About this property

Finley Point Lakefront Cottage with Dock, Boat Lift, and Treehouse Balcony

Aloha and welcome to our slice of heaven on Flathead Lake.

This cottage has been the gathering place for generations of our family, and we built it (and protect it) for moments that matter. Sunsets that turn the Mission Mountains pink. Mornings when the lake is so still it looks like glass. Kids learning to swim off the dock while grandparents watch from the deck with coffee. The pictures don't do it justice, and our guests will be the first to tell you so.

THE DECK
The heart of this cottage is our large lake-facing deck, set high in the trees with sweeping views of Flathead Lake and the Mission Mountains. Guests describe it as treehouse living. Sliding glass doors open onto the deck from the kitchen, the living room, and the master bedroom, so the whole cottage flows out toward the lake. There is a locked safety gate, a grill ready for dinner, and room for everyone to gather for morning coffee, sunsets over the Missions, or stargazing once the night arrives. Full lake access all day long, no stairs required.

THE DOCK
Our private dock sits on Skidoo Bay, one of the calmest, dreamiest stretches of Flathead Lake. Deep water at the corner for jumping in and real swimming, with natural shallow rock shelves on either side where little ones can wade safely. Toddlers and teenagers play side by side. The boat lift is yours, stand-up paddle boards, canoe, are ready and waiting, and most guests tell us they spent more time down there than anywhere else. The wooden stairway down the bluff keeps the dock private and uncrowded, which is part of the magic.

ROOM FOR EVERYONE, SLEEPS 10
A king suite on the main floor with private sliding glass doors that open right onto the deck. A queen-over-queen bunk bed in the upstairs loft that the kids will absolutely claim as their treehouse. A queen day bed and sleeper queen sofa in the living area for whoever wants to fall asleep listening to the lake. The walk-in closet upstairs fits a pack-n-play perfectly. Two full bathrooms with everything you need.

INSIDE THE COTTAGE
A fully stocked kitchen that makes cooking feel like part of the vacation, with sliding doors right out to the deck for indoor-outdoor meals. AC and heat throughout. A cozy fireplace for cool mountain evenings. Fast Starlink WiFi (great for remote work), a Smart TV, washer and dryer, and a basket of toys, books, and games waiting for the kids. We have stocked this place with the things our own family wanted when we have stayed here. If it makes the stay better, it is probably already here.

A FEW HONEST NOTES
We share this land with black bears, deer, and other Rocky Mountain wildlife, and a bear-resistant trash bin keeps everyone safe. The dock is reached by a wooden stairway down the bluff (about 100 steps), and the deck offers the same lake and mountain views without the stairs. We are on well water, which is naturally hard and tasty. There is a single exterior camera at the front door for check-in verification only, and smoke and carbon monoxide detectors throughout. Aloha spirit required: be kind, respect quiet hours from 10 PM to 7 AM, and treat this place like family.

All-inclusive pricing. No hidden fees. Just Montana.

Mahalo for choosing us. We cannot wait to welcome you to Finley Point.

A hui hou,
The Johnston and Ellsworth Ohana

We had a great family vacation at this property. Communication with the host was great and we had an awesome experience. The pictures of the place do not give it very good justice.

Amazing view

It might take a little time to get back to the house, but the view and dock is well worth it! We spent so much time swimming and enjoying the dock area that we were all pretty sad to leave. House was clean and inviting, and we especially loved the view from the master bedroom looking out over the lake and mountains.

Great spot, great house! Kitchen is well-stocked, very clean. Deck and dock are both fantastic (lots of morning sun!) It was everything we look for in a place on the lake.Definitely be prepared for stairs down to the water - we just took a cooler and a box of sunscreen, etc. down with us every morning and brought it back in the evening. Hosts communicated well. One of the beds shown in pictures is in the main living area and the queen bunk beds are in the loft. We would definitely stay here again!

Breath Taking!

The lake house was amazing! My wife, two children (ages 2 and 5) and I spent four days on our cross country road trip from Indiana. This was our first time coming to Montana. The views from the lake house were simply breathtaking. The lake house was very comfortable and clean. Plenty of space for us four. The house is located directly on the lake, which was a plus and offer spectacular views from every room! If we ever make it back to Flathead We will definitely be staying at the lake house!

Relaxing lakefront home with amazing dock

We enjoyed the dock every night, water was a little chilly but just sitting in the very comfy outdoor furniture was all we needed. The house was perfect with a very comfy king size bed and great views of the lake. Outside upper deck was perfect for late night. This house also has a large bathtub overlooking the lake which was very relaxing. Kitchen has everything needed for a great stay. We did not use the extra upstairs loft but it is very nicely decorated and a great place for kids or another couple. We will definitely stay here again when returning to Flathead lake.

About the host

We are a true Montana family with deep Hawaiian roots, raised on rivers and inspired by aloha. When we are not up at Flathead Lake, you will find us on the water in Missoula, where we run our two whitewater rafting companies, Montana River Guides and 10,000 Waves.

This cottage has been in our family for years, and every detail you see has been chosen with love. We host because we want others to feel what we feel when we are here. That moment when you step onto the dock for the first time and the lake just opens up in front of you. That is the moment we are working for.

If you want the most epic Montana trip of your life, stay with us on Flathead and then come ride the river with us on your way home. The lake and the river side by side. Big Sky country and island spirit. Just ask, and we will take care of the rest.

We respond fast, we care deeply, and every single guest review so far has mentioned our communication and hosting. We would love to be your hosts on Flathead.

Mahalo,
The Johnston and Ellsworth Ohana

Why they chose this property

There is nothing more magical than Finley Point on Flathead Lake.

We are at the very end of a dead-end road, which gives this place a feeling of being tucked away from the world. Walking trails through the woods. Unobstructed views of the Mission Mountains. Wildlife wandering through at sunrise. The east shore is the quieter shore, and Finley Point is the most special part of it.

When you do want to leave the cottage, Finley Point State Park is 10 minutes away. Downtown Polson is about 30 minutes away for groceries, dining, shopping, and the famous Flathead Cherry Festival in late July. Glacier National Park (west entrance) is about 2 hours away, and Missoula is about 2 hours as well, both gorgeous drives.

Local favorites are minutes away. Finley Point Grill, East Shore Smoke House, The Durham, and Richwine's Burgerville are all worth a visit. We are happy to share more of our favorite spots once you book.

Whether you are here for a week on the water, day trips up to Glacier, or a multi-week summer escape, you are exactly where you need to be.

What makes this property unique

Finley Point is Montana perfection, and our spot on Skidoo Bay is the heart of it.

Skidoo Bay is known for being one of the calmest sections of all Flathead Lake. Whether you are water skiing, fishing, tubing, paddleboarding, or just cruising and watching the sun set, the water cooperates here in a way it does not everywhere else. And when you want big open water, all of Flathead is right there waiting in the other direction.

What makes this stay different:

A large lake-facing deck set high in the trees with sliding glass door access from the kitchen, living room, AND the master bedroom. Indoor-outdoor living with sweeping lake and Mission Mountain views.

A king suite that opens right onto the deck through private sliding glass doors. Step out for coffee without leaving your room.

A private dock with deep water at the corner for jumping and real swimming, plus natural shallow rock shelves on either side where toddlers can wade safely. Toddlers and teenagers play side by side here.

An operational boat lift, canoe, and stand-up paddle boards waiting for you.

Sleeps 10 comfortably across a king suite, a queen-over-queen bunk loft, a queen day bed, and a sleeper sofa. Multi-gen tested and approved.

A pack-n-play fits perfectly in the upstairs walk-in closet (a small detail that parents notice).

Fast Starlink WiFi (Residential 200 Mbps) for remote work, streaming, and multiple devices.

A cozy fireplace and warm interior for fall and spring stays.

Your hosts run two whitewater rafting companies out of Missoula. Add a guided river adventure to your Montana trip and you will leave with stories for the rest of your life.

This is not just a rental. It is the cottage our family built memories in, and we share it because we want you to do the same. Mahalo for considering us.
