About this property

Perfect for 2 families! Private rd w/ private beach & dock!

Our house was built as part of a cottage colony on the Town Cove in Eastham which is currently still known as Cedarcrest. Since then, CAPE ESCAPE has been updated to include two separate fully furnished units...perfect for a 2 family vacation or multi-generational family reunion. The main house has a modernized large kitchen with kitchen table for 4 as well as a dining room off of the kitchen which seats 6. The spacious master bedroom has its own master bath with jacuzzi tub/stand-up shower and sliding glass door leading to a large deck. There is also a comfortable cot available in the master bedroom. The spare bedroom has 2 twin beds and full bath right down the hall. A spacious living room as well as den right off of the kitchen provides comfortable areas to relax.

The quaint guest apartment, with its separate entrance, has a fully stocked kitchen, bath and 2 bedrooms. A queen bed is in one bedroom with a sliding glass door leading to a backyard deck, and the other bedroom has 2 twins.

There are 2 backyard decks, one off of each side. Perfect for morning coffee or afternoon relaxing after a day at the beach! The larger deck provides ample space for the entire family to enjoy a meal together. Central air on the larger side and a.c. window unit provided for the guest apartment. Great outdoor shower too! Wifi throughout the house and Smart TV's located in all of the sitting areas.

CAPE ESCAPE is part of a private neighborhood association with the only private beach on the Town Cove. We even have a small boat ramp for easy launching of small boats, kayaks, paddle boards, etc. If your boat is under 12 ft, you are also able to tie onto our dock for the length of your stay.

Cedarcrest vacation

WE had a great time swimming and biking all week. It was a gathering for our older kids scattered around the east coast and together for the week. Gail's place accomaodated this beautifully. She was wonderful, as is the friendly neighborhood.

Good space

Lovely neighborhood, but limited walking access. Dock was great but water is not really clean enough for swimming. Place worked well for a group, but location a bit isolated from activities. Also a negative is all the construction and landscaping activity, made it quite noisy at times.

Peaceful and restful in Eastham

Pros: Walking into the house you immediately have a sense of peace and relaxation. Very clean house. The house is bigger in person than the pictures. Minimal clutter and knicknacks- Just what you need and nothing you don't. Well stocked kitchen. Very quick walk down to a lovely cove with a small sand beach. Would be great for little kids to splash in the water as it is quite shallow, just be sure to bring water shoes as there are shells. I wish we had had time to rent a kayak and kayak from this cove out to the Nauset Marsh. Next time! The master bedroom is very large and airy and would easily have room for a crib. Master bath is spacious. The backyard is really cute and the deck is huge. Perfect to eat out on. They have smart TV's so in the evening we were able to log into our netflix to wind down. Gail was a dream to work with- super responsive and friendly . Cons: I did know before we rented so it was not a surprise, but please be aware that in order to get from the small apartment to the larger house area, you do have to go outside, there is no internal door. And be aware if you have very little kids sharing the twin bed room, it is not right next door to the master bedroom but is down the hall around the corner [though this was positive for us because my son is a teenager and was happy to not be right near us :) ] The main house's master bed mattress has seen better days but it was perfectly fine for the 3 nights we were there - might be a different story if I were renting for 2-3 weeks. The shower in the smaller apartment seemed old but it was clean for sure. In summary, couldn't beat the space, cleanliness, and location. I would definitely rent this again- Thank you Gail!

Its Like Coming Home, No Stress, No Surprises!

The perfect rental. Let me say upfront we have stayed here multiple times. We rent all over the world, sometimes its good, sometimes great and sometimes it's horrifying. Why is this one great; first the owners, nicest people you will ever meet. The kind of people that leave a bottle of wine welcoming you and drop off clams they dug for your dinner (They call first). 2nd on my list LOCATION. If you have ever been to the cape in the summer you know traffic is a nightmare and finding whatever is you need from a blow-up raft (By the way they have these for your use in the garage) to food. This house is 1 mile or less from everything. The best grocery store, the lobster pound, yes even the blow-up raft emporium. You are close to route 6. The beach is 2 min walk down the road you are on. There is a dock you can keep a small boat, you can dig clams right there, its a beautiful spot. On July 4th and many other summer dates when all the beaches are full and you have to wait in line hours to get in you can simply avoid all of that and use the beach 2 min down the road. How great is that! 3rd on my list is the house itself. You know when you get to a new rental its filled with all someone else's stuff, like nicknacks and things you can't use. The walls are a horrible color, the furniture looks worn and stained, THIS HOUSE HAS NONE OF THAT. Its clean, tastefully done, smells good and has only the stuff you need, like the lobster pot, the BBQ, a blender, a full set of glasses and dishes. Every little detail down to the toilet paper is there. If you are reading this and think that's normal, this is likely your first time renting and you should read reviews before booking anywhere (Seriously). The layout of the house is 4th on my list. The layout is perfect. The main house is there with 3 bedrooms and the bathrooms are awesome including a jacuzzi tub. There are two living rooms both with TV's, one we use for adults one for the kids. They both work well with a full complement of channels like you have at home not the paired down version they normally give renters. I had no problem hooking up the PlayStation as well. One living room also can be closed off to make a bedroom if needed. One also has a fireplace. The kitchen is a good size, well stocked and the fridge is immaculate. There is also a table in there to use. The dining room can hold a lot of people and has a great view of the deck with 8 person table and more seating around. Great House!

Family at the cape

Nothing needs changing in this fabulous home. Very comfortable for everyone. The deck was used for morning coffee, meals and happy hour. A short walk to the beach area was enjoyed by all. Kayaking is very easy and enjoyable from the beach. Eastham was a nice location. Gail the host was over the top great.

Property is a lovingly-maintained and thoughtfully-appointed rental. (Lobster pots and utensils!) As we had a family with two young children on this trip, the attached cottage was ideal.

Annual Family Getaway

My sons have been coming to Cape Cod and staying by the National Seashore since they were children. Now that they have their own families it is heart warming to see the tradition continue. We stayed with our grandchildren in this two residence property and the arrangement worked out well. Meals were all taken in the main house and their was a quiet space to put the 15 month old down for naps and bedtime in the smaller space. Be sure to bring your own bed sheets and towels. Everything else is provided.

A fabulous last-minute Cape getaway

We loved Gail’s sweet cottage, a perfect place to stay for a last-minute Labor Day escape to the Cape for our extended family. The main house and side apartment were charming and pristine. Gail was a very nice, responsive and accommodating host. The location was perfect - a lovely street with a short walk to a private beach, and quite central, with proximity to great beaches, ponds, and yummy restaurants. We hope to be back for a longer rest next time.

Family escape

Grandparents and kids and grandkids all had an early summer getaway - house is perfect for the grands to get away from it all. Good location for all the beaches. All the amenities were available which was appreciated when I forgot my toothbrush. Working with Gail was awesome. She generously extended our stay when we had to delay our arrival. Fun Cape Escape

This was our first vacation to the cape and we cant wait to come back! We loved the Eastham location and being further away from the mainland. There are so many beautiful beaches, trails, and nature in the area. Gail was so helpful and communication about our stay was so easy and immediate. Her house is on a quiet, private residential road that felt so serene. At the end of the street (only 2-3 min walk from the house) there is a dock and little beach area that is great for launching a kayak or getting your feet wet. We didn't actually go swimming there but i would have had no problem doing so as it was very clean. It is also beautiful for stargazing at night and i greatly miss it! The house itself was perfect for our family. The kitchen was well stocked with everything we would need (paper towels, sponge, dish soap, dishes, pans, ketchup packets, etc) and the layout was great. My children had their own room, there was the centrally located dining area, and then a little den off to the side that was great for morning cartoons and games. The outdoor deck was amazing for family dinners. We stayed in the main house and my in-laws stayed in the attached apartment. This was such a unique and awesome aspect, as it allowed them to have some separation and personal down time, while being able to just walk over to our side for family time. As noted in some of the reviews, there is no indoor connection between the two areas, so you have to walk across the deck to get into the main house by the screen door (or from the front door), but this was really not a problem or inconvenience at all - in fact i kind of liked it. Overall, we loved our stay here and definitely recommend it for a good cape escape :)

Small Family Trip

Gail was very nice to work with and communicated in a timely fashion. The water was nice and enjoyed using our kayaks, and we were only a few mins. from the nice beaches. However, we had some feedback regarding the home: The house was adorable on the outside, but recommend some updates on the interior for guests. The house was located on private road (which is good) but off a very busy road - it was difficult to exit the private road; traffic was very busy. The apartment attached to the house was damp - requires some updating, but a nice feature.

Dream Cape House and Location!

The Cape Escape exceeded my expectations in every way~ it was spacious, clean, inviting, beautifully decorated and had every amenity you would ever need! The kitchens were stocked with cute coffee mugs, dishes, paper plates and towels, not to mention small appliances and cookware. The yards (both front and back) were beautiful - from the hydrangeas to the spacious wrap-around decks. I took my 4 children who are mostly adults now for their first visit to Cape Cod - a trip I've always wanted to take them on as they grew up in California and I had grown up in Connecticut and spent many summers on the Cape. I thought maybe I had overhyped it, but they were not disappointed, ,especially staying in this beautiful home. The kids said one of their favorite highlights of the trip was when we grilled out and hung out eating and talking on the decks. The private dock access was another outstanding feature that made our trip so special - morning coffee and midnight star gazing on the docks were spectacular! The host was so kind and helpful and made every aspect of our stay entirely memorable.

We needed a place to stay for the weekend for a wedding my family and I were attending and we couldn’t be happier with this location. It was big enough for us to have our own space and get together when we wanted. We enjoyed and loved our time here and would definitely book in the future. Gail, the owner, was absolutely amazing as well! 😊
