The Space:
Portland is all about supporting the local economy and artisans, and our custom furnishings and lighting were sourced within blocks of the building; we're happy to hook you up with our providers. Also enjoy curated artwork from local painters and photographers - these and other works are available for purchase at a special discount through us. If you can't fit a custom couch or loveseat or lighting fixture with you on the journey home, order a print to remind you of your stay!
The exterior of the building is unlike the larger box-style buildings around the city: rusted metal siding blends with painted stucco panels and black Shou Sugi Ban wood for a signature look along Hawthorne Boulevard. The building sits between the vibrant commercial stretch of Hawthorne and leafy side streets full of older Portland homes.
Inside, the apartment includes stainless appliances, an in-unit washer/dryer, 9-ft ceilings, large windows, cabinetry, quartz countertops, fast WiFi, and a laptop-friendly workspace.
Cooling and heat come from a mini-split in the living room. The bedrooms do not have individual AC units, so airflow can be less direct with bedroom doors closed.
Guest Access:
The entire apartment is yours - no shared interior spaces.
🔑 Self check-in with smart lock - arrive on your schedule

Everything you need for a comfortable stay is already set up. If anything comes up, we're a quick message away.
The Neighborhood:
Commonly known as “Foodie Row,” the Hawthorne/Buckman District puts you within walking distance to a wide variety of top-notch local flavors (no chain restaurants here!) Make new friends over some vegan poutine fries and grilled PB&Js at the Cartopia food cart pod, get messy with some wings right around the corner at Fire on the Mountain, share a pie at Apizza Scholls (consistently voted Portland’s favorite pizza), or opt for a fancy night out at Castagna - all within a 1.5 mile stretch. Portland isn't just for foodies. There’s vibrant indie spirit in Hawthorne, with lots of made-in-Oregon shops and boutiques to explore here in hipster heaven. Or, catch a movie at Bagdad Theater and Pub, a revamped 1920s theater turned view-and-brew venue serving local McMenamins food and microbrews. If bar hopping through neighborhoods isn’t your idea of recreation, head up to Mt. Tabor, a 196-acre city park on top of a dormant volcano vent, where you’ll find miles of hiking trails and incredible panoramic views of the city.
Getting Around:
🚶 Walking — This neighborhood sits between the Division and Hawthorne corridors, two of Portland's best streets for dining and shopping — both within easy walking distance.
🚌 Bus — TriMet Route 2 (Division) and Route 75 (Cesar Chavez) provide frequent service to downtown (~15 min).
🚲 Biking — BIKETOWN bike-share stations nearby. Portland's bike lane network makes cycling easy and safe.
🚗 Driving — Free street parking available (read signs for restrictions). Rideshare (Uber/Lyft) typically arrives in under 5 minutes.
✈️ Airport — PDX is about 16 minutes by car or a quick MAX + bus connection.
Other Things to Note:
🐾 Pet-Friendly Space
We welcome pets! Our cleaning team deep cleans between every stay, though we can't guarantee 100% dander-free for allergy-sensitive guests.
This is a second-floor walk-up near the Hawthorne corridor. Street noise may be audible, especially with windows open.
Cooling and heat come from the living-room mini-split. Bedrooms do not have individual AC units, so airflow can be less direct with doors closed.
