About this property
Gorgeous, quiet cabin close to Summerhaven
Large tri-level cabin in a quiet spot just a half mile walk into Summerhaven. Easy drive to Ski Valley, popular trails, and Rose Canyon Lake. Weston Lodge has room for everyone with two big primary bedrooms with king size beds, a huge loft that sleeps up to a 6, three living rooms, two kitchens, and three full bathrooms. Perfect for a group trip, where you can all be together but also sneak in some quiet time. The cabin is among the trees with amazing decks and hiking right out your front door.
The space
A quiet dirt road leads to the cabin, making this a very private property despite being so close to Summerhaven. Drivable in a car spring through fall, but trucks, SUVs, or 4x4 will make it easier. The last 0.2 miles does not get plowed in winter.
The upstairs/main area has a bedroom with King size bed, ensuite bathroom, kitchen, living and dining areas, and a large loft with two twin over full bunks, full bath, a lounge area, and two great decks. Downstairs living area has a bedroom with a king size bed, large bathroom, full kitchen, and living and dining areas. The downstairs is also equipped with a pack n' play and air mattress so kiddos can easily sleep nearer to guests in that bedroom.
Large wrap around decks on the two main levels and mini decks off each side of the loft allow for great views among the trees.
Please note the pictures of the spiral staircase connecting the multiple levels of the property - not ideal for young kids.
The two kitchens are stocked with all pots and pans, silverware, and dishes, plus spices, cooking oil, vinegar, ground coffee, and basic condiments (ketchup, mustard, mayo, syrup, and hot sauce). We also have a toaster, coffee maker (ground), air fryer, ninja sizzle grill, and pressure cooker available on the property.
While we strive to provide as many amenities as possible, cabin life has some limitations we want our guests to consider:
1. Water is limited on the mountain so please be considerate with your usage.
2. Critters large and small are a normal part of life in nature so don't be surprised to see them around.
3. Trash service is not available so you will need to haul your trash back down the mountain with you. There is a $100 additional charge if trash is left on the property.
4. Fire is a big risk on Mt. Lemmon so no outside fires, smoking, fireworks, or anything similar are allowed, no exceptions. Since this is one of 129 cabins that didn't burn down in the 2003 fire, it is surrounded by mature vegetation. Our insurer will not allow gas or charcoal grills, unfortunately, so we have an electric ninja sizzle flat top for outdoor grilling.
5. There is limited cellular service at this property. We do have Starlink WiFi, which works great, but it can have rare interruptions as this is a remote location. Streaming works well, video calls are iffy.
6. Once snow starts to stick around, Weston Lodge is only accessible on foot. There is parking along Turkey Run road at the bottom of Guthrie, and you'll need to walk up 0.2 miles to the cabin.
7. This is a rare pet-friendly cabin. To help us keep it that way an additional $75 pet fee will be collected for cleaning supplies and general wear caused by pets.
8. The winters are hard on the deck paint, FYI.
The home is beautiful and we know you'll have a wonderful time experiencing nature and all it has to offer with the added bonus of comfy beds and full bathrooms!
Guest access
Nest locks are used on both front doors for access.
Cabin is located 0.2 miles up a dirt road. Once you arrive there are two parking spots (one outside each entrance).
Once snow starts to stick around (usually January - March), Weston Lodge is only accessible on foot. There is parking along Turkey Run road, and you'll need to walk up 0.2 miles to the cabin.
If water happens to be turned off at the property (the water company does this occasionally) there is a turn on near the road by the upstairs parking spot. Open the lid to the in-ground hole closest to the road (there are two) and turn the handle at the back of the hole so it points toward the cabin.
Other things to note
This is a gorgeous cabin, unique for the area, and will offer a wonderful relaxing place to enjoy everything Mt. Lemmon has to offer.
There is no A/C, but it is not needed due to the positioning of the cabin and the tree cover. There are ceiling fans in the loft. Central and radiant heat for cold days in the winter. Central heater is loud when blowing, but it doesn't turn on for long once the cabin has been heated. We also have space heaters available.
Please closely review the entire listing to ensure it is the right fit for your group!
