The Sixpence is a comfortable house in a great location for taking long Sea Ranch walks, including to Shell Beach, which is what we came for. Our group enjoys cooking, and we appreciated that the kitchen had the pots, pans, and tools that we needed. We also took advantage of the hot tub on chilly mornings. We felt fortunate that we had a couple of cloudless nights. Because there are no street lamps or bright outdoor house lights at Sea Ranch, the starry sky is stunning. A minor quibble that I have encountered at almost every rental house: there are not enough places to dry the towels in the bathroom, particularly upstairs. More hooks, please!

Wonderful property, and highly responsive management! This home was absolutely perfect for our group—3 couples spanning 3 generations, from mid-20s to mid-80s. Home is very comfortable (with primary suite on main level, perfect for our older family members), and especially appreciated the well-appointed kitchen, which has all the appliances and tools an advanced home-chef would need (hello immersion blender). Enjoyed the gas fire, ocean views, and creature visits ( especially turkey, quail and deer!) every day, as well as family time with puzzles and games! Very centrally located on the Ranch, with easy access to trails and just a short drive to Gualala. If you’re new to Sea Ranch, be advised it’s a sleepy area… Don’t miss the Gualala Farmers’ Market on Saturday (in-season) and Surf Market for provisions.We have been coming to Sea Ranch multiple times a year for 16 years, and have stayed in dozens of properties—from a couples retreat to 10 person sites. Would recommend this property and would book again!

Great property with lots of space for the family. The kitchen was spacious and fully furnished with anything you would need to cook. House was very clean and all beds very comfortable. Our family would definitely stay here again!

Fantastic home--clearly a family's own second home with a nice ambience because of that--classic board games, kitchen with everything you'd need, etc. Loved the view and the hot tub in a gorgeous deck setting with trees around. Quiet and beautiful. Would love to stay here again.

Sixpence is a beautifully well kept home and more beautiful than the pictures. The kitchen was large with tons of counter space and all the cooking appliances one would need. The home is comfortable with lovely linens and blankets. The beds are a bit firm, perfect for some but for those who need a bit more padding it’s something to know about ahead of time. The hot tub was spotless and the ocean view are gorgeous. The location is amazing, close to the beach and walking trails. We had a wonderful stay and would love to return sometime.

Wonderful Sea Ranch House

This house was wonderful! Perfect for the five of us with lovely ocean views, a modern well-equipped home with great kitchen and bathrooms. We also enjoyed the cozy gas fireplace and the fun selection of puzzles and games. We will definitely stay here again!

Great stay at Sea Ranch

My wife and I love coming to Sea Ranch and having a nice place to stay at is key. The house is very cosy with an awesome kitchen and great views of the Ocean. We got a chance to go for some really neat walks and even saw a fix and some rabbits. We would definitely stay here again!

Very nice property in Sea Ranch. Would stay there again. Lots of space and good basic kitchen supplies. Straight forward pricing unlike some other properties that try to slip in “guest” fees.

This is a lovely, comfortable, clean home but is lacking attention to detail between rentals to make sure everything works; especially something as dangerous as the gas fireplace. This was the second time we stayed at this property. We were a bit disappointed in a few things. There were lightbulbs out in the kitchen and master bedroom and no replacement bulbs found. In the morning it was cool so we tried to turn on the gas fireplace and it did not start. We followed the directions to restart the pilot light and noticed the smell of gas. We shut off the gas and called about the management company who came out quickly. The repairman that came noticed that the gas line was not connected and the parts for the starter were sitting inside the area where the gas connects. (We have pictures of the parts and how the fireplace was left without a gas hookup.) A cleaning staff comes out to clean the rental units just after the check out time, but things like light bulb outages seem to be overlooked, The filter at the bottom of the dishwasher was black with mold and needed to be scrubbed clean then soaked in bleach before we used it. I only checked it because I have the same model of dishwasher at home and knew that the filter needs to be cleaned on a regular basis. (It is a European made model which unlike US models does not have a grinder to dispose of food particles, but rather a filter to catch the pieces so they don’t get washed out of the machine.)

Nice place. Well appointed, spacious, clean, and (as one expects at Sea Ranch) quiet! We were 2 but it could comfortably house 6. Enjoyed our stay and would visit again.

The kitchen in this house was the best stocked of any place we’ve stayed in the past. The drawers and cupboards were labeled, making it easier to find what we needed when cooking. The master bedroom was not only located on the main level but it was also not directly below the other bedrooms and far away from the living room and TV making it very quiet place to sleep. It was the perfect house for our group. We all loved watching the wild life grazing in the yard and the view of the ocean. I can highly recommend this house.
