This immaculate house is in a beautiful setting. It's convenient for day trips to the St John's area, St Vincent's beach, Brigus, Ferryland and so much more. There is an impressive and very pretty 9 hole golf course just 5 minutes away that we played twice.Darlene and Clyde were so responsive to any question and made us feel right at home.Would highly recommend this house in Cavenish NL!

We had a wonderful time in this beautiful home. The home was clean and artfully decorated with everything you need. The community was friendly and the scenery from the porch and the living room was spectacular. We even spotted a whale in the Bay. Our host was so hospitable and easy to communicate with. Darlene met all our needs, from coolers and lawn chairs for our day trips. She (and the town)even helped us locate a lost camera. We had an excellent time at Vista Del Mare!

About the host

Your host

Host profile image
that:
Vista Del Mare was created by a host who genuinely loves Newfoundland, hospitality, and helping people make memories. Every detail has been thoughtfully chosen to make your stay comfortable, relaxing, and unforgettable. Whether you’re here to explore the Baccalieu Trail, watch the ocean, spot icebergs and whales, or simply unplug from everyday life, my goal is for you to feel welcomed, cared for, and completely at home.

Why they chose this property

Cavendish is one of Newfoundland’s hidden gems. Nestled along the scenic Baccalieu Coastal Drive, it offers the kind of peaceful oceanfront experience that’s becoming harder to find. Here, you’ll wake up to the sound of the waves, watch fishing boats pass by, and enjoy spectacular sunsets over the Atlantic.

Cavendish is perfectly positioned for exploring the region’s rugged coastline, historic communities, hiking trails, whale watching, iceberg viewing (season permitting), and authentic Newfoundland culture. It’s close enough to popular attractions for day trips, yet far enough away to truly disconnect and relax.

What drew me to Cavendish was its simplicity—the ocean views, the friendly people, and the feeling that time slows down here. It’s a place where you can sit on the deck with a morning coffee, breathe in the salt air, and remember what a real vacation feels like.

What makes this property unique

Vista Del Mare isn’t just a place to stay—it’s a front-row seat to the Newfoundland coast.

What makes it special is the combination of unobstructed ocean views, privacy, and authentic Newfoundland charm. From the moment you arrive, you’re greeted by the Atlantic Ocean stretching out before you, with iconic Shag Rock standing proudly offshore.

Unlike a hotel, Vista Del Mare gives you space to slow down. Enjoy your morning coffee while watching the sunrise over the water, spend your day exploring the Baccalieu Coastal Drive, and end the evening listening to the waves from the deck.

Guests love that Vista Del Mare offers:
* Panoramic ocean views from the property
* A peaceful setting away from crowds and traffic
* Easy access to the Baccalieu Coastal Drive and surrounding communities
* Opportunities for whale watching, iceberg viewing, seabird spotting, and photography (seasonal)
* Comfortable accommodations designed for relaxation and connection
* An authentic Newfoundland experience rather than a typical tourist stay
Perhaps most importantly, Vista Del Mare was created by someone who genuinely loves the area and wants guests to experience the beauty, culture, and hospitality that make Newfoundland unforgettable.

Our goal isn’t simply to provide accommodation—it’s to help you create memories you’ll still be talking about long after you’ve returned home. 🌊🏡❤️
