Family Getaway at Maison du Soleil
We have been renting weekly properties in PS for the past ten years, minus 2020. This vacation evolved relatively last minute compared with our past stays. I'm a Boomer and I did the hole thing on-line by my self. Because of past experiences we new to look in the Las Palmas and Old Las Palmas neighborhoods. We prefer the proximity to Palm canyon Dr. and downtown.
This property was my families favorite! We have been looking for a place such as Maison du Soleil to rent for a month at a time .Usually the end of February to the end of March and we would love to return to Maison du Soleil.
Before this could happen those responsible for maintenance and upkeep need to focus on a few things. Such as the crappy garden outside the master bathroom (get the pun?). Its embarrassing! The breezeway between the master bedroom and laundry room is cluttered with stuff that doesn't need to be there as well. The fountain in the front yard is full of pond scum and should be running from sun up to 10 at night. That would eliminate the problem. The pool that is suppose to be set to 85degrees is more like 75 degrees. The pool fountain came on at 6pm every night for 20 min. The other backyard fountain had it 's own schedule. The palapa bar is cute, but not very functional.
What we really loved about Maison du Soleil was the covered veranda. It was were we spent the majority of our time. However the ceiling fans were not all working, or maybe we just couldn't figure it out. We loved the fact that there were four bedrooms with their own bath.
The only TV that we were able to use was in the master bedroom. Not real convenient for family and guest viewing. While we are on the master bedroom, the bed is the worst bed I have slept in, in quite some time. I not joking! Get a new master bed!
Finally there is no Guest Familiarization note book. What info that was made available had nothing to do with the operation of the house. Every other house we have rented had a guest info binder. It's not hard to create and helps alleviate guest anxiety when dealing with the intricacies of an unfamiliar luxury home.
Last but not least, we were fortunate to have visited the desert during a milder than normal climate and rarely used the A/C. When we did turn it on it operated noisy and ran like an out dated system. Could use an upgrade.
MdS is a diamond in the rough and with little effort it can shine much brighter.
