LAURA’S LODGE – BEAUTIFUL RIVER, KAYAKS, TUBES, HOT TUB - WELCOME!
Come use our kayaks, tubes and other river toys. Grill a juicy steak on the grilling porch and sit in the hot tub. Visit a nearby winery, shop in our charming downtown square. Go see the olive growers, the glass blowers or go zip lining.
Laura's Lodge is five miles to Market Days, which is held the first Saturday of every month. Three and a half miles to the downtown square. We have 300' of private waterfront on the Blanco River, and 75 feet is for Laura's guests exclusively. It has a new patio for Laura's guests only and next to a new ramp we created so the Ramsay's and their guests can easily get the toys in and out of the river with the kayaks.
This home has been elevated above the new flood plain for Wimberley. Hardwood floors, fully equipped kitchen, soft water and filtering system for drinking. Nice linens. Full-size washer and dryer. TVs. Wifi. Come relax. It doesn't get much better than this!
This house sleeps eight comfortably in four queen size beds in four separate bedrooms. There is a limit of six vehicles unless you ask the hosts. There is a strict 12-person minimum spending the night and that means you'll be responsible for bringing your own blowups and linens for the blowups. We provide all linens for our four queen size beds. We provide 12 towels and washcloths and guests have a full size washer and dryer.
Let's discuss dogs: We do allow dogs but no aggressive breeds. $50 per pet. Limit 2. Pet owners are responsible for their animals at all times. Pets must also be on a leash at all times when outdoors. Heavy shedders, please sweep and vacuum after your pets. If the dog that is brought is misrepresented as not being one of these prohibited dogs, the security deposit may be forfeited. They must be kept off the furniture and the beds. Please use dog gate that is provided to keep them out of the loft area.
We have a charcoal grill available for guests' use; however, the guest is to provide their own charcoal and lighter.
THIS HOME IS NOT WHEELCHAIR ACCESSIBLE. NO DIVING IN THE RIVER, PLEASE!
Note: Please be careful with our river key. Our Homeowners Association charges us for key replacement, and it's a huge hassle. No more than 10 people are allowed in our neighborhood parks. The key for our coveted river parks is in the back of the book on the property, and the housekeeper checks for this when you leave. Thanks so much.
Thank you for your consideration. It's a privilege to host you.
Sincerely, Cynthia and Charles Ramsay

The house was very clean and had available all the amenities needed for a comfortable stay. Property owners were very kind and ready to assist us with anything that we may have needed.
It was perfect for the kids, with ping pong and pool table, and the private access to the river we had a blast. The veiw from cabin is absolutely beautiful. And its so close to so many different fun family oriented things to do.
Lovely property on the water with both shallow and deep river access. Lots of kitchen amenities. Great deck and ping pong table in the garage was a bonus in the rain. Thank you!
It was a wonderful weekend and the stay at Laura's Lodge was the cherry on top! This property is fantastic, access to the deep water right in the front yard, the rocks park down the way is shallow and fun for the littles and adults and a variety of floats and safety vests were available. We have stayed in some vacation homes that didn't provide even toilet paper, soap, etc. But at Laura's Lodge, all the necessities were provided, shampoo, dish soap, spices, etc. We had a wonderful weekend and I can't think of a single thing that could have been better, thank you, Cynthia!
A wonderful spot to celebrate a 60th birthday. Tons of river toys, ping-pong table, pool table. We never left the property and spent two days floating. I would recommend bringing plenty of ice as the freezer struggles to keep up. We'll come back in the fall for a Wimberley getaway!

Thanksgiving 2016
Great location, decorated beautifully, clean, well stocked, and the view is amazing, these are a few of the things that we love about this property. The owner's were quick to introduce themselves, and offer their services. Fantastic weekend with family and friends.....Happy Thanksgiving.
We truly enjoyed our stay. My cousin and I took our boys ages 10-21 for a quick 3 day trip. This property could not have been any better. The location was perfect and was right on the water. The owners were amazingly helpful and responded quickly to my numerous messages that I sent before our stay. We would happily stay at this property again. The deck was beautiful and we enjoyed early mornings and evenings on the deck. We were able to see deer on the front lawn on several occasions. Don't hesitate and book your stay!
Owners made everything right. They even bought/supplied a pack and play for my toddler after a last minute inquiry. Clean. Garage/basement is fun. Beds could be firmer. Overall happy and would return.
From the cookies Charles brought upon arrival to our reluctant departure it was pure bliss. The house is sparkling clean with every amenity imaginable. Pool, ping pong, tons of river toys, grill, BBQ, hot tub, beautiful view and the most fantastic river out the door. And the river here has deep pools for actual swimming and jumping off of the rope swing. Some places just have very shallow water but not here. Deep, clear and inviting with tables and chairs at the river to hang out during the day and with a cocktail at night.
We can not recommend it highly enough.
Thank you, Cynthia and Charles.
The house was the perfect spot for our families to enjoy the river and see the total solar eclipse. The deck and the downstairs patio overlooking the Blanco was everyone’s favorite. The house is very well-appointed with everything you need to cook. There is so much to do at the house between the pool table, ping pong, and games and books too. Our kids (ages 5-11) loved the kayaks and were able to kayak down the river both ways, and spent most days exploring. You can tell the Ramsays truly care about their guests, including stopping by with firewood as we were starting the firepit. They live down the street and treated us like a neighbor. The neighborhood park is the icing on the cake of staying here.
We did have to bring a couple air mattresses for our kids, as the “kids room” only has a queen.
We really enjoyed our long weekend and all agreed we need to plan another stay here!
The home was very nice however one of the couples said the sheets were dirty (blood) so we had to wash them, listing was inaccurate claiming there was a pool we could use (the listing was changed when we brought it up and they acted like it had never been advertised that way until I sent a copy of the listing showing a pool was part of the deal -- evidently HOA doesn't allow guests of owners anymore?), property was not ready when we arrived as they were still cleaning (which might explain the dirty sheets?), and when we saw a huge basket of K cups on the counter we asked where the Kuerig was and was told that "the prior guest must have left them" (?) and we were instructed to instead use the conventional coffeemaker, but the next day we were told we could go ahead and use the Kuerig since we had probably found it anyway (?) Just overall strange so I would not recommend.
What a beautiful place. Perfect location. ALL the extras you could want, kayaks, tubes, life jackets, etc. pool table and ping pong were awesome after a day at the river. RIGHT IN FRONT of the house. Clean and prompt communication with property manager. Even got us a high chair for our babies. Thank you! We’ll be back for sure
Had a great getaway weekend with our 2 sons and their families.
House was just as pictured…. Very clean… beautifully decorated. The view from the grand room with its high windows was amazing.
We used the kayaks, tubes, even fished using poles provided!
We had a little trouble retrieving key to check in and again had trouble with the lockbox when trying to leave, but was resolved easily by contacting the hosts. My only recommendation would be to provide more coffee cups!!
It is a beautiful property and I would recommend it highly to anyone wanting a peaceful, relaxing place to enjoy family or friends.
What a great spot! The house is great. Plenty of room. Very clean. Had great amenities and they supplied lots of products! Great river toys! Also ping pong table and pool table to enjoy! HOA park is great to find a spot in the river with picnic tables. Our family had a great time celebrating the end of summer. We hated to leave!!
Also Mr. Charles hand delivered a plate of cookies upon our arrival! They were delicious! They didn’t last long!! Great hostess!!
This home is comfortable and so relaxing. If you did nothing but stay on the property you would still enjoy your time here. House is amazing and property owners are available if needed. Definitely recommend!!
We loved our stay. It was even better than what was shown in the listing. Private river access, fun amenities for our use, the house was beautiful and clean.
Our family had a wonderful time staying at this beautiful property. Great views, excellent hosts and the Blanco River was amazing as we fished and kayaked its crystal clear waters. Would definitely recommend to anyone wanting to visit the Wimberley area!
First of all Wimberly is a relaxing slow paced community with a ton of outdoor and indoor things to do. A variety of restaurants and wineries to visit. From the various rivers and creeks to many swimming holes and hiking, there is always something to do.
Our stay at Laura's Lodge was as advertised, just steps from the Blanco river, tubes and canoes with paddles. The house is beautiful, comfy beds, everything was clean , pool table, ping pong, tvs in every room, ceiling fans everywhere. Spacious deck with stunning views. The owner stopped by to deliver fresh baked cookies and he saw we had motorcycles' and recommended a couple places for great rides. My wife and I stayed here with 2 other couples and had a relaxing enjoyable 4 day vaca.......
What a wonderful weekend for both the adults and the kids. This property is even more beautiful than the pictures and included kayaks, tubes, pool table and hot tub. The HOA park down the road was an unexpected plus with a shallow place in the river where the kids could play and the adults could sit in the refreshing water and enjoy the day.
We had an amazing weekend! Access to the river with kayaks and rafts were a huge plus! The gas grill downstairs with table and chairs was the best for evening meals. Would definitely rent again!

About the host
Hosted by Cynthia Ramsay
My husband, Charles, and I have lived in Wimberley for 23 years. His family had one of the original camp houses on River Road when he was growing up in the '40s and '50s, and that inspired us to build our home down here on Edgewater Drive. Hosting is our passion these days, and we love hosting happy guests looking for a fun getaway.
Before hosting, I was a court reporter for twenty-five years, and Charles is a senior retired district judge. Whenever I start to complain about anything, I just remember the deadlines and hardworking days of court reporting. Then I think about the happy smiles on my guests' faces when they arrive down here in the Wimberley Valley at the Blanco River.
We appreciate your booking. We know you have many choices these days. Our top priority is your happiness once you've chosen to book with us for your vacation getaway.
Thank you for your consideration! Warmest regards, Cynthia Ramsay
Why they chose this property
First and foremost, the beautiful Blanco River as well as two outstanding parks that are within a few paces of the property.
What makes this property unique
This is a one-of-a-kind property designed by me to be elevated above the newly proposed floodplain for safety, yet to be beautiful. There are FEMA approved flood vents in the lower level where we have a pool table, ping pong table and a grilling porch. The beautiful hand-made, carved posts came from Taos, New Mexico, and were made just for Laura's Lodge. You won't find another property like this one!
