We really enjoyed our stay, it was peaceful and quiet. Location was perfect centralized to all the places we wanted to visit. Would highly recommend a stay if you want to feel like you are at home while on vacation.

Gorgeous home and property surrounded by a farm which was perfect home well stocked and hosts were amazing and friendly we will definitely come back can’t say enough good things about this place and the hospitality of the hosts

Can only repeat what other guests have said about this property and host.Clean and comfortable home. Appreciated the welcome basket. Kitchen fully stocked with anything you may need. Property spacious with outside seating and dining space. The very large kitchen table was perfect for our 3 hour Domino game. Rose, our host, communicated with us from the time of our booking to our arrival

We enjoyed our stay. The cabin was immaculate and well-stocked. It was private and quiet with a great deck off the back. The open floor plan was spacious and the original family items, such as the musical instruments and photos, really made it feel homey. The location was also very convenient. Looking forward to returning.

Our family had the best vacation here! Our 2 young children had so much fun playing in the back yard, swinging on the swing set, climbing trees, building a fire, roasting s’mores and climbing in the tree house. Inside there were toys and games for the kiddos as well. Rose and Herb take impeccable care of the land and have a book to share the sweet history of the property. The property was clean and super welcoming. The kids loved the musical instruments. The kitchen was stocked with many things and we found everything we needed to make most of our meals at home. The house is surrounded by Amish farmland but surprisingly there is a target and Costco 15 minutes away. I highly recommend the Amish market (open Wed-Sat) and bakery though. We didn’t want to leave and will definitely return! Thank you Herb and Rose

Cottage in Bird in Hand, PA

The moment we entered the cottage, we knew we were welcomed and felt right at home. We will be going back to this cottage for future stays in Lancaster.

This cottage is located in a peaceful setting surrounded by farms. The kitchen was fully stocked and the place was very comfortable. The hosts were very responsive and even offered to let us use a wheelchair. The personal touches in the home made the space very welcoming. We hope to return next year!

Great Stay

Rose was a great host them property was clean. It was in an area that was close to everything. But was very private right in the middle of Amish country. It you want a secluded get away this the place to stay. Rose had a goodie basket for us. Rose was very tentative and personal and you can’t go wrong with this place.

My husband, 2 sisters and I only had 3 days to enjoy Carpenter Cottage. Next time we hope to stay longer. We arrived to a clean cottage and a welcome basket of local goodies, which we appreciated. It was a nice personal touch. We had everything we needed right there. The kitchen was stocked with everything we needed. For the bathroom, there was plenty of towels. The bedrooms had very comfortable beds. The house was comfortable and welcoming. There was a deck which we used to enjoy the beautiful weather we had. Our host Rose made our stay very enjoyable and we look forward to returning.

Perfect Amish country escape

We were looking for a quiet home tucked away in the Amish farmland, yet with easy access to all the area has to offer. This home turned out to be everything we had hoped for. It’s set back from the main road overlooking the local farms. The home itself was immaculately clean, comfortably furnished with a spacious feel. Rosie was an exceptionally kind, generous, responsive and helpful hostess. The home offered many extras including a basket of local treats and a well provisioned kitchen. We highly recommend this home and would definitely return.

Do yourself a favor and stay at the cottage! We had a wonderful time in this beautiful, peaceful setting. There was a welcome basket to greet us when we arrived and communication with the owners was excellent. We enjoyed the backyard and deck while watching the bunnies and fireflies. We could hear the buggies passing on the main road and see them from a distance. We visited the farmers market close by and ate at Dienner’s Country Restaurant buffet. Our stay was short but we spent time exploring the area and looking at the scenery. The cottage is cozy but roomy with an open kitchen and living room area. It was bigger than expected and we had plenty of room. Very relaxing! Thanks for having us!!

Rose is generous host. We had a wonderful and relaxing stay. Nothing around us but trees and corn and grass. Very clean inside and comfortable.Plenty of blankets if you tend to run cold. Everything we needed was right there. Great area to explore. Must visit Katie’s Kitchen. And the Village Market. Glenwood Market and The Arc Diner. We also enjoyed Shady Maples smorgasbord.We even purchased a beautiful quilt. Also spent a while at Goods store the sells just about everything. Loved seeing the culture. This tripWas so peaceful.

The cottage was lovely and beyond what was described. The setting was peaceful, yet very close to everything. Rose was very responsive to questions and left a welcome basket. This was the perfect setting for my mother with her physical needs.
