The Helfant Apartment is located 1.5 miles from the Colgate Inn and less than 1 mile from the Seven Oaks Golf Course. The apartment is situated above the garage on the left side of the main house. It is a completely private space with a full bathroom and a complete kitchen, including a microwave oven, a stove with convection oven and a mini-refrigerator. The apartment contains a small flat screen television and wireless internet. The bedroom has an air conditioning unit that cools the entire place in the spring and summer and electric baseboard to heat the main areas. The bathroom contains radiant heating underneath the floor and a heated towel rack. The apartment has birch flooring in the living area and bedroom and slate flooring in the bathroom. There is plenty of parking at the Helfant Residence as well as an electric vehicle charging station located inside the garage. The EV charger is available to guests and included in the nightly fee.

Visiting my Sister at Colgate

We needed a place to rest before helping my sister move out of her dorm. She attends Colgate and it is a 5 minute drive from where we stayed. This was a comfortable place and had everything we needed!

Just what we needed

We needed a place for my husband and I close to Hamilton and Astrid delivered. The apartment had all the amenities and was very comfortable! The location was perfect, parking was great and we look forward to staying there again in the future.

Lovely experience

It is such a beautiful experience to stay in this apartment! The room is very clean, with comprehensive washroom and kitchen supplies. The bed is soft and comfortable. Showering and cooking are also convenient. Heating works very well. The style of the apartment is cozy and cute. Most importantly, the host is so sweet and caring, communicating clear check-in instructions and always checking if everything is alright. Spend a wonderful weekend here!

A real gem

We loved this apartment, which (with its birch floors, skylights, and window views of the woods) had a Nordic feel. Super clean, comfortable, and well-appointed. An easy, minutes-only drive into town. A wonderful host (Astrid). Perfect for Colgate parents and other visitors to the area. So glad we stayed here.

Lovely quiet place off the beaten track

The room was immaculate! The room is over the home's garage, but skylights make the space well lit. Comfortable, easy to find, woods all around- I would stay there again, for sure.

I am a high school science teacher at Hamilton Central School. My husband is a professor at Colgate and teaches Russian and Environmental Studies. Our adult twin sons just graduated from college and busy entering the work force. We love the outdoors: walking, running, biking, hiking, and skiing. We live in a beautiful place!

Why they chose this property

Our property contains views of the woods in the summer and the distant hills in the winter. It has a large front and back yard with beautiful trees. Our home is close to downtown Hamilton and the Colgate Campus. The area provides excellent walking and biking opportunities in the summer and cross-country skiing in the winter.

The apartment is connected to the main house and contains views of the back woods. It has birch floors and cherry molding in the living area and bedroom. The apartment contains many windows and sky lights. It also allows for the perfect temperature control with air conditioning and electric heating.
