This 2 BR 2 bath second floor luxury condominium is located in The Uplands of the Mauna Kea Resort and is accessed through the Westin Hapuna Beach Resort entrance drive, but is recessed from the bustle of the hotels. The condo’s Great Room, lanai, and master bedroom all overlook the 4th fairway of the Westin Hapuna Beach Golf Course and have amazing, expansive, unobstructed views of the Pacific Ocean.

- Amazing unobstructed 180-degree ocean view with spectacular sunsets seen from the great room, master bedroom, and the spacious wrap around lanai

- Located 30 minutes from Kona International Airport (KOA). There are many upscale restaurants and shops either on the resort grounds or within a short drive

- Rental includes the option to purchase an amenity package pass to the Mauna Kea and Westin Hapuna Beach resorts. This pass allows access for your group to the resort swimming pools and to their amazing white sand beaches, with complimentary towels, chairs, and umbrellas (rental of cabanas and some beach equipment is available for a fee). The pass includes the use of the resort fitness center including lockers and showers, and gated parking at the hotels and fitness centers. Amenity package holders are allowed special guest rates at the resort golf courses and at the Mauna Kea Tennis Club. A resort charging privilege account is set up for these pass holders that allows signing privileges throughout the resorts during the stay.
Please note that the resort amenity package purchase is optional and is separate from the VRBO condo rental. It must be arranged with the resort ahead of arrival at the condo and has a per day fee per condo for the length of the condo rental, regardless of the number of guests. Note all fees are plus tax and are subject to change at the resort's discretion. Guests without the amenity package can visit the shops and restaurants at the resorts and pay full price for the golf, etc. Note that all beaches on the island are public and free with limited public beach parking at the resorts.

Fantastic Condo - Highly Recommend It!

I've stayed in quite few vacation rentals and this one has to be the best one ever. The location was perfect - very quiet and private with incredible ocean views and sunsets. We took advantage of the resort package and it was very nice to have access to the amenities at the Mauna Kea and Hapuna resorts. Communication with Bob, the unit manager, were very easy as was check in and check out. The unit was very well appointed and had everything we needed. Will definitely stay there again.

Fantastic!!

This condo is terrific!! Very clean, large rooms, nice bathrooms, gorgeous lanai with perfect panoramic views of of the ocean! Online photos don’t do it Justice! Be sure to buy the amenities package so you have full use of the Westin and Mauna Kea pools, beaches, etc. Worth the extra money! We’ll be back, for sure!

condo near Mauna Kea beach

This was a great condo to rent with optional access to Mauna Kea beach for additional charge. This is my favorite beach so the reason for condo location. The bed was too soft for me, but I realize that some folks don't like firm beds. The kitchen was great and had basics to cook with which I always appreciate. It also had basics for cleaning, paper towels soap and laundry detergent which are simple to provide but not fun if you need to run out and buy to do a couple of cycles. I would rent this again in the future.

AWESOME CONDO! VERY CLEAN AND ALL WORKS WELL! CLOSE TO 2 OF THE BEST BEACHES!

This was our best vacation we had thanks mainly to the VRBO condo that was perfect for our family with our 2 young teens (19 &16) in beautiful Kohala area. 2 minutes away from Hawaii's 2 best wonderful beaches. Weather was awesome there, as this is the driest part of the whole Hawaii. 5 inches of rain only per year! The internet was very fast and easy. (Important for kids). The condo was extremely clean.. We are coming back here to this VRBO Condo rental for sure! BBQ was brand new too.

Excellent condominium for a Hawaiian family vacation!

This is a great place to stay for a family vacation in Hawaii. The condo is in an excellent location, especially if you do the amenities package at the Mauna Kea / Hapuna Prince hotels. Each is only a couple of minute drive from the condo. We enjoyed spending time at both hotels (Mauna Kea probably a better beach for children, the Hapuna has a better pool). Hapuna golf course within walking distance (about a 15 minute walk, all down hill, to the clubhouse). The condo has spectacular views and the lanai is great for morning coffee, an evening cocktail, or even an afternoon nap. Both rooms are spacious and the master bathroom and walk-in closet are great. Very well appointed (ie, Viking appliances, etc.). There were also boogie boards, etc. in the closet. We would definitely recommend to others and would definitely come back.

Heavenly trip to Paradise

My wife, 18 month-old daughter, and I traveled to this unit for a week vacation in June. Overall we had an excellent time. The property manager arranged a wonderful full sized wooden crib for us and our daughter slept like a rock! The unit is immaculate and fully furnished in luxurious manner including all the trimmings in the kitchen. We rarely felt the need to eat out because we preferred to barbeque and eat on the lanai as the sun was setting. We requested a mid-week cleaning, which was done but was rushed and so we refused to pay for it. The manager supported us on this and listened to our complaint with professionalism and courtesy. The access to the two resorts was great because you can leave your stuff in your unit and travel light. I would HIGHLY recommend this unit over others in the community (we looked at a few) because of the high end furnishings and the view. The manager is excellent to work with and we will be returning to this unit (possibly for a month next year). Thanks to Bob for being a GREAT manager. I came home and bought the same barbeque I loved it so much!

Kumulani B4 - Perfect

We stayed at the Kumulani condo for a week with our two teenaged boys. The condo was perfectly equipped for a family. The boys shared the front bedroom and bathroom and my husband and I used the master suite. We purchased the amenity package and really made good use of it. We tried both exercise facilities, multiple restaurants, the game room at the Mauna Kea and both beaches. We were a little put off by the "free" required valet parking at the Mauna Kea, preferring to park our car ourselves, but both resorts had ample parking and quick beach access. It was great to be able to cook most of our meals at the condo and then splurge on fun drinks, appetizers, and the occasional meal at the resorts. We spent most days at the beach, but did take time to explore Kona and to drive to Hilo, checking out waterfalls and the small towns along the way. There is a pool associated with the condo complex that is about a two minute walk, but we never really explored it, preferring to head to the Hapuna Beach and Mauna Kea pools and beaches instead. We stopped at Costco right after we arrived at the Kona airport and stocked up. I wish we hadn't because there are great grocery stores that are only about a 10 minute drive from the condo with a much more interesting selection of food. The local grocery stores were little more expensive, but I think we would have come out ahead because we purchased some bulk items at Costco that we were unable to finish. The condo kitchen is pretty well appointed. In the fridge and cupboards we found basics like spices, vinegar, ziploc baggies, etc. We are coffee junkies and liked that we had the choice of a french press or regular coffee machine. The drip coffee maker even had a grinder, but we couldn't figure out how to grind the beans without also using the coffee maker so we had to purchase ground coffee. The condo also has a nice grill and we enjoyed grilling our dinners on the deck. Toward the end of our visit we discovered an unlocked closet with boogie boards and other beach items. By this time we had acquired two boogie boards of our own and contributed these to the condo collection. When we had too much sun and retreated to the condo each afternoon, the condo wifi easily handled everyone plugging in at the same time and catching up on Facebook, Netflix, email, etc. All the web info and pictures accurately represent the location and the condo. We would definitely stay there again. A week is not long enough!

April Anniversary

Location, view and quality of property were fantastic. Could not have picked a better spot for quite restful location. Even that we were on a golf course, that still did not take away from solitude. West side of Island the driest side of island, but sunsets and moonsets , was more than an offset. Short drive to most anything we needed and good drives to mountains, ranches, volcano and dining. Absolutely would re-book.

Wow! The pictures do not do this unit justice. The ocean views over the beautiful golf course are spectacular. Bob was super responsive, and the kitchen was high end and well-stocked. The pool is quiet but nice-we paid for the amenity package and went to the Mauna Kea every day. Impressed to at how well stocked the condo was, felt more like a home than a rental. Paradise

We had traveled for ten days on Oahu and Maui before our stay at this condo on the Big Island, and we were thrilled that this was our home base for our final week in Hawaii. The condo is in a gorgeous location with unforgettable views. It has everything you could want in a vacation home. The furnishings are clean and comfortable. We purchased the amenities package and truly enjoyed using the two resorts’ facilities. We also used the neighborhood pool, which we had to ourselves! One note - we struggled to figure out the TV but rarely used it so not a big deal.

A lovely 2 bedroom/2 bath condo. Top floor on Mauna Kea property with availability for rights to the best beaches (Mauna Kea and Hapuna) and hotel amenities. Couldn’t ask for a more helpful condo manager. And the most gorgeous sunsets. Manta rays at beach, ready to snorkel with or just watch at night. So much to do. Why they chose this property

One of the premier resorts on the Big Island of Hawaii. It is close to the Westin Hapuna Beach which has been voted one of the world's top beaches by Conde Nast. It is close to shopping and restaurants. Golfing, surfing, boating, biking - all activities you would like to do in Hawaii are here. The area is not as crowded as Oahu, and the Big Island is large enough to explore and enjoy with excursions that could include horseback riding, rain forest treks, Volcano National Park, stargazing, whale watching, fishing, etc. Or just relax with a good book.

What makes this property unique

Close to the Mauna Kea and Westin Hapuna Beach resorts and all they have to offer. Golf courses, tennis, beaches, surfing, sunning, relaxing, and, in our humble opinion, the best ocean and golf course views of the condos at the Kumulani. Great shopping not far at the King and Queens shops. Waimea town is only 30 minutes away and has 2 large grocery stores, a performing arts theater, and many shops with items from clothing and gifts, to electronics.
