I loved everything about this property!! Location was amazing, the incredible view and gardens, and privacy- all amazing! The property owners are simply delightful and were incredible about giving us good directions and helping us to find this little hidden gem. Peaceful, wildlife, convenient to everything! If I could give it more than five starts I would!!
I have to give this stay a perfect score because it was perfect. The studio was well designed to make good use of the space. The kitchen was well-stocked, the shower was great and the bed was comfortable - all important to me. John and Sandy made us feel so welcome and their gardens are stunning. We had windows overlooking the garden and there is a private deck for good weather that also allowed for time with the flowers. Their place is tucked away down a quiet drive but also close to town. Perfect!
The location is in a very private, quiet, and beautiful location. I was very impressed with the studio and how great the hosts were. I will definitely be staying there again.
This place has been built with love and still emanates it. Beautiful garden, comfortable loft which has everything you need to feel at home and the view of Mnt. Shastina from the balcony made our 5-night stay really enjoyable.
Dragon’s Lair was a magical garden retreat. The little house has lovely furnishings, creating a place to relax, cook and watch the stars. John and Sandy are excellent hosts and have lots of information about things to do in the area. I recommend it to anybody who wants to enjoy the beauty of Mt.Shasta.
The hosts were so welcoming. They made both our stay and how we explored the area great! The place was perfect for our family of three…close to things but out of the way enough to feel the nature vibe from the house. The hosts clearly have set up the same with love and care.
Host was very welcoming, provided all the suggestions for places to visit. Amenities were adequate. The place was cozy and we enjoyed watching birds at the bird feeder in the backyard during bad weather. It was great to experience the 1st snow during our stay. Totally a joyful stay. Thanks!

We are delighted that Alan and Todd enjoyed the extensive mountain bike trails . It appears Mt. Shasta is quickly becoming a biking destination. Welcome back anytime.
Great hosts and a wonderful location! Property is nice. The Dragon's Lair was cofy and cozy with views of Mt Shasta! Will definitely book this place again!
I love this property! The loft is clean & cozy & the deck has a wonderful view of the mountain. We enjoyed coffee in the morning & star gazing at night. We also enjoyed bird watching. The property/garden is lovely & the host is friendly & charming. I highly recommend!
What an awesome place to unwind and relax. You can just stare at the mountain or enjoy the beautiful gardens. Very close to downtown but feels like you are at your own mountain retreat. Everything you could ask for in a place to stay.
Cozy, clean space with beautiful forest views. John and Sandy are lovely people. They provide lots of great info on the area with books and binders. I would definitely stay here again.
The one bedroom cottage was lovely with Mt Shasta view and beautiful flower garden. Owner John and Sandy was very easy going.
The place has everything we need. It is tucked away in a private street in the serene woods, yet walking distance to downtown.
We will definitely recommend it to anyone!
My family of 4 had a great time at this property! There's room for the kids to run around outside, and many thoughtful accommodations inside and out. John and Sandy have created maps and guides to help guests make the most of their time in the area, and John's amazing craftsmanship can be observed throughout the property. We are truly grateful for the opportunity to stay here and we'll be jumping at the chance to stay here again in the future.
Our impeccable hosts were above and beyond kind and friendly, making it one of the most personable experiences we’ve had. The place was beautiful and so thoughtfully cared for. We learned about great local spots and cultural events and wish we could have stayed longer. We will definitely be back!
My friend and I recently stayed 3 nights in this lovely studio. The location is really central to all activities. The setting is fabulous - quiet, private, surrounded by nature. And if you’re a gardener, the owners share their gorgeous garden, all of it created by John. They have made every effort to keep scents out of the place, much appreciated by those of us with allergies and sensitivities. The bed was really comfortable and warm. I would definitely stay there again.
Thank you so much to John and his wife for creating such a comfortable and lovely place to stay! Everything was so clean, well thought out and enjoyable. We cooked a few nice meals in the well stocked kitchen, enjoyed some DVDs during the rain and generally were able to relax! We found wonderful sledding at Bunny Flats for our children! Highly recommend this sweet cottage.
