Living spaces

The open living area centers on a wood‑burning fireplace, perfect for gathering around with a board game or streaming a movie on the Smart TV. High‑speed Wi‑Fi is available, though the remote setting can sometimes make the connection slower or spotty—downloading content ahead of time is recommended.

- Propane grill and spacious deck for al‑fresco dining

- Screened‑in porch with plenty of seating and views of the first golf hole

- Ample parking and a selection of outdoor games

Resort amenities

Guests have access to The Woods Resort’s 18‑hole golf course, tennis courts, swimming pool, spa, restaurant, and pub. Walking and hiking trails wind through the property, offering quiet moments among the trees.

Neighborhood & activities

A short 15‑minute drive brings you to Berkeley Springs, where a historic mineral spa maintains a constant 74.3°F temperature. Cacapon State Park, about 25 minutes away, provides over 6,000 acres of hiking and wildlife. Nearby you’ll find breweries, wineries, cafés, art galleries, and a donut shop, as well as options for fishing, golfing, and water recreation within a 20‑minute drive.

Pet policy

The lodge is pet‑friendly for dogs; we love welcoming families and their four‑legged members. Cats are not allowed due to allergies.

Practical notes

The cleaning team sweeps the deck, stairs, and walkways before each arrival, but leaves from the surrounding woods may still be visible, especially in certain seasons. Central heating and air keep the interior comfortable year‑round. Enjoy the blend of adventure and relaxation that makes this mountain escape truly special.

Great property and community

We were very pleased with The Woods - the community is beautiful and our kids loved the pools. This property was fantastic for our family and was possibly the cleanest rental I’ve ever had. It was well stocked and I appreciated that the linens were provided and beds were already made. My only suggestion for improvement would be to provide more towels per guest. Thank you for everything.

new grandchild visit

It was a long way away from everything up a mountain via two lane winding roads not lit at night. The home was clean and easy to find with GPS. There was a stain on the comforter, towel bar missing in master bath and the water pressure in the master bath was poor making face and hand washing difficult. I was hoping there would at least be a little coffee there for the pot but no such luck. Every morning the big dogs next door would start barking at around 7am when the golfers would be on the green or we appeared on the deck or in the window. We asked for passes to the fitness center which were provided to us easily but when we got there they refused to let my husband have a towel for the steam room which ended up not working anyway. It was a couple of miles drive from the home so no way of walking there. Difficult to walk around the woods because of the narrow roads and no sidewalk or shoulder. It wase a beautiful property and we were comfortable there once we got used to the roads but avoided driving at night and made sure we picked up everything we needed before heading up the mountain. I left the remainder of the coffee and filters I bought for the next guests so they can have coffee the first morning before heading to find a store. I found the management company easy to contact and they responded quickly so that was nice.

I live in DC with my wife and three young kids. I love camping/hiking, drinking (and sometimes brewing) great beer and wine, exploring new restaurants and shops, and traveling all over.

What makes this property unique

We spent years searching for the perfect getaway, and wanted to be close enough to DC that we could do a day trip. We fell in love with the area – and this cabin in particular. We love how cute and cozy our chalet is, and all the fun outdoor activities we can enjoy year-round. :)
