This place checked all our boxes! Quaint, quiet place with access to white pine trails. We explored paths north and south and because kayaks were available to rent we got a fun 3 hour ride down the river with some fun rapids. Can’t wait to come back.

This place is a great little get away. Angie is a wonderful person and a great host. If you want an affordable quiet and enjoyable get away I recommend this. We enjoyed walks to the river, and sitting by a campfire each night.

Fabulous Getaway

This was such a great little place to stay. Wonderful location, close enough to town if you need anything, but quiet, private and right next to the hiking trail and river. Angie the owner is just the sweetest person and made sure we had everything we needed! Definitely be staying here again.

One Night Visit

This is a great little rustic getaway. Angie, the owner was working on the property and she was very nice and friendly. Make sure to take a short walk to see the Muskegon River ... Very peaceful and serene.

Bed was a little on the small side, but that was OK we were on our anniversary lol. And could have used a little longer hot water for the shower in our cabin. But other than that, very cozy, cute and well maintained. We would definitely recommend.

Angie did a great job with answering any questions I had before and during my stay. The campground was fun to walk around and explore. There is access to a nice paved trail for biking or walking, and the kayaking was amazing. The town of Big Rapids was just a short drive with a super cute little downtown area. I had the best coffee ever at Belle's Coffeehouse. The Jim Crow Museum at Ferris State University is a must see. My only complaint would be that the hot water in the shower barely lasted 5 minutes, so had to be super quick.

We got to stay in a larger cabin because someone wanted to original cabin for multiple days and we were staying just for one night. We were in Cabin 2. The cabin had lots of room. The A/C unit kept the place cool on a day that reached 97F. The host turned on the A/C before we got there to cool the cabin down which was really appreciated since we just finished bicycling over 40 miles from Grand Rapids. The shower had plenty of hot water and good water pressure. The bed was comfortable. We were able to purchase ice for our drinks which was a very pleasant surprise. The cabin has a refrigerator and freezer. Everything was clean and comfortable. The White Pine Trail rides right in front of the campground entrance, so it was very convenient to get to when riding on the trail. The bicycle ride into east side of Big Rapids was less than 10 minutes. We had dinner at the Sawmill Saloon. Simple fare, but good. Wish we could have sat out on the back patio, but it was just too hot.

Return to Ferris university

We were prepared to stay at the property listed, but it didn't have an air mattress for my son, we didn't bring ours. So the owner was nice enough to move us into a bigger cabin (she offered without us even asking). Our time there was wonderful! We enjoyed our We we bisvisitexperienext?
