Liked: Cleanliness, location
The charming artist’s cottage was filled with an outdoor lover’s nostalgic collection of antiques, handmade art, and wildlife motifs that gave this beautiful sanctuary so much character and charm. The grandkids loved the upper bunk bed and the sun porch sauna. We’d highly recommend this wildlife loving carver’s oasis.
Really neat cabin like feel in Montevideo. The place had amazing woodworking art inside an out. As a love for carpentry myself I could really appreciate what they have all done to this place. The place was very clean as well for this cabin style feel. I was very impressed and the owners were very helpful!
This was a great place to stay for a couple of pheasant hunters and their dogs to stay! Doug was a great host and was readily available for any questions should they arise! We would definitely consider staying at the rental again in the future!
What a great find! Host was very helpful and our stay was perfect. Well stocked and a great location. So many fun personal touches to the decor - host is a very talented artist! This was an, unexpected, welcome suprise. We would definitely love to stay again if it works out for our travels.
Doug and Marie were super welcoming and accommodating. Their property was very clean and also very unique. I would very much recommend this place and we will be back!
The space had very cozy cabin vibes. We loved all of the woodwork, artwork and books in the cabin. It was right by a main road and easy to get to Montevideo and the rest of the Meander Art Crawl that we were attending. The cabin was clean and well-stocked with towels, toilet paper, blankets, etc.
This place is like staying in a small museum of antiquities. The owners have done some amazing things with it. I am bummed that I did not get time to explore the rest of the property.
An incredibly stay! I can’t even describe how neat this studio was! The property was gorgeous and the studio was the perfect size! We could not have found a better place to stay! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
We had a wonderful stay after some very hot (99) days at the Heritage Hill tractor show. It was nice to return to this quiet and cool little retreat after being in the heat all day to watch a movie and just relax. So much neat decor to admire.
My partner and I stayed two nights for Fiesta Days. This was a cozy, clean spot in a good location. It was brighter inside than the photos show, which was nice. Plus, there are two goats on the property, which was an unexpected nice surprise!
Scenery and wildlife abound. La Qui Parle and it 20,000+ public acres are a 10-15 minute drive away. The studio sits on the bluff, at the convergence of the Chippewa and Minnesota Rivers.
What makes this property unique
This is the former studio of Doug Pederson. A lot of Dougs Artwork can be seen here and is sort of a museum for his work. Doug is best known for his work in Scrimshaw. He also worked in wood and bone. Half of the building is still in use as a wood shop and makers space.
