January and February - Usually excellent skiing for the downhill enthusiasts and cross-country skiers. Sunrise Ski Resort is just a 45-minute drive – opposite direction from the crowds coming in from Pinetop means little traffic to get stuck in. Wonderful cross-country trails within a few minutes’ drive - or right out the door if the snow is good. Don’t forget your hiking boots, fishing poles, swimming suits, canoes, mountain bikes or snowboards!
Not an adventurer? Curl up next to the wood burning stove with a blanket or in a comfy chair on the patio with a good book, but don’t be alarmed by all the quiet!
