About this property
Loft-style chalet w/hot tub & fire pit
The Space:
The pine‑scented air greets you as you step onto the wraparound deck, where steam rises from the hot tub and the fire pit crackles under a canopy of stars. Inside, the wood‑burning fireplace casts a warm glow across the open living area, inviting you to unwind after a day of exploring the woods. The loft‑style chalet feels both spacious and intimate, a perfect backdrop for quiet evenings and lively gatherings alike. Here, the rhythm of the forest sets the pace for a truly relaxing escape.
Sleeping arrangements
- Upper loft: king‑size bed tucked beneath the peaked ceiling.
- Main level: two bedrooms, each with queen‑over‑queen bunk beds.
All linens, extra pillows, and blankets are provided for comfort on cooler nights.
Bathroom & laundry
One full bathroom offers a bathtub and bathroom essentials. A washer and dryer are available for longer stays and winter gear.
Kitchen & dining
The fully stocked kitchen includes everything needed to prepare meals, from coffee makers to cookware. A dedicated dining table sits nearby, perfect for sharing breakfast while watching the forest wake up or enjoying dinner after a day on the trails. A smart TV and Wi‑Fi (note: service can be slower or spotty due to the remote location) support streaming and video calls.
Outdoor living
Step onto the deck to grill, soak in the hot tub, or simply breathe in the crisp mountain air. The private backyard opens to a spacious yard where a natural stream flows just behind the house. Even in cooler months, the fire pit offers a cozy spot for s’mores and stargazing.
Family & pet‑friendly features
Children’s books, toys, board games, and children’s dinnerware are provided, making the chalet welcoming for families. Pets are welcome, and the property includes a pet‑friendly policy with no extra fees mentioned. A private entrance, free on‑site parking, and self‑check‑in via lockbox ensure a smooth arrival.
Neighborhood & activities
Located on a one‑acre wooded lot in Gerrardstown, West Virginia, the chalet is a short drive from Berkeley Springs, Harpers Ferry, and Winchester. Nearby you’ll find shops, restaurants, breweries, hiking trails, and seasonal outdoor activities, giving you plenty of options whether you prefer adventure or relaxation.
Additional notes
The cleaning team sweeps the deck, stairs, and walkways before each arrival, but natural leaves, pollen, or similar may still be present, especially during certain seasons. Wi‑Fi is included; we recommend downloading any important content in advance to enjoy uninterrupted downtime.

About the host
Hosted by Tony Cappaert
I live in DC with my wife and three young kids. I love camping/hiking, drinking (and sometimes brewing) great beer and wine, exploring new restaurants and shops, and traveling all over.
Why they chose this property
We spent years searching for the perfect getaway, and wanted to be close enough to DC that we could do a day trip. We fell in love with the area – and this cabin in particular. We love how cute and cozy our cabin is, and all the fun outdoor activities we can enjoy year-round. :)
