Old Fairview Cabin is a beautiful one-bedroom, custom built log cabin. It is located just minutes from downtown historic Abingdon and minutes from the Virginia Creeper Trail. It offers a relaxing and refreshing atmosphere. Old Fairview is family owned and operated, insuring an immaculate and refreshing log cabin ready for your visit. The cabin was built by the owner and his family from logs dating back to the 1800's. It is located on the property of the owner, nestled in a patch of trees providing a very peaceful and relaxing setting. There is an outdoor fireplace on a covered back porch and a covered front porch where you can sit and enjoy the scenery. The cabin is fully furnished and has a full kitchen with stove, microwave, dishwasher and refrigerator. The cabin features a loft bedroom with a queen bed and small antique twin bed. There is cable TV and a large walk-in tile shower. Bathroom is on lower level and the bedroom is on the upper level.

Perfect place on a mountain surrounded by trees and nature. Benny the dog and another female black lab came by to visit. It was so quiet and peaceful. I’d definitely stay again if I go back to Abingdon.

The cabin is extremely clean and very nicely furnished. Hosts are the best. Everything we needed was already provided. Collie (named Benny) is so friendly, playful. Our only regret is that we didn’t stay longer. Phyllis and David are Premier Hosts!

Fantastic getaway

Beautiful Cabin Weekend

Everything about this Cabin is 5 Stars. We absolutely loved it, and our host / owners Phyllis and David treated us more like family than guest! Can't wait to go back, I highly recommend this property for a getaway.

Wonderful cabin

We enjoyed our stay, once again, at Old Fairview Cabin. The cabin is fully equipped, comfortable, and very clean. Beautiful location close to all things Abingdon has to offer - Virginia Creeper trail, art galleries, restaurants. Phyllis and Dave are fabulous hosts. We hope to visit next year!

A Great Weekend

My wife and I stayed here for a long weekend to ride the Creeper Trail and explore the Abingdon & Damascus area. What a find this cabin was. We were very impressed with the cleanliness of the cabin and all it had to offer. The location is close enough to town yet just far enough out that it is quiet. If we return to Abingdon again we will be staying here!

We really enjoyed our stay in the log cabin. The first morning when I got out of bed, I looked out the kitchen window & saw 2 deer making their way slowly through the woods. I love the outdoors so the peace & serenity are exactly what the doctor ordered. Excellent location close to the Bristol track. Everything you need is in the cabin. Would definitely come back to visit again.

Second visit and hope to do it again!

If you are looking for a time of peace, calmness, and relaxation, this is the place to book your next vacation. You are made to feel right at home and Dave and Phyllis make sure you have all you need to be comfortable. I watched from the kitchen window a small deer walking through the woods and just calmly lay down beside a tree for almost 30 minutes. Hope to book a third stay when time allows. Thank you so much Dave and Phyllis for making this cabin available.

Old Fairview Cabin - Abingdon

Exceptional! Only complaint we had was that we didn't stay longer. This little cabin is even better than described. Phyllis and David have done a great job with this beauty. Close to town, everything you can think of was included (really, everything). We couldn't have been more blown away by the cabin. Don't second guess if you are considering renting it. You will be pleased. We plan on going back as soon as we are able.

Beautiful

Stayed 2 nights. Went to the creeper trail E-bike which was so so. The trail would have be better if it wasn’t raining. The cabin was beautiful and cozy. Small but perfect for my husband and I. Would diffidently come again when we could stay longer.

Cabin in the woods

Great experience

My husband and I stayed at the cabin and it was exactly as described. It was a perfect location to the town if Abingdon. We rode the shuttle from Abingdon up to white top and biked the whole 34 miles back to Abingdon. Loved the cabin and the owners were very accommodating. Hope to go back with the kids one day.

My husband and I were both born and raised in the area. My husband is self-employed and I work part-time in an orthopedic office. We have a son, daughter, three grandchildren, and a border collie. We both enjoy the outdoors and this area has so much to offer with The Virginia Creeper Trail, Barter Theatre and many great restaurants.

Why they chose this property

My husband built the cabin over a three year period, initially as a guest house on our property. In 2011, we began renting it out and it has been a great experience. We love the area and feel it has so much to offer our guests.
