About the host

Hi there! I have lived in the greater upstate New York region my whole life. I love to travel, but nowhere is more special than the beautiful lakes, mountains, and foliage of the Adirondacks. Summer at the lake is perfection, but the views cannot be beaten at any time of year, whether covered in snow or vibrant fall foliage. I am so excited to share this natural beauty with visitors and happy to answer any questions you might have.
Why they chose this property
Loon Landing Lodge is a private residence for our family, and we have loved spending time here for over twenty years. Our beautiful lake house, Loon Landing Lodge, on White Lake (which we fondly call "the camp"). White Lake is nestled in the foothills of the western Adirondacks and is the perfect destination for nature lovers and outdoor enthusiasts alike. With its stunning natural beauty and abundant recreational opportunities, there's something for everyone here!
In 2002, we wanted to find a lakefront property less than an hour from Utica, NY, when we found 'The Camp' on White Lake! White Lake is a beautiful gem nestled in the foothills of the western Adirondacks, which is one of the few spring-fed lakes in Adirondack Park and is currently one of the only lakes free from invasive species. Among White Lake’s unique aspects are its crystal clear waters; these beautiful waters support smallmouth bass, perch, bullhead, sunfish, rock bass, rainbow trout, lake trout, and a diverse bird population, including loons, heron, kingfishers, hawks, and eagles.
Loon Landing Lodge features spacious interiors with room for the whole family. From nearby hiking trails to window shopping in Old Forge, our cabin is perfect for creating unforgettable memories. Book your stay and experience the tranquility of the Adirondacks!

What makes this property unique
Loon Landing Lodge is on a large, one-acre lot at the tip of a peninsula, which affords lots of privacy. We also have a private dock stretching into our 100+ feet of lakefront footage.
If you're looking for a more laid-back vacation, White Lake is the perfect place to unwind and relax. Spend an afternoon reading a book on the shore of a tranquil lake, or enjoy a stroll over to the White Lake Inn for some drinks and food (they also have live music *almost* every weekend).
In addition to the stunning natural beauty of the lake, there are abundant recreational opportunities within a short drive of Loon Landing Lodge. Here are some suggestions to do in and around White Lake:
Hiking: Woodgate is surrounded by some of the most beautiful hiking trails in the Adirondacks.
Fishing: Woodgate is a fisherman's paradise, with numerous lakes and streams teeming with trout, bass, perch, and other species.
Canoeing and Kayaking: The area around Woodgate also offers some of the best canoeing and kayaking opportunities in the Adirondacks. We have kayaks stored on the kayak rack. Feel free to use them! We ask that you store the kayaks back on the rack when you are not using them. Paddles and life vests hang on the kayak rack and the outside of the shed.
Wildlife Viewing: The Adirondacks are home to an incredible variety of wildlife, from black bears and moose to eagles and ospreys. Take a guided wildlife tour and see these magnificent creatures up close in their natural habitats.
