About this property
Spacious 6BR | Hot Tub, Fire Place & Pitt | Pet Friendly | Ski Sugar next door
Welcome to the Sugar Nest, a cozy 6-bedroom, 3-bathroom cabin that is the perfect post-adventure retreat for a multi-generational family or group. Immersed in the scenic mountain setting while conveniently located minutes from the slopes of Sugar Mountain Resort and close access to everything the area offers. Come in the spring for the perfect temperatures while enjoying a cup of coffee or wine on our large wrap around patio. Escape the summer heat and roast marshmallows around the campfire after a day of hiking, biking, rafting, and more. Drive the Blue Ridge Parkway in the fall and enjoy the fantastic colors of the leaves. Warm up in the hot tub this winter after hitting the slopes or enjoying other winter activities! Short drive to Banner Elk, Boone, and Beech Mountain in the beautiful High Country of North Carolina. We would love to host your next vacation so you can make the best memories with your loved ones!
The space
The entire property is newly renovated! Nestled in the lush trees, it features a large wrap-around deck with a hot tub, a giant Weber grill, and dining, lounging, and sitting areas. Plenty of Adirondack chairs circling the fire pit, along with many outdoor games to keep everyone entertained.
The home's inside features an open living area connected to the fully stocked kitchen and dining room for great entertainment. Expansive six bedrooms allow guests to retreat to their private spaces, and two queen pull-out couches for additional sleeping arrangements when needed!
Guest access
As the old saying goes, mi casa e su casa!
Our guests are welcome to use all parts of the property. There are no shared spaces with other properties.
We have an electronic keypad for easy access to the home; you will receive the code up to 48 hours before your arrival.
While the house sits on a relatively flat surface, roads leading to the house can be windy and narrow.
We are located on the mountain, and a 4 Wheel Drive / All-Wheel Drive car or tire chains are highly recommended between November and March.
Refunds will not be issued due to inclement weather. Please make sure to purchase travel insurance to avoid disappointment.
Other things to note
Before booking, make sure to read the house rules.
Take a look at the neighborhood details further down in the listing. The cabin is in such a central great location with so much to offer year round.
Always feel free to reach out to us if you have any additional questions or concerns.

About the host
Hosted by Sugar Nest
Why they chose this property
When we acquired The Sugar Nest, our goal was simple: create the most family-friendly, high-value lodge on the mountain. We noticed that most large groups were forced to choose between ultra-expensive luxury estates or splitting up into multiple cramped condos. The Sugar Nest bridges that gap.
We love this property because of its "flow." The main floor lets grandparents relax by the fire without navigating stairs, while the upstairs becomes a haven for cousins and kids to bond. The location is the sweet spot of Sugar Mountain—high enough to get the breathtaking views and cool summer breezes, but low enough that you aren't spending 20 minutes just driving down the mountain to get a gallon of milk.
Whether you are grilling on the deck in July or soaking in the hot tub after a snowy January ski day, this home feels like a hug. It is not pretentious; it is comfortable, durable, and ready for your family's chaos and joy.
