We had a wonderful stay there with our friends and our dogs. The location is perfect and walkable to a fabulous grocery store, as well as restaurants, bars and retail shops. The house was a nice size for four people, though there is only one bathroom, so you need to plan a little around shower time, which was not a big deal. The beds are comfy and clean. The kitchen is well stocked with supplies and even a few pantry items and spices. The pans are a little rough, but definitely usable and we enjoyed cooking all of our meals there and eating them in the back yard. Overall, the house is very charming, clean and comfortable. A couple of things to note. There is no secure fenced area at the house, and it is on a busy street. If you have dogs, you will need to keep them on leash for their safety. It is an old house, so it comes with those quirks, such as only a couple outlets in the bedroom and doors that don't close perfectly. The wifi is great, but there is not a dedicated workspace, so if you plan to work remote, you'll be doing that from the dining room, which is open to the living room. We'll definitely be back to Shasta and visit this lovely house again! We had a marvelous time and can't wait to rediscover the beautiful hikes, the great vibes and wonderful hospitality we received by both our host and this scenic town.
