About the host
Hosted by Monique Dorsainvil
Splitting time between DC and West Virginia with my wife Monique. We appreciate the quiet of being in nature and the beautiful landscapes of the mountainside. As avid travelers, we love meeting new people and exploring new places!
Why they chose this property
The Nest is centrally located around some of the Eastern Panhandle's go-to destinations, including Berkeley Springs where you can enjoy hot springs, antique shops and cafes, Shepherdstown and Charles Town for restaurants, breweries and old town charm, and Harper's Ferry and Cacapon Resort State Park for outdoor adventures, including hiking, whitewater rafting, kayaking and more. The Eastern Panhandle also has significant history to explore throughout.
We invite you to enjoy West Virginia's wild and wonderful by day and retreat to The Nest for gorgeous sunsets and star-filled skies by night. Or you can just never leave and enjoy curling up with a book, game night with loved ones, the tree-lined mountain views from our deck, and strolling through our 5-acre property while hanging out with the wildlife. What makes this property unique
A quiet sanctuary nestled on 5-acres among the mountains, The Nest Chalet offers relaxation, privacy, the outdoors and quality time with friends and family, with a break from the day-to-day hustle and bustle. Guests are invited to enjoy:
- A light-filled space with central AC/heating with a large Loft and a Master Bedroom on the main floor. Both rooms have sky lights and big windows. The Loft also has a star gazing window and a portable crib for infants. The Master Bedroom comes with a private work space and porch.
- Modern kitchen with microwave, oven, InstaPot, Ninja Blender, toaster, coffee/tea, pots and pans, olive oil, balsamic vinegar, and a well stocked spice rack.
- Board games, books, smart television and solid WiFi. We recently upgraded our home to include satellite provided internet and have been delighted that guests can now check email, browse the internet, stream and video conference.
- Clean linens and fresh towels as well as complimentary shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and other products in case you forget yours at home.
- A large yard where you can relax and take in the breeze while laying in the hammock. Our 5-acre property sits on old logging trails, so if you're feeling like stretching your legs, the path off the driveway into the woods offers a quiet, short stroll among the trees.
- A fire pit and outdoor deck where you can grill and enjoy stunning sunsets/sunrises and the beauty around you, including sightings of deer, rabbits, turtles and the occasional fox.
