Our lake house is located in incomparable Sandpoint, Idaho. Sandpoint was voted the 'Most beautiful small town in America' in 2011 by USA Today and will blow you away with natural beauty, friendly people, abundant activities and a great food scene! Our lake house is an easy stroll from all the amenities of downtown Sandpoint but still has a private location right on your own sandy beach beside the beautiful waters of Lake Pend Oreille. The house is within easy walking distance to downtown Sandpoint. Feel like a coffee? Many great local coffee shops are an easy 8-10 minute walk. Eating out? Sandpoint is blessed with some diverse, delicious and affordable restaurants that are a few blocks away. Want to grab an ice cream and people watch? City beach is a 10 minute walk. Feel like shopping? The downtown business district which is full of unique shops is a short stroll. Other local attractions include Schweitzer Mountain Resort (20 minute drive), Silverwood amusement park (30 minute drive) and the Sandpoint Marina.

Perfect Stay For Any Season

Perfect fit for our family trip for skiing but would be an incredible stay for any season. East walk to downtown, short drive to the mountain, great waterfront location.

Amazing location beautiful home

We have stayed here twice and had an amazing experience with owner and house. Super nice and the hot tubs make those colder days awesome great alternative to spending day on the lake. Kids/teenagers walk to town. We all Had an amazing time in this beautiful community. This will always be our go to next trip to sandpoint. Definitely recommend this home!!

Building Memories

Since my husband’s passing, one of my goals has been to build memories with my children and granddaughter. We’ve had many getaways. This property met every expectation, then some. We will definitely make this a yearly getaway location!

As beautiful as the picture!

We had a great time and enjoyed the house and views very much. You have the best appointed kitchen I have ever used. Everything we needed was on site and given this crisis, it was nice not to need to leave the property. It would be fabulous in the summer as well. Thank you.

Family vacation

We had a wonderful time at this house. They were well stocked, except they need a larger no stick egg pan😀 We loved having the beach and dock right out the back door and the two swinging chairs were a hit. I loved that we could wAlk to town too. The only bummer was the teenagers that hung out on the public dock next to us. Otherwise it was fantastic!!!

Great place to stay with a view

This was a beautiful home, with an even more beautiful view. It was clean, comfortable and fit us just perfectly . There was 7 of us. Kitchen was spacious with a table that was more than big enough for us all. Bedrooms were great. Comfortable beds. Boys all stayed in the bunk room and girls got the polar bear room. Faser was easy to communicate with through VRBO.

Nice location, lovely view. Lake level is down in April so be aware if you are interested in fishing from the dock - isn’t possible at this location this time of the year. Located next to a public overlook, some limited public traffic. Home is nicely laid out. Stove needs to be upgraded.

Family stay on the lake, good, not great.

My family and I stayed here mid-July. Overall Fraser was good to deal with and responded, the location is very nice and the facilities/house are undoubtedly cool. All wasn’t perfect in paradise. We showed up and the beach was totally covered in weeds/milfoil, with dead fish matted in it (the smell was horrible). We waited 5 days before the beach was cleaned (sounded like it was extenuating circumstances and somewhat out of owners control, but regardless paying a premium for a sandy beach and lakeside experience and we were driving to the main beach every time we wanted to swim, definitely sucked). The hot tub water had seen much better days as well and was quite yellow with a big white foam coming up (which usually indicates uncleanliness and lots of product in the water) and so we didn’t use that after we saw). The kitchen and closets weren’t super clean and there was some dirt and spills, but otherwise the house is beautiful and the beds very comfortable. It’s a lovely location for sure.

Great waterfront location for family vacation

To start with, communication is excellent. Property owner is very easy to contact and usually quick to reply. The house is perfect for 2 families of 4. The outside area is where we spent all of our time whether it was dining, sitting having a coffee in the morning or a beverage in the evening, or relaxing in the hot tub (which was a great addition). Kids enjoyed the hanging chairs, spent a lot of their time relaxing in them. Our trucks did not fit in the garage which was fine, it actually allowed us to store all of our paddle boards in there. There is one parking spot right by the front door and the other vehicle had to park on the street which was never really an issue. Walking distance to all the shops and restaurants. AC worked great on those really hot days. Waking up and coming downstairs to that view of the lake through all the windows on the main floor was awesome. Bedrooms had plenty of space and the kids loved their room with the bunks. I would definitely recommend this place for anyone wanting the full lake experience. A few have commented on the public dock next to the property. There were times it was busy but most people were respectful. Would not hesitate to stay here again. Hopefully we will get to return in the future.

Vacation in a Zoom Background

Communication, home, kitchen, art, location and things I would have liked to know. First, owner was available for quick, immediate, accurate communication before, during and after. We may be friends now... Second, home is beautiful. Big windows open to the lake. Living room is warm and inviting. The master bedroom would be enough space alone. Sit at the kitchen table all night with meals, games and friends/family. The garage is a fantastic plus in the winter. Our photos in the house look like we are in front of a screen with a Zoom background. So kewl. Third, kitchen has everything you need. I challenge you to try and find something you would need that isn't there. We enjoy big homemade family meals and this was the place to prepare and enjoy those meals. The coffee bar was a well-enjoyed addition. Fourth, take in the art. The collection of art in this house is fun and interesting. Stop and take time to enjoy it. Especially the drunk frog above the door in the master suite. Fifth, the location is great. There are mountain views across the lake. The lights on the bridge are interesting at night. The lakefront beach and dock are in perfect shape. It's a long walk to town but you can do it...even in the snow. A couple things I would have liked to know. A) It's a duplex. No issues, but would have liked to know. Nice neighbors. B) The kitchen has everything. C) The bedrooms are smaller than they appear in the pictures, but that is fairly standard in VRBOs. D) The lake water retreats in winter. I supposed that is science, but still. So apart from the science, this was a perfect place for our celebration with three adult kids, one son-in-law, a significant other and a two-day old grandson. We hope you enjoy it as much as we did, but don't book it when we want it...cause we comin' back, sister.

Amazing accomodation for a week at the lake in Sandpoint. Stayed August 2025 (also stayed here 1 year ago in 2024,) for 1 week and the perfect weather didn't hurt. There are not many rental properties available in Sandpoint that are actually on the lake. The home is maintained immaculately, bedrooms are super comfortable, and the master suite is large. We stayed with our teenage/ college 2 kids, but the house is designed to sleep comfortably several more people; the kids room has 3 extra bunk beds, and the secondary has a pul out Murphy bed. Additionally, the property is maximized for entertaining several guests, and the outdoor spacde is not neglected. Hope to return again soon!

This property is amazing! Very comfortable, the back patio and lake view are spectacular and having the boat lift available alleviated any stress we had when the weather was less than optimal for docking our boat. The kitchen is like a small kitchen store--if you can't find what you need, then it probably doesn't exist! Plus--the art! Every wall had something interesting to look at and consider. Some guests mentioned a drawback of the public pier being right next door, but it was never a problem during our stay--the users were respectful that our beach side was private and actually provided some entertainment for us during our stay.

Winter Getaway

Incredible property with tons of amenities. I loved waking up in the mornings to watch the snow fall over the icy lake through the enormous downstairs windows. Great gathering space for our family reunion. I would absolutely stay again.

Weekend Trip on the Lake

Our family of 8 decided to take a weekend away for my husbands birthday. We loved the house which is beautifully decorated and laid out. The saltwater hot tub was a big hit even in the 30 degree weather. Overall, a great rental in a beautiful location.

Awesome lakefront property

Property description 100% accurate. From the photos, we wondered if they were using real-estate fisheye, but it is expansive in actuality. The space is super comfortable for 10 or so people, inside and out. For a small footprint, this home is designed to maximize comfort for a group, clean and well maintained, this place provides a perfect home base for a summer lake vacation. Spectacular Beachfront property vacation

Ski Weekend

We had a great weekend skiing at Schweitzer, the property was in a great location convenient to skiing and also restaurants and shopping. I was disappointed that the highly advertised new hot tub was an inflatable hot tub and was not heated enough for use on our first night, but we made due. The kids loved the bunk room and I appreciated the fully stocked kitchen.

Great location but needs a deep clean

Property is located in a great neighborhood right on the lake! Ample space for a group of 8. Not super toddler friendly so bring a couple baby gates if that’s a concern. Place was pretty dirty was the only downside, not sure if it just hadn’t been used in awhile, but it definitely wasn’t clean.

Location, Location, Location!!

This waterfront property is in a wonderful location to the downtown area for Restuarant's and shopping. The home has an artistic vibe inside, which adds to the fun! It has plenty of space for guests to be comfortable, yet room for privacy. We were there in the Fall season to enjoy the changing colors and relax, which is what we were able to do!

We are an active family, now with grown up children who all love the water, skiing and boarding. Our family time is a top priority and we have found no place we enjoy more than Sandpoint. Come and make some unforgettable memories at our lake house in Sandpoint.

Why they chose this property

We fell in love with Sandpoint & the Lake Pend Oreille area when we first drove through in 2006. The lake is one of the most spectacular places we have visited in North America. Sandpoint has an incredible atmosphere year round that changes with the seasons. There are so many great restaurants and downtown is alive with great local live music.
Schweitzer Mountain Resort is an easy 20 minute drive and has some of the best skiing and riding we have found. Schweitzer is a real hidden gem with great amenities. Even on a busy weekend there is lots of room to carve your own route down the mountain and you will never wait long in a lift line.

What makes this property unique

Our professional and family activities really keep us busy and it is such a pleasure to go to Sandpoint, park the car and hardly need to touch it again until we leave. Everything you want to do is right at your doorstep or a pleasant walk away.
One of our favorite outings, and one we try and do every summer, is to take the boat down the lake to Hope or west to Dover Bay Marina and have an unforgettable meal at one of the great lakeside restaurants. The late afternoon boat ride, sunset, dinner and trip back is always a memorable highlight.
Our brand new hot tub is already a favorite and makes for a memorable way to enjoy the lake in both winter and summer.
