Slice of paradise

Estrella del Norte was just that. An amazing stay, the villa was in great condition. Nina was beyond fantastic with her service and her cooking. She went above and beyond for everything. We would def stay here again. I do suggest that if you go in the wetter or colder month to have a 4x4 vehicle as the roads are not the best and the location of the house has a few steep slopes. If traveling in a large group it’s best to have 2 vehicles since the weight also impacts the drive up hill. As for the property it would’ve been nice for the pool to be heated for when it colder season as we happened to be in when we went in November., especially being up in the mountain/hillside.

If a view is important to you, definitely consider Villa Estrella del Norte. The view is absolutely stunning.Villa is not air conditioned, but each bedroom has a ceiling fan and constant breeze meant we rarely used them.The road to the villa from the highway is very steep, but is navigable in an ordinary car without 4X4. 35 minutes from El Catey airport.The local property manager, Randy from AIC Dominicana in Las Terrenas, had excellent communication. Via phone, text, email, WhatsApp. Always replied quickly. Solved 2 issues promptly. Booked a taxi to pick us up from airport, and had small amount of food we asked for waiting in the frig.The maid (and cook if you want), Nina, arrived each morning and made our beds and cleaned. The caretaker/security officer, Roberto, lives in his own house on site and tended the pool and grounds and provided 24/7 security. We used Google Translate to communicate. Lovely people, both.The pool is not heated. 24C-27C in Feb, which was OK for some people but not for others.Willy's Taxi Service provided excellent service with good cars. 25 USD/1500 DOP one-way from villa to Las Terrenas. Communicated via translation function on WhatsApp.Scotiabank ATM in LT is convenient way to exchange money. Use Canadian debit card, withdraw DOP. If Scotiabank or Tangerine customer, no withdrawal fee, only the exchange rate, which was best in town. If debit card from other bank, 300 DOP fee.Highly recommended

La estadía en Estrella del Norte estuve muy bien, la pasamos súper en la casa, está hubicada, a 10’ de la playa . El acceso a la casa deberian informar que la entrada es por la calle de atrás y no por la salida porque sino el auto no gira para poder entrar. Otra cosa le falta espacio de estacionamiento y giro para salir.Nina es lo máximo, un amor de persona, muy servicial , hace desayunos increíbles y siempre manteniendo la casa limpia y en orden. Robert el cuidador también súper dispuesto siempre a resolver cualquier problema.La casa muy cómoda con una vista increíble, solo que necesita bastante mantenimiento, se nota que está venida un poco a menos . Pero el lugar es bien tranquilo para descansar y disfrutar de las vacaciones. Super recomendable.

Me encanto la casa, el hecho de que todos los dias llego una persona a limpiar, Roberto estuvo siempre pendiente y dispuesto a ayudar, lo único es que el acceso a la propiedad no fue fácil, descubrimos que estábamos subiendo por donde no era, seria bueno enviar un mapa con la explicación. Después de eso yido excelente, volveria con gusto.
