About this property

Panoramic Ocean Views + Private Balcony | Secluded Coastal Setting | Cove Keep

Cove Keep sits on a quiet, wooded stretch of the northern Oregon coast in Arch Cape, three stories of glass and timber angled at the Pacific. It's built for people who came here to disconnect — the kind of house where the ocean is the only thing competing for attention, and it wins.

You wake up to the water. Step outside for the cold, clean coastal air, or walk down toward Cove Beach when the tide's right. When you'd rather not move, there's a book and the Pacific doing what it does.

Inside, large west-facing picture windows frame the ocean across the open living and dining area, where high ceilings keep everything bright and airy even when the weather turns — which, on this coast, is part of the appeal. An antique-style stove anchors the room on cooler evenings, and the large sofa is where the group tends to settle.

The kitchen is fully equipped, with quartz countertops, stainless appliances, a dining table that seats eight, and barstool seating for the casual version of dinner. Three bedrooms give everyone room to spread out, and every bed in the house carries a memory foam mattress, a choice of pillows, and hotel-grade linens.

The primary suite takes the king bed, its own balcony, and an uninterrupted ocean view. The second bedroom holds a queen. The third has two twin-over-full bunks, which makes it the kids' room by unanimous decision, and a queen sleeper sofa in the second living room adds flexibility for a larger group. In-home laundry handles the rest.

Cove Keep sits just north of Oswald West State Park, where a forest trail drops through old-growth spruce to Short Sand Beach — one of the best short hikes on the coast and a serious surf spot when the swell cooperates. Hug Point is a few minutes north for sea caves, a waterfall onto the sand, and tide pools worth timing your day around, and the Neahkahnie Mountain trailhead is close enough for a morning that ends with the whole coastline laid out below you. Cannon Beach and Haystack Rock sit about fifteen minutes north for groceries, shops, and dinner; Manzanita is a similar run south over the mountain. The privacy here is real, but nothing is genuinely far.

AvantStay provides a personalized hospitality experience to elevate your stay. With our Concierge Service, guests have access to our tech-enabled services like fridge stocking, private chefs, massages, transportation, special occasion celebrations, baby gear rentals, ski gear, beach gear, and more. Ancient forests meet the sea along the Oregon Coast. It’s a nature lover’s paradise, with hiking, kayaking, and mountain biking during the day and foggy nights spent bundled up in a blanket under the stars. Outdoor activities abound, with everything from relaxing on the beach to fishing for sturgeon and salmon. Explore towns that line the coast—you won’t want to miss the craft beer that the area is famous for. Cheers!

Second time here

This is our second time staying in this house, the first was 5 years ago. It was just as great as we remembered. It is under new management now, but things ran smoothly still. We absolutely love this location and the house was great for our family of 6.

This location worked out great for our family of 5. You can see and hear the ocean from the living room windows. Not sure if it is typical or if we got lucky but they had extra toilet paper, paper towels, trash bags and laundry soap in the house. We will definitely be coming back. There are a lot of stairs in the house and to get to the beach, not a problem for us but wanted to mention it.

Beautiful, secluded home with beach access

This is a great home with views of the ocean and short walk to a beach that is mostly only accessible to the neighborhood. Large lot and trees provide privacy from neighbors.Power did go out in storm...though most of the coast was also out. Lots of lanterns for light, but the wood stove is the only means of cooking when power is out.Nicely equipped other than that. Kitchen well stocked. Great place for a family getaway!

It's great to hear the kitchen was well-stocked and that the lanterns and wood stove provided some support during the storm. We hope to welcome you back for another family getaway soon! 🌊🏡

I booked this property to celebrate my birthday with some friends and had an absolutely amazing time! The layout of the house is perfect for spending quality time playing board games while enjoying the breathtaking view of the ocean. All of the beds were extremely comfortable and I greatly appreciated the abundance of extra blankets! There’s no service (which was a nice plus) but the WiFi is super quick, even with 8 phones, a tablet, Xbox, ect. all on it at once. The only minor downside to the property is that the tv is in a small room on the bottom floor. I enjoyed having it in a separate room from the main hangout areas, but it was hard to fit everyone in the little room to play drunk Mario kart, haha. We had to bring some chairs down from the dining table and it wasn’t the most comfortable situation, but honestly this is hardly a complaint! This isn’t a house you would book if you wanted to watch tv/play games all day, so take my comment with a grain of salt. Regardless, everyone had an amazing time and we even started talking about having this be the spot we meet for all of our birthdays going forward! I cannot recommend this hose enough! :)

Thank you so much for taking the time to share such a fun and detailed review — and happy belated birthday! We're absolutely thrilled to hear the home set the stage for such a memorable celebration, with board games, ocean views, and even some drunk Mario Kart in the mix. It's wonderful to know the comfortable beds, extra blankets, and surprisingly fast WiFi all helped elevate the experience for your group. We appreciate your honest note about the TV room layout — it's a helpful context for future guests, and we love how you made it work anyway. The idea of this becoming your annual birthday spot truly made our day, and we'd love to welcome you and your friends back again and again!

Close to the beach- A few hundred feet down the road to the staircase down. Bunk beds are big and our mattress was very comfortable. House is older and shows signs of aging (dry rotted out entry door frame and rodent holes on upstair deck storage). Our microwave was dead on arrival and we couldn't get the upstairs shower to work but we figured it out eventually. It is quiet and the beach is sparsely visited this far south. No cellphone service for Verizon or tmobile network but wifi works great. Could have used a beach umbrella /blanket and one more camp chair. Lots of board games puzzles and books. Kitchen is well stocked.

Thank you for the honest and detailed feedback. We are glad the quiet stretch of beach was so easy to reach, and that the well-stocked kitchen, along with the books and games, gave everyone something to settle into. Comfortable beds after a day outdoors always help too. We appreciate you flagging the issues you ran into during your stay. All of it has been passed along to our team so it can be looked at properly. The note about connectivity is a useful one for future guests as well. We hope to have the opportunity to host you again.

We had a wonderful time overall and the property is beautiful. The hosts did a great job communicating. However, there were a few hiccups. The photos showed a table on the upper deck for outdoor dining and that was not present. I was looking forward to the porch swing which was also missing replaced by patio chairs. The kitchen was well equipped but the microwave was hit or miss on heating. My husband loves tea but the tea kettle was rusted. It took over 4 minutes for water to get warm in the microwave. When we arrived there were cobwebs present in the lower bathroom and bedroom. The couch downstairs had dirty tissues as well. Also, I think we had a shared garbage can outside with the neighbor and they left messes frequently on the ground. Outside of that, the house fit our family well. The beaches in Arch Cape are absolutely unmatched and enjoyed the short drive into town for necessary supplies.

So glad the overall stay was wonderful and that the team's communication came through! Sounds like Arch Cape really delivered with those unmatched beaches and easy trips into town. Really appreciate the thorough, honest feedback though — the missing outdoor table and porch swing, the microwave, the rusted tea kettle, the cobwebs and tissues, and the shared trash situation are all things we want to know about, and we'll be sure to get them passed along so we can address them. Hope to welcome you back for a smoother stay next time!
