About this property

Amazing Views, Hot Tub, Fire Pit, Deck & Fireplace

Summary:
Stoneridge Chalet is a secluded chalet cabin made from hand-cut stone, perched at the top of a mountain ridge with spectacular views.

The highlights:
- The views! See for miles across the valley & enjoy the sunset
- Relax in the outdoor hot tub
- Grill on the deck, or hang out & cook s’mores around the fire pit
- Cozy up inside beside the wood-burning fireplace
- Stream movies or take video calls on WiFi
- Drive to Winchester or Harpers Ferry for great shops, restaurants, & wineries

The Space:
Our unique stone chalet cabin has all the comforts of home, just nestled away at the top of a mountain in the heart of West Virginia. Stoneridge Chalet is fun for couples, families, or groups of friends -- and is the perfect home base for your getaway!

The cabin includes:
- Two bedrooms, both with queen beds (plus sleeper sofas in the living room & downstairs family room)
- A spacious, wraparound deck for grilling & relaxing with a glass of wine (with an outdoor bistro patio set)
- Open and bright, light-filled sunroom
- WiFi to stream movies and hold video calls
- Wood-burning fireplace
- Central heat and AC (to keep you comfortable, no matter the weather)
- Kitchen with new appliances (including dishwasher)
- Washer and dryer

And outside the cabin, you’ll also enjoy:
- Private hot tub, perfect for relaxing when watching the sunset
- Outdoor fire pit with Adirondack chairs for the whole gang
- Outdoor yard game treasure box full of activities for kids and adults: corn hole, soccer and kick balls, horseshoes, and many more!

We often take our three little kids and dog to the cabin with us, so we're very family- and dog-friendly. Unfortunately we don't allow cats (we're allergic).

Please Note:
Our property is nestled in a beautiful mountainous area—perfect for relaxing and unplugging. Please note that the roads leading to the home may be gravel, uneven, and winding in places. While most vehicles can access the property, slower driving is advised, especially after rain or during winter months. For added comfort, we recommend a 4WD/AWD vehicle with good clearance.

Wi-Fi is provided, but due to the remote setting, service can sometimes be slower or spotty. We suggest downloading any essential content in advance.

Thank you for understanding, and we hope you embrace the adventure—this peaceful, scenic setting is what makes your mountain escape so special!

Beyond the cabin itself, we’re a short drive away from three main destinations in West Virginia: Berkeley Springs (with great shops and restaurants), Harpers Ferry (for river rafting and Civil War history), and Winchester (the closest of the three, with tons of restaurants and breweries). And of course there are many good hiking trails nearby too!

Beautiful cabin getaway!

We were exceptionally pleased with the quality of the cabin and the associated amenities: the hot tub, multiple balconies, and bedroom alcove exceeded our expectations. Cozy, fun, and great views!

AMAZING VIEWS, peaceful, and quiet

Great place to stay in order to "get away from it all" The views in the fall are absolutely amazing. The place comes with all you would expect, and great hot tub and fire pit, with super comfy outdoor chairs. Recommended and would stay again!

Perfect for a weekend getaway!

This cabin is perfect for a small family or couple to getaway for the weekend. It was clean and everything worked. The views are amazing. It is close to the property next door but there is a privacy fence and the neighbors were quiet.

Nice little getaway

The property was great for our short getaway. The house was nice, though a bit rough around the edges, but nothing too concerning. There was a slight musty smell when we entered after being away for a bit. We were surprised to find neighbors right next door. We loved the hot tub and the outdoor fire areas—they were fantastic! The view was spectacular, and we really enjoyed our morning coffee with it.

Lovely and relaxing vacation spot

My friend and I had an awesome time with a long weeks day at this property. Communication with the owner was super easy, check in was a piece of cake, and the weather was perfect. If you’re nervous, driving on steep mountain roads, heads up that the last bit can be a little bit hard in a regular car. It was close to everything we wanted to see and do, and it was great to be able to relax in the hot tub at the end of the day. Definitely would recommend to others, and I am sure will be back!

Relaxing getaway

The cabin was exactly what we needed for our first anniversary celebration. It was very peaceful and relaxing, and the hot tub was fantastic. The highlight of the cabin was the views, we hung out on the deck most of the stay. The only downside of the cabin was the mattresses in the bedrooms, they were very hard and uncomfortable and the living room furniture could have been more comfortable. I would definitely recommend the cabin for anyone looking for an escape from the everyday grind.

Awesome

Just an amazing cabin with a view hard to beat. Everything about our stay was perfect. The hot tub was the perfect welcome home after a day of exploring Harpers Ferry and small hike on the AT. Tony communicated by text and checked a couple times to be sure we didn't need anything. I highly recommend this property. Tom and Marie from Tonawanda New York.

Restful Stop

An overnight stop on a road-trip. The house is a few miles from 81 with a very pretty drive. Picked it because of the great view and the hot tub. Both were exactly as described. Quiet area. Off street parking. I would definitely stay here again. One thing to note, the gravel driveway does have an incline (which is why you get the great view). It is not terrible steep but a good FYI depending on the vehicle you drive.

We made last minute plans to get out of town and unwind, this location was perfect for such an endeavor. It was remote enough to enjoy the peace and solitude yet still close enough (20 minutes) to grocery/dining to make going to get something or going out convenient. We thoroughly enjoyed all the amenities and appreciated that they allowed dogs. It even rained and we were able to enjoy the fireplace and board games that were available. The owners were very attentive and checked in throughout our stay, even updating us on current state mandates. The only item I would mention would be remain mindful if you drive a low sitting car, we did not have any issues navigating the driveway so long as we drove slow.

The place is simply amazing, calm and quiet has a beautiful tomorrow and sunset, the site team (Tony) were very attentive, only a few details should solve how the dishwasher was not working, the trash can was breaking in making put your hand every time in the trash can, and a small malfunction in the switch that turn on the lights of the jacuzzi, but it is a cabin in the middle of nature, these details did not spoil our experience on the contrary we intend to return another time!

This property was listed as a Smoking Not Allowed property, which I double checked as I have asthma. We arrived at the property and promptly had to leave as the property smelled strongly of years of cigarette smoke inside. This triggered a severe asthma attack for me which left me sick for two days. I am still fighting for a refund even though the fault was clearly not mine but rather the listing.

Beautiful Properties

I have nothing but rave reviews for Tony and his colleagues at Blue Maple as well as their properties. Due to the weather, our original rental was not accessible which was disappointing to my boyfriend and I as we were very much looking forward to unwinding. I called the company and they found us another property they manage nearby so we could get away. This property was absolutely gorgeous, clean, and very well maintained. If we had a question, the host was very responsive to assist however they could. We will absolutely be renting through Tony and Blue Maple again. Tony, Adrienne, and everyone else, I cannot say thank you enough for all of your help. We had an incredible stay and cannot wait to stay with you all again. Thank you!

Between Shenandoah and DC

The place had a great hot tub and view of the rolling hills. Lots of trees kept you secluded from neighbors. It was also fun to be high up on the hill and look out over some of the other houses.

okay, but not what it looks like

the pictures are nice, but not what the place is, over priced for sure, its old and they have updated some stuff, shower is nice for example and bed mattress is good, but per prior reviews if it is summer the upstairs bedroom does not cool down very well, also they allow dogs which is great but there is not much room for them outside, there is a house right next to this one.

Snake infestation

The grill cover was on the deck floor indicating that the cleaners were never there. It was full of a dozen or more snakes. The owner/host was disengenuous in his nagatiatio s with me. We stayed one of the four nights we paid for because we had our dog and couldn’t find a hotel. . We received no refund. Also The cabin was dirty, with broken furniture.

Cozy quiet place

We liked this cabin very much. The location is awesome. Really close to the town, shopping and dining, and at the same time you feel there like in the remote forest. The view is great, especially from the sunroom. There is enough outdoor furniture for a big family. If you have a big car or a truck it could be tricky to get to the driveway. But the parking space near the cabin is big enough for a couple cars and for turning around.

If you want a good night's sleep, don't stay here.

I booked a two night stay a few days ago. This was a last-minute reservation and I'm sure that the place would have gone vacant if not for my reservation. The place is truly rustic. The floor is uneven. You will need a four-wheel-drive vehicle to make your way up the driveway. The first floor bedroom had an old mattress that was too firm. However, the worst thing about my stay was that I could not sleep. The second floor bedroom was a sauna. Even with one fan on me the whole night, I could not sleep. The ceiling fan was not working. I obviously didn't want another night of sleeplessness so I let the owner know that we were departing one day early. I received a lame apology but the owner still insisted on charging me for the second day. That is absolutely ridiculous. A bad experience and unscrupulous owner. Over $400 flushed down the toilet for nothing.

Great Stay

The Chalet was a great place to stay. We didn't use all the amenities but it was nice. Some of the trees around the property could be trimmed back to offer a better few of the amazing mountain side. I am sure it's even better during fall or winter. Its only 15 mins for a small town with food option and some shopping and 30 mins to more shopping options. At lot of grear towns 35-45 mins away. Very quiet place to just unwind.

I live in DC with my wife and three young kids. I love camping/hiking, drinking (and sometimes brewing) great beer and wine, exploring new restaurants and shops, and traveling all over.

Why they chose this property

We spent years searching for the perfect getaway and wanted to be close enough to DC that we could do a day trip. We fell in love with the area – and Stoneridge Chalet in particular. We love how cute and cozy our cabin is, and all the fun outdoor activities we can enjoy year-round. :)
