Beautiful cabin in a beautiful area. The cabin is well stocked and very clean. Lighting at night is kind of dim but it may be because some bulbs need replacing.
This is our favorite place to stay. It has a very nice layout and is an incredible cabin! It sits several acres tucked back away in the pines!! The host/owners are very nice and accommodating to!

Thank you Keri for your kind review of our place! It was truly our pleasure having you. So glad to hear you enjoyed your stay.
We stayed here in mid August 2025. Everything was clean and orderly with all the necessities for cooking and meals in the kitchen. Beds were comfy, along with clean and comfortable bedding. Had the pleasure of seeing a herd of elk come up quite close. Would definitely recommend this property for a fun family get together.
This cabin was wonderful for our large family holiday. Plenty of space for everyone and the kitchen was plenty big for cooking . The outside tables were great for card playing. The only thing was a total lack of curtains. The view is wonderful but not having curtains on the bathrooms creeped me out a little
The first view of the property is stunning. Then entering the home is welcoming. The cabin was clean and as described. It has a great open living space and an amazing kitchen. Contact with the host was extremely convenient and friendly. Would definitely recommend to others.

The pleasure was ours! Thank you Alethea and we look forward to hosting you and your family again in the future:) So glad you enjoyed your stay.
This home was amazing. Comfortable and large enough to accommodate my entire family. We took family pictures just outside the back door. It felt like a friend/family let us borrow their cabin for the weekend. Thank you!
My family and I enjoyed our stay at Lisa's cabin. Lisa was responsive and easy to communicate with. The cabin was beautiful, clean, and well stocked with everything we needed. On a couple mornings we woke to elk passing by the cabin and one evening we saw a herd grazing by Luna lake. It was really convenient having the lake so close for fishing and Alpine nearby when we needed to go into town. Overall, we really enjoyed our week at the cabin and we would absolutely want to stay there if we are every back in the Alpine area.

I am so glad to hear you enjoyed your stay! Yes, the wildlife seems to be a fan favorite in the area, as well as the lake and beautiful surroundings. We look forward to hosting you again sometime in the future!
Our family had a wonderful time at this cabin (though the term "cabin" doesn't really do it justice - it's huge and spotlessly clean). There were 7 people in our group but there was more than enough room for everyone and unlike some of the other rural locations we've stayed at over the years there was plenty of hot water and no plumbing issues. Lisa, the owner, was awesome to deal with, usually responding to questions within minutes. The property sits on the edge of a pine forest and several meadows where a herd of elk can often be seen grazing. We can't wait to go back.

It was our pleasure hosting your group! So glad to hear you enjoyed your stay. We look forward to your future visits!:)
We enjoyed our stay, it was a beautiful house! I would have given it 5 stars with the exception of a couple things, that you would expect from a house at this price point. There were no window treatments, which if you wanted to sleep in...made it tough, and there was a lack of end tables/ bedside tables/lamps, only overhead lights. The house is beautiful, clean, great kitchen, etc., just a bit minimalistic...but I get the feeling, previous renters abused that. Owner is very communicative and very easy to work with, and Alpine is beautiful! Luna Lake is super close and Nelson Reservoir is only about 15ish minutes away.

I am so glad you enjoyed your stay! It was our pleasure hosting your group:)
We have made a point to keep the views the main focus, which is why we opted not to have window treatments obstruct those views. But I completely understand your concern about sleeping in. We are actually going to be going up next week to install some simple drapes in the bedrooms to help with that...against my husband's desire to keep the windows clear and unobstructed. Each of the rooms do have a nightstand or side table next to the bed, but we've had several lamps destroyed by guests/children so we try to keep those things that can be easily broken to a minimum...kids can't reach the overhead lighting in each room, so that seemed like a good compromise.
But we have taken care that everything is well stocked in the kitchen, bedrooms, bathrooms, etc for our guests comfort and convenience.
We appreciate your feedback. We'd love to have you again in the future!
I did not stay in this house the homeowner was advised to cancel the reservation the parties I invited with me verbally and physically attacked me for my own safety due to being in fear for my life I left the property but before that I did call the 911 dispatch twice they would not send anyone to the house to remove these people the homeowner refused to move these people because she did not want to lose her five star rating and I am still being billed.
The homeowner also was in contact with the guests but they did not pay for the house I paid for the house the house was in my name those people should have been removed immediately. I hope I never have to deal with anything like this again it was utterly disgusting and terrifying at the same time.

I feel badly that Robert invited guests to stay with him for the weekend that caused him to feel the way he did. Apparently he collected money from each person in the group, and then upon arrival demanded they all leave due to a disagreement they had. He called me not long after his arrival telling me there were issues with members in his group...said he was calling the cops. I reached out to VRBO to ask what they recommended in this situation. They reached out to him and suggested that when cops arrived he can return the money to the other guests and they can leave without incident...that I could not have his guests removed. This was out of my control. He returned to the house, made amends, told me he called off the cops and they were enjoying dinner...even sent me a picture via text of the food they were cooking. (I had been in contact with one of the women in the group and she assured me things were fine and the house would be well taken care of.) I then get a discombobulated text just after noon the next day telling me to "cancel the reservation" saying that he feared for his life and had to leave the property. He was very erratic, saying that I need to have his guests removed, that the cops said they could not help because he was not the owner of the home. I do not live near the property so I had to deal with this situation from afar. VRBO advised me NOT to cancel (they had been in contact with him), that if I did it would tell them I was agreeing to give him a refund, which I was not going to agree to. He was told he could have cancelled the reservation on his end, but didn't want to since he knew he would still be responsible for paying for the stay. I realized he was trying to manipulate the situation by telling me that I had to cancel the reservation, even though that was not what VRBO told him.
He kept sending erratic texts that the people still at our home were going to destroy it and it was not going to be his responsibility. I was in contact with them and they assured me the house was going to be fine. Upon checkout, they sent video of the house showing how it was left. And everyone left on time without incident on their checkout date the next day.
Then Robert filed a chargeback with his credit card company, even though he kept the money from his guests (and charged them MORE than the cost of the weekend). If he truly was in danger, the cops would have assisted. I know he was not being honest. Worst houseguest we have had. Do not rent to him.
Beautiful home in the mountains! Plenty of room for our large family to enjoy games and meals and relaxing. Lisa was great and answered any and all questions I had.
Great place to spend time with our children and grandkids.
Spent the weekend turkey hunting and fishing on the Black River. The house is beautiful and very clean with everything you need. The kitchen is well equipped with pots, pans, and other kitchen necessities. The home is very comfortable. Enjoyed our stay.

About the host

We are a family of Arizona natives. Both Jeff and I were born and raised in the valley. We have raised our 5 boys in Queen Creek, AZ and love it there. We built this cabin from the ground up and love spending time here and have created many memories over the years, but want to be able to share the experience and all of the beauty with others.
Why they chose this property
We purchased the 4+ acres years ago with the intention to build someday. We chose it for the beautiful mountain, lake and forest views, it's ease of getting to it off of the highway but still having a secluded feel. We knew Sunrise Resort wasn't far and we love to snowboard and ski. My husband is a hunter and knew he would be hunting near the area. We would camp on the property for years until our dream of building came true in 2007. We wanted something rustic, but still comfortable with all of the modern amenities. We wanted to capture the gorgeous views. We wanted a place where we could go with friends and enjoy the fun of staying at a cabin as well as the beautiful outdoors. I think we accomplished all of that when we built our place.
What makes this property unique
Cabin sits on over 4 acres in the pines. So many things to do and places to see here. Luna Lake is literally across the highway from the cabin where you can rent boats or go fishing or trail riding. You can see the lake from the property. Several good restaurants, gas station and mini grocery store just up the road in downtown Alpine; The famous Lollipop Shop for ice cream, candy, and a great restaurant and bar (Alpine Grill and Still), as well as several other restaurants. Fun, small town feel with local rodeos, parades, and celebrations throughout the year. Sunrise Resort is about 40 minutes away; not too far from great snowboarding and skiing as well as fun snow hills. Nelson Reservoir is about 20 minutes away for more good fishing. Springerville is about 40 minutes away...Western Drug is a fun general store to hit for all kinds of stuff. Great hiking, fishing, trails for horseback riding or four wheeling all around! Just miles from the Luna, New Mexico border. Great hunters' hunting units not far. Round pen with water trough on property for our horse loving guests.
