What a great little get away spot. It was super quiet and super dark at night. Plenty of wildlife for nature enthusiasts. The bathroom was clean and odorless, don't let the port-o-potty scare you. Everything is very well maintained. Communication with the host was perfect. He left us detailed instructions and even marked the property so it was easy to find. Very cozy stay.

Great little cabin in the woods

Beautiful small cabin, great location close to town but still down a very quiet dirt road. Host was very helpful and proactive with directions and recommendations for food also provided everything you need including flashlights and cooking utensils. Even had a wood stove for heat since it got pretty cold while we were there in mid October. Overall great place to stay!

**Beautiful Location, but Serious Safety and Accessibility Concerns**We were really looking forward to a peaceful, rustic weekend away and fully understood that this was an off-grid cabin. Unfortunately, our experience was extremely disappointing. Our biggest concern was the condition of the driveway. Even with our SUV, getting in and out was extremely difficult. There was no practical place to turn around, and the end of the driveway was so problematic that the front end of our vehicle scraped every time we exited the property. This went far beyond what we anticipated from the listing’s description of a steep driveway.Inside the cabin, we encountered additional concerns. The wood-burning stove door would not stay securely closed, which was particularly unsettling considering it was our source of heat. The cabin’s entrance door was also extremely difficult to open, creating another safety concern, especially with the stove positioned directly beside it.Between these issues, we barely slept and ultimately decided not to return for our second night, choosing to pay for accommodations elsewhere. We understand that rustic accommodations aren’t for everyone, but that was exactly the experience we had intentionally booked. Our disappointment wasn’t with the simplicity of the cabin, but with conditions that made us feel unsafe. The location has potential, and I genuinely hope these concerns are addressed so future guests can enjoy the experience we had hoped for.

Thank you for sharing your feedback. Sorry to hear that your stay did not meet your expectations. I do, however, want to provide some clarification for future guests. Guests have been able to access the cabin successfully for several years, including guests driving smaller cars. The difficulty described with the vehicle scraping occurred while attempting to turn around and drive down the driveway facing forward. The customary approach, which I also use myself, is to back down the driveway rather than attempt to turn around at the top. Which I, and several guests have done even with snow on the ground. Regarding the wood-burning stove, this is the first report I have received of the door not staying securely closed. I recently visited the cabin and did not observe this issue but also had a guest stay after you and they were able to close it properly. I guess not everyone is accustomed to wood stoves so I apologize. I also could have had a neighbor come look at the stove door within an hour if that was communicated to me. I take any concern involving the safe operation of the stove seriously and will check it again to ensure everything is functioning properly. As for the entrance door, the cabin’s compact A-frame design and layout limit the door’s full range of motion. However, there is sufficient clearance to enter and exit the cabin with luggage, and this has not previously been an issue for anyone else. Again, sorry that the cabin didn't meet your expectations!
