We are a family of 4 from the San Francisco Bay Area. We love to travel and explore new places. When looking to unwind and unplug, we head to the mountains.

Why they chose this property

It's remote enough to unplug but one of the best and closest ski communities to the Bay Area. Sugar Bowl ski resort is just 10 minutes away and we can grab a great meal and cruise downtown Truckee easily as it's just 22 miles away. There's a small and essentials packed mini-mart just 5 minutes away. All year long, we love walking the flat, 2 mile lake circumference in the neighborhood with our dogs- saying hi to the friendly neighbors. In the winter time skiing is close by including fabulous cross country resort (Royal Gorge) & many snow shoeing trails. Summer time is beautiful with tons of hiking and mountain biking trails in Serene Lakes. The HOA beach and lake swimming area is charming- a real throwback and family friendly vibe. We enjoy paddle boarding, kayaking and fishing on this natural lake as well.
