reading nook and many other uses.

This house is best for two couples and kids. The primary and secondary rooms on the first floor are for adults. The bunk room with 4 bunks and half bath and the loft room (up a spiral staircase) with 3 beds and full bath is for kids.

The person that rents this cabin should be able to: change a tire, jumpstart a car, light a fire, light a gas furnace, unclog a toilet, back a trailer and other tasks.

There is a house phone but no wifi or any internet service at this location. The closest location for cell phone coverage is 1.5 miles uphill (Lee Fire Tower).

There is an eight mile dirt road leading to the house either from Cedar Run or Gaines. SUVs recommended. Nearby towns include, Gaines, Cedar Run (Petticoat Junction), Blackwell and Slate Run. Wolf's General Store in Slate Run is approx 12 m. away.

This camp was built and owned by the Reece family for several generations. The current family has owned and renovated the cabin for the last 40 years.

This house is best rented by the week. $1200.

Ideally we would like to find a family of sportsmen and sportswomen who would rent this amazing cabin for several weeks per year for many years. All of fall hunting season is available. Also all July.

Great cabin in remote area

Great location if you want to visit the PA Grand Canyon. Lots of mountain roads to explore to view the various flora and fauna of the PA Wilds. Would return for another visit with family.

The house is in a wonderful, super remote location with no tv or cell, which we loved. The furniture is very dated, dirty, and uncomfortable. There are many upright chairs around. The kitchen is equipped for cooking. The only street light for miles is right next to the house, so you can't see the dark skies from the house. Nice firepit and grill.

Great getaway!

This is a true mountain cabin quiet and relaxing close to many class A trout streams along with breathtaking overlooks and vistas! The kids had a blast at the stocked pond on the property! The owner of the cabin was great with communication! Will definitely be looking to plan another trip back to camp buttercup!

Quiet week

The location and serenity are great. It was a great screen time detox. The property inside could have used a little better cleaning, cobwebs in showers, light fittings and ceiling fans. With the temps being in the high 80's the kitchen area got pretty hot so some ceiling fans in there would have been great. The need to bring bedding was not apparent on the property description and was only discovered after asking the host specifically. All in all an enjoyable stay in a beautiful part of the country

Why they chose this property

This has been in the family for 40 years. We are always thrilled to get there after the long dirt road. This remote area is perfect for outdoor persuits. I like to ride by dirt bike on the the mountain roads.

What makes this property unique

This is a very comfy mountain house is a very remote and beautiful area. The pristine creek ramblin 24/7 never gets old. The stocked pond is a blast for kids.
