The Loft Suite offers a comfortable, thoughtfully designed stay with beautiful lake views for romantic getaways, couples’ weekends, or a relaxing escape. Smith Lake B&B is a private lakeside resort on Alabama’s pristine Lewis Smith Lake, known for its deep, clear water and peaceful natural setting.
The Loft is a one-bedroom, one-bath apartment with a full kitchen. Its decor blends alpine ski lodge warmth with a light coastal feel, creating a relaxed, inviting atmosphere. The vaulted ceiling adds to the open feel, with a king-size bed in the bedroom and a sleeper sofa in the den.
Guests enjoy access to shared amenities including a lakeside gazebo with gas and charcoal grills, a hot tub overlooking the water, and a large dock with lake access and slips for boats or jet skis. Fishing gear, floats, kayaks, and paddleboards are available for complimentary guest use. Parking is available for cars, trucks, and boat trailers.

About the host
Your host
The main house of Smith Lake B&B was constructed to be a small B&B on the shore of the lake in 1992. It was operated for a few years before being sold. It served as a family vacation retreat for about 8-10 years until acquired by Jim and Alex. They opened their lakeside resort for business in 2005. Jim and Alex worked overseas for about 15 years in several different countries. They traveled extensively and stayed in pensions, ryokans and other B&B-like lodging. Alex wanted to open a B&B on a lake when they returned to the USA. After an exhaustive search in the Tennessee Valley, they settled upon Smith Lake with its clean, uncrowded water, beautiful rock shoreline and affordable property. They have made a few modifications, added the Airstreams and boat dock and catered to many guests who visited Smith Lake. They added Real Estate services to be able to show lake properties to their guests.
The B&B has hosted guests from Europe, Asia, and Australia. We have had visitors from many states and have found property for many of our guests. We take pride in the level of service we provide.
