About this property
An acclaimed photographer's country home, near private schools!
This Federal Style home has many original details, a center hall with an arched entrance and a spiral staircase going up to the third floor. Five bedrooms with "Heavenly Beds" furnished with period antiques and fine linens. Our dining room can accommodate ten adults and two children. The living room has a concert quality Steinway piano which can be used on request. The paneled library room has an entertainment center hidden behind folding doors. The kitchen is fully equipped with the latest appliances and many extras.
Many of Don's famous photographs are on display throughout our home, including two books of his work. His photos include those Bob Dylan, Billy Holiday, Miles Davis, Aretha Franklin, Barbra Streisand, Leonard Bernstein and Glenn Gould.
We have two great outdoor eating areas, a terrace and patio, available in warmer months and the large Weber Grill can be used year-round. The grounds can accommodate outdoor games such as croquet, badminton, horseshoes and various ball games. There is a ping pong table in a basement rec. room.

About the host
Hosted by DeeAnne Hunstein
We purchased our home in Sharon when our children were young. We bought at an auspicious time, as we were able to afford an estate that had only been in two other families, with a 17th century home and much land in a sleepy little New England town. We enjoyed fixing it up over the years and keeping it's historical charm. The area was also a draw for artists, which both my husband and I are, he was an acclaimed photographer, and I am a singer. We have continued to maintain an apartment in NYC, but prize our Sharon home for family reunions with our grandchildren, and the beautiful gardens I cultivate.
Why they chose this property
The area is a convenient jumping-off point for exploring a rich variety of arts activities and outdoor sports opportunities. Other favorite activities include antiquing, dining, and going to art galleries and summer music festivals. The area is now active all year round and doesn't die down after the summer residents depart. And best of all, it is an easy and pleasant drive or train ride from New York or Boston.
