Five double bedrooms with "Heavenly Beds" furnished with period antiques and luxury linens. Our dining room can accommodate ten adults and two children. The living room has a concert quality Steinway grand which can be used on request. The elegant paneled library has an entertainment center hidden behind folding doors. The kitchen is a chef's dream with the latest appliances and many extras.

Many of Don's famous photographs are on display throughout our home, including two books of his work. His photos include those Bob Dylan, Billy Holiday, Miles Davis, Aretha Franklin, Barbra Streisand, Leonard Bernstein and Glenn Gould.

We have two great outdoor eating areas, a terrace and patio, available in warmer months and the large Weber Grill can be used year round. The grounds can accommodate outdoor games such as croquet, badminton, horseshoes and various ball games. There is a ping pong table in the rec. room and a fire pit outside.

Beautiful Home
We stayed in this beautiful estate home for a week. It is like going back in time to a house originally built in the late 1700's. It's less than 15 miles from Lime Rock Park Track and is perfect for a large group. The ONLY complaint we have is no air conditioning and the internet was not very good- and cell service is almost non-existent. But if you want to get "off the grid" this is a beautiful home, well appointed, the kitchen is fully stocked, the home is on 30 acres, and plenty of parking.

Sharon Ct Relaxing Family Summer Vacation
Fun vacation if you like to relax. We enjoyed swimming at local beach with our grand daughter as well as hiking in area. Well appointed house with outdoor Bar-b-que. Nights were cool so not having AC wasn't a problem. Everyone shared the one shower but the top floor bathroom was handy with tub as well as the powder room on first floor. House was clean and caretaker was helpful. Loved going out to dinner at Le Gamin in town of Sharon.

Lovely home
Everything was comfortable and very neat and clean. Lovely grounds. No air conditioning- it was warm when we were going to bed but then did cool off overnight. Would highly recommend!

About the host

We purchased our beautiful country home when our children were young and needed an escape from New York City. We bought at a auspicious time, as we were able to afford a gracious estate with a 17th century home and much land in a sleepy little New England town, which later became a favorite destination for the wealthy and famous. It was also a center for artists, which both my husband and I are, he is an acclaimed photographer and I am a singer. We have continued to maintain our NYC residency but prize our Sharon home for family reunions with the grandchildren and the beautiful gardens I cultivate.

Why they chose this property

The area is crammed with arts activities and outdoor sports opportunities. Other favorite activities include antiquing, fine dining, and going to art galleries and summer music festivals. The area is now active all year round and doesn't die down after the summer residents depart. And best of all, it is an easy and pleasant drive or train ride from the city.

What makes this property unique

+lounging in the library before a crackling fire
+sitting on the side porch and looking at the birds
+drinks on the flagstone terrace, watching the sunset
+breakfast on the patio surrounded by flowers
+listening to music on our audiophile system streamed throughout the house
+handicap accessible and pet friendly
+very close to 6 private schools including Salisbury, Berkshire, Millbrook, Hotchkiss, Kent and Kildonen
+so much to see and do: Tanglewood, Sharon Tri-arts, Cascade Winery, audubon / raptor centers, chamber music, skiing, fishing, music festivals and much more,
