Great location, 1 block from the beach with a lovely view of same. Nothing like fresh sea air for a reviving getaway. And the bed was really comfortable, which is saying something because I am picky .1/2 block to one great restaurant. A nice mile long walk to another, and plenty in the area.

The layout, the cleanliness, the amenities and appropriations, were exceptional. The view of the ocean is acceptable. The proximity to the beach, restaurants, and stores is superb. We availed ourselves of the hot tub each day and it was so relaxing. We collected small bit of drift wood and enjoyed an evening by the fire pit. It was more than we had anticipated. We are planning a return trip and hope that you do not take our planned dates! If you do, you, too, will enjoy it!

The smell is a but more potent than i thought it would be. It was a little hard to sleep, but by day 2 i started to get used to it, but its a tough, Very chemically smell, like one that will give you a bad headache.. We kept outside biking most of the time, and other than that smell, place was wonderful, very clean and much bigger and cozier than I was even thinking.l. Location was perfect too. Other than the smell, it was really a great place to stay.

The location was great! Having a hot tub to warm up in after swimming in the cold Pacific was nice. We loved the big bed!The kitchen could use a cutting board and the kitchen sink faucet was leaking.We spoke to the host about issues around the hot tub.Overall we enjoyed our stay.

Great location near the bluffs - beautiful sunsets, sounds of the surf, walks on bluffs and beaches. Nice interior with treehouse-like feel - looking out the large north windows into the branches.

It is not a full kitchen. It's what is basically a hot plate and a counter toaster oven that due to the fact it's all on the same breaker, you can't use at the same time. The view is fantastic you can watch the ocean to your delight and the beach is literally a three minute walk, so you are able to sleep to the melodic sound of the sea the entire stay and the air my Lord is fresh you feel invigorated by it. It's a nice getaway for a couple.Go to Sam's for sea food.

Seaside Escape

The home was very comfortable and clean and was right next to the beach. Was a great experience and I would recommend this place to everyone looking for a quiet getaway. Restaurant is excellent that is right next door as well.

We had a lovely stay in this gorgeous home. We especially enjoyed using the BBQ grill and the amazing hot tub! It was wonderful to walk to the ocean right down the street and explore the neighborhood. Our hosts were always ready to answer any questions and address any concerns we had.

By all the standard measures, this is a fine property, administered with a high degree of professionalism. On the other hand there is a high probability that the property was constructed with toxic materials which may make it unfit for occupancy.Noted in the house rules and in multiple reviews is a reference to an odor, or scent, which, depending on the weather may be stronger or weaker. To help mitigate these odors there are multiple fans, air filters and room fresheners in the unit. On our stay, upon entry to the unit, the odor was surprisingly strong, permeating the unit. We thought maybe “ant spray,” or even “oil spill.” (?)The explanation from the host was that the odor was from the “tsunami grade” framing, used for safety reasons.While “tsunami grade” isn’t a construction term, “marine grade” is. Infused with a complex mixture of pesticides and petrochemicals, it protects wood from insects and rot. The odors you will notice are most likely from the off gassing of VOCs (volatile organic compounds), which can be hazardous. Symptoms of exposure include irritation to eyes and throat, and headaches.We had rented the unit for a week. After two nights we decided to vacate.

The hot tub was clean and warm Jets were spotty in terms of them working or not. The odor was a bit much at first, but I did get used to it quickly. It was not an issue. Having guests above you and being able to hear them walk around is important to be aware of, but was not an issue. Could be for others. Overall, great location for the price and very comfortable living space large bedroom, and bath make this a perfect couples retreat or small family.

Completely Wonderful Stay

It was the beach vacation experience we were hoping for. The location is perfect. Miles of trails extend each direction on the cliff tops. The Miramar Beach Restaurant has a terrific pianist & delicious food and is steps away. The accommodation is very spacious and the hosts are organized and responsive.

You can hear the waves!

My husband and I stayed here for a parents weekend away. We loved it! The property is literally a few steps away from the beach, you can hear the ocean while you sleep. It is located up the high way from HMB downtown. The space is clean, hot tub was nice (but took a bit to heat up so plan ahead), and we walked to several restaurants (The Barn, Mirimar Beach restaurant).

We love visiting Half Moon Bay and this location was perfect for us. It is near some of our favorite restaurants and the beach is close enough that you can hear the surf. Friendly staff, I met Fernando after texting Stephanie regarding the TV (I couldn't work it). He was very helpful. Our last night we returned from dinner to find that I left the key on the kitchen table! And that's when we met Stephanie. In spite of the hour, and the inconvenience to her, she was quite pleasant and understanding. Thank you Stephanie!

The property was not as decribed. the house was not fully clean, including hot tub! When my husband and I walked in we were overwhelmed by the smell of 6 cheap, wax, air freshners placed in the front room, kitchen, bedroom and bathroom, triggering severe migraine & nausea. The windows that could be opened and the front door did not have screens, so when opened everything up to get fresh air, we immediately had flies. I contacted owners, however they did not assist because property manager was vacation or out of town. We had to find an alternative place to stay overnight before heading back home. We have stayed in other VRBO rentals and loved them (5 stars)...I think we are still in shock regarding this one.
