About the host
Hosted by Marcus McPius
Hey, I’m Marcus world traveler, San Antonio host, and someone who genuinely obsesses over what makes a vacation feel effortless.
I’ve traveled extensively and stayed in hundreds of properties across the globe, great ones and forgettable ones. That experience taught me exactly what guests actually need: a home that’s immaculate, stocked before you think to ask, and run by a host who’s responsive without being intrusive. That’s the standard I hold myself to.
My background is in finance and logistics. I studied supply chain management in the UK so when I say I sweat the details of your stay, I mean it operationally. Smooth check-in, clear communication, zero surprises.
I host because I love the idea of giving a group of people the best version of their trip. Whether it’s a family reunion, a birthday weekend, or just a long-overdue escape this home was set up to deliver that. I’m proud of it, and I think you’ll feel that the moment you arrive.

Why they chose this property
I chose this neighborhood because it felt like a secret quiet, tree-lined, and genuinely residential, tucked away from the noise while being minutes from everything San Antonio is known for.
It’s the kind of street where neighbors wave, dogs are everywhere, and the pace slows down the moment you turn off the main road. Safe, walkable, and genuinely peaceful it gives your group the rare feeling of actually being somewhere, not just near somewhere.
And yet you’re five miles from the River Walk. Six from the Alamo. Close enough to do everything, far enough to come home and actually decompress. That balance is rare, and it’s exactly why I chose it.

What makes this property unique
Honestly? It’s the combination of things you don’t expect to find together.
The house itself is a classic 90s red brick solid, spacious, and full of character that newer builds just don’t have. Those thick walls, those high ceilings, that architecture. It has a warmth to it that guests feel immediately and always mention in their reviews.
Step outside and you’re under a canopy of massive, aged oak trees that have been here for decades. It’s the kind of shade and stillness that makes you put your phone down. And if you’re lucky and you usually are, you'll spot a family of deer drifting through the yard in the early morning or at dusk. It happens more than you’d think, and it never gets old.
Then there’s everything else: the heated saltwater pool, the hot tub, the fire pit, the game room, the putting green, the hammocks. Guests joke that it feels like a mini resort that also somehow feels like home. That’s the balance I set out to create and the reason people come back.
There’s nowhere else in San Antonio quite like it.
