For hikers and nature lovers, nearby trails include the Tunnel of Trees corridor, the Sturgeon Bay Trail in Wilderness State Park, and Headlands International Dark Sky Park — stunning Lake Michigan views, old-growth forest, and easy-to-moderate terrain. You don't have to be a serious hiker to fall in love with the trails here.

The location is unbeatable. Walk to Leg's Inn (seasonal), the Cross Village public beach, The Village Mart for ice cream and essentials, and Three Pines Studio & Gallery. Black Barn Farm is literally at the end of the road— farm-fresh eggs, pasta, and milk straight from the source. Three additional seasonal shops are all within walking distance.

A note on the layout: Both sleeping areas are upstairs via a charming but steep original staircase — two twin beds in the landing area and a queen bedroom beyond. The bathroom is on the main level. Worth knowing before you book.

Harbor Springs is 25 minutes away via the Tunnel of Trees scenic drive. Mackinaw City is 23 miles north for easy day trips.
