The Drake West Bungalow was built in 1915 as one of the original homes for the lumber mill workers that populated the area during that time. It has been totally restored and remodeled with 'green' efficiency building in mind, but the house still perfectly reflects the classic charm of its era. This one bedroom bungalow is perfect for those wishing to be within a beautiful stroll to the park, river, downtown Bend, and the popular west side where you can enjoy everything from quaint bakeries to superb restaurants, unique galleries to seasonal festivals, bike and recreation equipment rental shops, and not to mention some of the greatest microbreweries in the country-- all right outside the front door. The Drake West Bungalow is the perfect place to have all of Bend right at your fingertips.

This is a private, standalone house exclusively for guest use. The house, grounds, hot tub, and parking area are unshared. We have complete contactless check-in for the convenience and safety of our guests.

All towels, linens and bedding are included. We also leave guests a small amount of starter supplies including: toilet paper, paper towels, dish and laundry soaps, hand soaps, bath soap, shampoo, and coffee bar items mentioned above. We also provide blow dryers, iron and ironing board. Please plan accordingly to bring anything else you may wish to have with you on your trip.

Note: Guests who book this home will be required to sign an auxiliary rental packet with specific rules and information included, such as neighborhood quiet hours, check in and out time restrictions, and non-smoking policies. If you are traveling with a pet, please select "dog" at checkout. You will also need to sign a copy of our pet rules.

My husband and I have been managing and renting vacation homes here in our hometown of Bend, Oregon for over 17 years with our business, Home Spun LLC, and we love what we do! All the vacation homes in our Home Spun LLC exclusive collection provide distinctive alternatives to traditional lodging in Central Oregon. Our places provide a one-of-a-kind experience by offering amazing downtown locations, top of the line amenities, and personal service. We are picky about which homes we represent. Each home has been handpicked so our guests can experience an inviting and unique vacation with privacy, scenic surroundings, recreational opportunities just moments away, and the amazing city of Bend at your feet.

Why they chose this property

All of the vacation homes we manage are located in the Galveston Avenue District or Historic Downtown Bend area. We love that our guests can park their car and explore all the best parts of our city on foot or by bike, getting a real chance to explore and fall in love with our sweet little city.

What makes this property unique

This house is over 100 years old and we love the historic features and feel of it, paired with modern amenities. My favorite hidden treasure: the little wire bunny rabbit that sits on the kitchen shelf to this day. It was fashioned out of old wire during a lunchbreak and hidden in the walls by the original builders of the home. It stayed there for 90 years prior to a drywall remodel when it was discovered with some old newspapers that had been used for insulation and an early 1900's bottle cap.
