Great stay!

It’s an amazing property, incredible views, very quiet and private and still close enough to everything! The house was perfect for the three of us and a great place to have a few friends over for dinner. The stay couldn’t have been better!

Just perfect for a mother daughter getaway

Couldn’t have asked for a nicer spot to celebrate Mother’s Day and mother’s bday. Between amenities, View and hot tub we were absolutely in heaven. Total seclusion made it feel like lifestyles of the R&F but close enough into town for evenings out. Simply perfect.

A perfect getaway

We stayed at Rancho Villa to celebrate my daughter’s grad from UCSB. The views were breathtaking, the house had such old world charm and all the perfect amenities. Paradise staff was very responsive.

Beautiful Location

If you want to take in a scenic vista of Santa Barbara and have a small slice of paradise, this house is the place. Tranquil and very private surrounding but just minutes from downtown. We loved the rooftop hot tub. We would go up and soak while watching the sunset each evening. Would definitely stay here again.

Family Visit for Thanksgiving

The views of the surrounding mountains and ocean are exceptional. Reading the description it seemed as though the property was located in an isolated area but it was actually a very convenient drive into Santa Barbara downtown area. The adults and kids both enjoyed the activities Santa Barbara had to offer and then the relaxing get away to this ranch with its hot tub and outside patio. We would definitely return to this getaway.

Wow, Rancho Vista is an amazing property and working with the property managers at Paradise Retreats was simple and seamless. The views are unmatched and the entire property is made for relaxing; there wasn't a thing out of place or without explanation. Flawless stay, highly recommended!

Fantastic views

We had an excellent stay! The property is clean and well equipped. The patio and outdoor cooking area are lovely and have fantastic views! We ate outside every day during our stay and also enjoyed spotting a range of local birds. Sunset from the rooftop spa is a must. Everyone we interacted with on-site and through Paradise Retreats was helpful and friendly, especially after a local power outage in the area through us for a loop one day. Overall, a truly great experience!

An amazing vista!

This is a beautiful property. From the expansive terrace, the views of the valley and the ocean are stunning. The south facing view is perfect for sunrise and sunset. The home and grounds are extremely well-kept and the kitchen is well stocked with cooking utensils. The roof top hot tub was perfect during the November evenings. The living room has been refurnished since the online pictures were posted, so there is plenty of seating for a family of four. The proximity to downtown make the location convenient.

Great location. BUT!!!!!!

The location of your property is beautiful the landscaping also. The Casita is large enough but the furnishings need a lot of attention! Bed in second bedroom needs to be replaced, all furniture needs upgrading. Kitchen should be remodeled. I’m sure you know all this, but while we enjoyed our stay it wasn’t up to par with other rentals of the same price. We’d stay again if you upgraded things. FYI the hot tub motor ran at 12 o’clock in the evening and it was impossible to sleep in the master bedroom with the noise. Your caretakers are nice guys! We enjoyed our stay.

Ladies trip!

This property is a slice of heaven. We enjoyed the beautiful views, the home's beautiful architecture, and landscaping! We were very comfortable and had everything we needed. Breakfast on the patio with a view was our favorite morning routine. The furniture has been updated, so the photos are out of date, the top balcony was missing the nice seating area that's pictured and there was a ping pong table in it's place, which was a little disappointing, it could have been a nice place to sit. We recommend the property and hope to return!

Stunning Views with a touch of luxury.

Gorgeous and relaxing atmosphere. Could not beat view and coffee in the morning. Evenings on the upper patio in the hot tub were paradise. Note… lights aren’t efficient on the upper patio so bring a phone or flashlight. Beware, Over abundance of chlorine in hot tub. Eyes stinging and bathing suits discolored. Upper patio unswept- leaves and dirt on patio couch.

Great views

This is really a great property with a huge amount of potential. The location is great if you like having a remote and rural feeling while being just 8 minutes to uptown. The one big issue with this property is the odor. I don't write negative reviews and I would certainly stay at this property again (I am fairly low maintenance) but I think my wife and / or most any women out there with refined taste would be very disappointed by the intense odor inside this property. I can't say for sure what the odor is but it is bad and the managers know it as there were odor absorbing cans everywhere. Again, i would stay here again as I found it tolerable but would suggest those with high maintenance girlfriends / wives to stay somewhere else.

Exceeded our expectations!!

This property is STUNNING! The views are amazing, the house is gorgeous so and so luxurious. It’s so quiet and secluded. Loved watching the humming birds in the morning while enjoying our breakfast on the patio. At night we enjoyed watching the stars from the rooftop hot tub. Look forward to coming back.

Peaceful Hideway

We loved our stay while visiting our son at UCSB. It was a beautiful, peaceful setting with fabulous views of the coast and mountains. The steam shower and hot tub gave it a resort feel. If you are looking for a very quiet place to get away from it all we highly recommend this home.

Rat Infested and Otherwise Carelessly Maintained

We have stayed in many rentals over the years. This is the first negative review. I’m not sure I have room to list all the ways this stay went wrong. First and foremost there were rats. At least two. In the attic and in the kitchen. There were mouse or rat traps in every room placed with jars of Odoban (for the neglected dead ones?), so they knew there was an issue when they rented to us. We notified management the first morning when we discovered most of our fruit had been sampled overnight. two DAYS later “pest control” shows up (no official truck) and places one trap in the attic. The inside door handle fell right off just after our arrival. The French doors could not be secured or opened from the inside without it and they were the only access to the patio. Most of the casement windows were not fully functioning. We pried them open (and closed them) from the outside. There was no hot water in the master shower. When I went to open the bathroom blinds the whole shade fell off the wall. I tested the tub water the shower handle came off in my hand. There were no cushions for one of the two metal lounge chairs outside. The rest of the cushions on the outdoor furniture were well beyond needing to be replaced. The hot tub deck had no furniture (very unlike the photo online). Well, there was one love seat with a shredded cushion (rats again?). The view from there is of a dry brown hillside with a solar farm on it, no longer a lovely grove as advertised. So we asked for a set of cushions for the longe chair. No, they said, not possible. We told them of the door handle and window cranks. They were aware, but only the door handle was fixed and that took several days (one screw was missing!!!). The French doors access the beautiful patio view. Instead we carried our meals and drinks down the hall past the bathroom into the guest room and through those doors to the back yard and patio. The rats? It took 3 days for anyone to come. A trap was set in the attic. That night it was triggered. An hour later I saw a rat scurry through the kitchen. All of this was reported to management. No one returned for the trapped attic rat. (It had been up there 3 days by the time we left.) No one dealt with the kitchen rat. No one fixed the hot water. And no one at Paradise Management seems all that anxious to make any of it right. They did refund two nights (we were there a week). We would have left, but there was no place to go last minute. Beware
